>Disney
>Sequels

I feel like the first movie was such wasted potential, and could have been a better story if it weren't dumbed down for general audiences.

>Zootopia 2
>The Entire movie's just a romantic comedy following Nick and Judy's Relationship
Admit it. This is the only sequel a majority of the fanbase wants.

>dumbed down

the original was actually the dumbed down version.

you clearly saw who was going to represent who.

and there's Wreck it Ralph 2 next year.

they ran out of ideas.

>>Wow, I really wanted that shock collar setting!

Most of the rest of us didn't.

did kids whined when they didn't get Kingdom of the Sun?

>Any news on a sequel?
Disney's riding high on live action remakes of their old animated movies. We probably aren't going to see a Zootopia sequel anytime soon, unless they get the balls to make an animated series.

But, Disney is mostly riding on the Star Wars hype and are creating shows for that franchise.

and Marvel, and Cars, and Frozen, and Toy Story.
furries can wait.

>Toy Story
Are they seriously going to make another movie?

>a majority of the fanbase wants.
Reason number 1 to not do it that way

insidermonkey.com/blog/11-movies-that-sold-the-most-merchandise-405780/10/

this franchise prints money.

yeah, it's happening,

I get that the first movie was touching the topic of not letting stereotypes get in the way of how we treat one another, but if it was like, a primal instinct in their past then of course it was going to miss the mark.

If they do do a sequel I hope it's more relatable to society like how the poor are marginalized or something. Also I hope they don't try to put the characters into a relationship. There could be a few jabs at it but I'd be worried it would be at the cost of the plot.

Fucking hell I hope so.

thre re three ways for sequel
>make them couple which will promote diversity and be a social commentary on gay/interracial couple struggles

>make a movie about comedy relief, like flash or clawhauser

>write a completely new story for completely new characters set in the same city

all of these ideas suck desu. but it will be one of them

> implying there's something wrong with that.

How do normal buddy cop sequels work?

The sequel should be about a species that's turn violent because the species is inherently violent, not the victim of unfair stereotyping

I want her neighbors to have a bigger part.

Pittbulls?

I read that they might reveal that Judy is actually trans. The director is a male gay himself, and this issue is very important to him. He said that there are clues to this reveal scattered throughout the first film. Supposedly, he's close to convincing Disney to make Judy and Nick the first trans accepting couple in animation history. That would be AWESOME!!!

No wonder she's always carryin' that big carrot around!

oh shut up.

I hate how you people have appropriated an actual mental illness and turned into into a special little club for neon-haired idiots like yourselves, denying people from getting the actual treatment that they need because it's "Trans-phobic".

Not with hips like that

Fuck sequel, hit me up with a reboot based on the original plan.

Is Disney a monopoly

...

Disney is like Borg from the Star Trek, it assimilated everything and turns it more akin their imagine.

How about reptiles?

or bird refugees.

>Implying "actual treatment" ever worked

People still ended up killing themselves.

>"Shut up!"
>"No, you shut up!"
>"No, YOU shut up!"
80% of the gay couples I know are like this. Props for the directors for having the balls to show being gay doesn't mean you'll be happy.

well, they did direct to VHS/DVD sequels (most of the time, they sucked tough)

The sequel could show what happens when prey characters become predators

Sounds miserable

Welcome to marrying the first person you can last six months with.

She's still going to be shaped like a bunny...

he lucked out.h's happily married for years.

Bonus points if there's no morals or messages about interspecies/mix couples and it's just a cute romantic comedy.

maybe there will be a Zootopia short before WIR 2?

How about that first?

I'd rather, if anything, a series of shorts instead. The ending was so good anything that comes after it is going to sour it for me.

But then again I thought Toy Story 3 was going to suck so maybe they'll surprise us all.

I just want another Incredibles movie. Sigh.

Or a Monsters Inc that doesn't focus on Mike and Sully (cause the universe is pretty cool)

lawsuit could kill the whole thing. I want to see them bring the collars back into the mix. Its a new law that all predators have to wear tame collars after a large group of prey animals gets in charge of the government. Exposing Bellwhether's plot didn't suddenly undo all the hatred that we saw. As a result, Judy is promoted and Nick is demoted to the role of meter maid

MAN.

Toy Story 3 was a goodbye to good Pixar. shorts were cute, i really liked the christmas one, but come on, this is Ice Age/Land Before Time milking tier. Some of the original VAs passed away, give kids new generation of heroes.

they should just retool splash mountain and Mr. Toad's Wild ride to be a Zootopia rides. Call it Mr. Nick Wild's Ride

Incessantly, actually. From watching the documentary I thought it looked a bit ass- that little stone sidekick thing was especially shitty. But the fact that people didn't get it means that everyone wants it and hates Disney for denying them it.

history repeats, eh? KOTS ws yet another musical with some meh plot (steal sun or something)
I'd rather have my Kronk/Yzma shenanigans over that.

there's an update on lawsuit, somewhere on reddit there's a link.

>>make a movie about comedy relief, like flash or clawhauser

No no oh god no. We don't need another Cars 2 being about Mater incident.

>write a completely new story for completely new characters set in the same city

It would be cool to see a focus on something other than police again. Imagine what firefighting or emergency services would be like with all the different species running around.

i'd like if it was bout finnick, but it'd fall into "small and angry is the buttmonkey" trope.

the firefighters idea is neat.

we follow the cat from the beginning who wants to be an actuary. We see him arrive in Zootopia around the same time as Judy and fight to overcome predjudice and the idea that cat's aren't lazy. Judy cameos asking for a way to get Nick's Tax Returns. Then he has to overcome the extreme hatred Judy sets off from her press conference

oh god, i love overlapping stories!!

10/10 idea user!

Will never get a sequel because of the lawsuit.

I hope it's on the same level as The Fox and the Hound 2. Disney has a great track record for this sort of thing.

Okay, here's my idea (any Disney execs in this thread, contact me at [email protected] to discuss royalties):

The story begins a few years after the events of the first film. Judy and Nick have had two kids, one of which is a female rabbit with superficial fox characteristics, and the other a male fox with superficial rabbit characteristics.

(cont'd)

Well, the majority is stupid. I want a sequel in which Judy struggles with her responsibilities as a cop versus being the godmother of a known criminal's daughter.

I want to see Nick and Judy's kid pursue his dream of becoming an iceskater despite it being a sport dominated by animals from Tundra town

Have a story about their kid be a rabbit fox thing that has more than one tail because Japan

I'd be ok with this but I would still prefer wacky cop shenanigans

That sounds pretty gay and like some unnecessary drama desu. Besides I'm pretty sure Mr. Big would try to persuade his daughter to rescind that as having Goody two shoes the wonder cop as his granddaughters god mother is probably bad for business.

What about the comic? Disney said there would be a comic

yeah nothing came out of this.

mayb there's still focusing on their old brands?

its great how it looks like Nick's fly is open

Ever heard of Pirates 5?

I wonder how many furries did this movie create.

Is it the Robin Hood of our time?

Please, Robin hood has nothing on this movie. Robin hood created furries almost by accident. Maybe some of the animators were degenerates trying to animate their fetish. Zootopia not only knew what furries were, they created sexy character designs. And then the marketers aimed the movie at furries as a demographic. I'd be surprised if furries don't become a mainstream thing when this generation goes to college.

nah, this time, furry created a disney movie.

20 years from now, not owning an anatomically-correct dragon dakimakura will be considered abnormal.

Pretty sure Zootopia was just a side project. A very successful one, sure. But one Disney isn't interested in doing more with.

20 years from now people will live in an augmented reality where everyone has a fursona. Fox people will be infuriate that their children decide to be rabbits

>side project that costed over 150m $

moana costed less

it's probably 5 or more years off.
You won't be hearing anything about Zootoopia 2 any tike soon.

it wasnt even that good, it's a great fuel for porn, and it will be mostly remembered for that.

...

saved just 2bh

What does this mean?

funny, why japan gets all the *decent* merch?

user, money can be exchanged for goods and services, including shipping items across the ocean.

It made a shitzillion dollars and did insanely well overseas.

You bet your ass it's getting a sequel. Probably in 2-3 years though- Disney's pipeline is insanely long.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's basically a continuation of social commentary on discrimination with Judy and Nick hooking up and people not liking it being the B plot.

It did really well in Japan and for some reason really struck a chord with a lot of reviewers and media figures there. Studio Ghibli people were openly praising it.

Also according to a buddy of mine in Japan it got a pretty good localization apparently. That helps.

it did extremely well in china.

only for one reason

I want it in Kingdom Hearts, it'd look great.

>the major bows to them
>posses psychic-like abilities
>in contact with alien predators

Can I get a quick rundown?

My main concern is with whether or not the studio execs try to force them to suddenly include reptiles, birds, and primates somehow. I like it just being non-primate mammals instead of a cliche hodge-podge. Their current setup also gives them the chance to include lesser-seen mammals.

>reptiles, birds, and primates

not cuddly enough. mammals are fine the way they are.

the sequel deals with genetic engineering. Nick and Judy bust a bunch of scientists who have made mammals that are a combination of predator and prey. Right now, the experiments are just kids. In the end, they decide to adopt a one of the kids who is a mix between a fox and a rabbit

heresy.

...

in the sequel the genetic hybrids are a metaphor for autism

I fucking hope she is not in the sequel.

but why?

What does that mean?

The major tragedy of the movie was that a celebrity assaulted the city with her political opinions

Because she adds nothing to the story and her song takes up room for actual good music to be used.

her song had a point though, it was going to lure the audience that the world they are going in ill be awesome.

somthing from japan

that looks official

If only the producers wanted to make money and listen to the fandom. Oh well. I guess we are doomed to watch holocaust metaphors only for the next 5 sequels and a series.
