>He doesn't know about the underground Inuyasha sensation
Inuyasha was the original Naruto
youtube.com/watch?v=F7k-BbwVqxo

Inuyasha is the third biggest Anime, in regards to fanfics.

It was though, it was huge, one of the first. It just got a big backlash afterwards, particularly when people really started to talk shit about shonen series that went on too fucking long.

because after naraku gets his body back t turns into shit. and goes way too much into the shoujo aspect.
literally turns into "Naraku's hideout of the week". even the new season (kanketsu-hen in 2008/09) failed to get people's attention.
it did have a cult following in the 00s tho. and was one of well known animes of otakus back then. every con was full of inuyashas and seesshoumarus. along side katekyo hitman reborn stuff and D gray man

Why didn't we get the superior Takahashi series? Like One Pound Gospel, Ranma or Urusei Yatsura?

You're too young to remember, user.

Because it wasn't on Toonami, it was on Adult Swim. While many Adult Swim fans have more fond memories of it than they would admit out loud, weekday midnight's do not generate a large audience.

...

I just read the Manga because the show was so filler ridden and nothing ever happened

I will admit its hardcore nostalgia for me though, I remember sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night to watch it at home

Toonami/AS is Sup Forums
Sup Forums is for harem animes

No it isn't
DBZ and Digimon threads get torn down all the time

Why wasn't Yu Yu Hakashow bigger?

I am pretty sure the rule is, if it was on cartoon network it is Sup Forums. Cause shit like Bebop and DBZ are Sup Forums

>shit like Bebop and DBZ are Sup Forums
Don't those threads eventually get deleted?

>I will admit its hardcore nostalgia for me
I do have nostalgia for it too. the ost is good. but I can't deny how bad the show gets. Sesshoumaru centric episodes were alot better in the second half. also I got sick of the InuYasha, kagome and kikyo love triangle

Dont you know how to hide threads?

Its especially annoying because at no point is Kikyo ever shown as something besides a cold hearted bitch and it makes no sense anyone would want her, unless the pussy game is crazy

>I am pretty sure the rule is, if it was on cartoon network it is Sup Forums
No. The rule is if it has a horrendous localization, it's Sup Forums.

See Digimon which is welcome on Sup Forums, Sup Forums, and /m/.

Hey Sup Forums, it's me Naraku. Why don't you try killing me, you little faggots?

It was, though. For the early to mid 2000s, it was the girl DBZ, completely overtaking Sailor Moon.

I know for a fact that Digimon threads always get deleted on Sup Forums.

Does the show's plot progress AT ALL beyond the second season?

I'm genuinely curious, because I made it through the beginning of the fourth season back in the day before giving up.

>Why didnt ever become a big franchise like the other toonami shonen animes?
It was big enough that they sold Ranma 1/2 manga with "From the creator of Inuyasha" stickers.

>I know for a fact that Digimon threads always get deleted on Sup Forums.
Man, Sup Forums has gone to shit. Digimon's 3 board status used to be common knowledge.

It can be posted on Sup Forums, /vr/, Sup Forums, /vg/, and /m/, but not Sup Forums.

baby first shonen series in a time anime was starting to get big and the internet wasnt as vocal.

anime only got huge, and i mean HUGE after FMA.

Wasn't it 4 boards?
I know Digimon threads are also on Sup Forums
At least the semi annual Bionicle thread still happens on Sup Forums

Naraku is the ban evader of anime villains

name one thing that eventually doesnt get deleted.

seriously who gives a fuck, hide and report if you dont like it.

Nothing really progresses until the final act

I think you need to watch the Hakudoshi shit , and maybe Kikyo dies in the original series but Im not sure

I don't believe user.

Its got the same kind of legacy as FMA 2003 and DEEN Fate, where western fans loved it and then as the years went by for one reason or another grew to despise it,

I remember being 10 years old and being stupid frustrated by this dumb faggot because it was just like "you were supposed to be dead fuck off"...and then at some point, I don't remember when exactly, eventually I stopped watching Inuyasha and I started watching Bleach, and then that problem multiplied super hard with Bleach's antagonist.

Because it's fucking garbage

I remember watching the episode where they explain his backstory, and all I could think of was how his spirit basically could have been exorcised by giving him a bottle of Viagra.

So is Naruto, and that became a big franchise

It might have been 4 boards. I just remember Sup Forums and /m/ being the odd ones.

Because Naruto was fucking garbage with a wide appeal. It was right when Shonen Jump first started releasing its English printings that the anime craze really picked up, and Naruto was in the right place at the right time.

>An anime being garbage keeps it from being popular in the West

>burrito
I know it's supposed to be Bolt but still.

When did I ever say that?

BNA is pretty good.

FMA 2003 just got overshadowed by its brother.

Inuyasha is the only case I recall of pandered teenage girls actually getting bored and abandoning a show.

Got too repetitive and filler-y, I imagine.

You can only hear them yell at each other so many times before you give up.

But damn if it didn't have one of the greatest EDs in anime history with that first one.

youtube.com/watch?v=eI_el2XhI8s

I actually quite liked the show but I got tired of its meandering after a while.

Used to talk about it with a girl in middle-school about it but it would invariably devolve into some autistic squeeing on her end and I couldn't stand for that shit. I still haven't seen the 'Final Chapters' and I don't care to at this point. That being said, the show did have some pretty quality moments.

naruto's setting is pretty good and creative.
add a tragedy gimmick and a tournament arc and you have your new best seller.

inuyasha didnt even got a good setting.

>tfw Bleach had a perfectly fine grounded setting and ruined it with Soul Society a single arc in

>You can only hear them yell at each other so many times before you give up.

[as] knew what was up. First they apologized for Pilot Candidate, then this.

>stupid adult swim only has it on saturdays now

Jesus, just had Vietnam-flashbacks to when I used to frequent the [asmb] at that point in time.

I thought pilot candidate was interesting even if it was shameless fujobait. Too bad the writer dropped it.

yeah SC arc only works as a series finale.

quincys shit could've gone somewhere before all that madness, not to mention every main character mattered less and less as the series continued.

Reminder that Inuyasha did not get with Kagome, the PC (male) from the PS2 game did.

I think Bleach was the first anime I ever gave up on

It went to shit so fast post SS arc

Oh fuck I had that game, totally forgot about it until now, the PS1 fighting game too

that was some v-kino

The series was perfectly serviceable as Japanese Ghostbusters.

The fact that the King Fisher subplot gets ended arbitrarily on a total anticlimax like a third of the way into the story is a huge problem when he really should have been end game stuff and a huge character moment for the protagonist.

...why did Chad exist?

>super strong hybrid that has a demon father and human mother
>wears mostly red
>uses a large magic sword to fight demon armies
>has a stronger form where he embraces his destructive demon side
>bad attitude but deep down he has a heart of gold

Inuyasha needed more (good) video games.

>...why did Chad exist?
Kubo creates a design he thinks is cool and can't control himself: it has to become a character

It was subpar. It proved Rumiko can't write an action series when she's still stuck in her harem comedy mindest. The ending legit pissed me off.

I find it rather amusing that the final villain of Bleach looked suspiciously like Gold Roger...

Chad unironically has my favourite design in Bleach. Each of his powers looks great, each of his outfits look great, the hawaiian shirt, rose shirt with the popped collar and the sleeveless one with the cross, and the rest of him looks great in general. Granted he didn't exactly fit Bleach otherwise, it was more like JJBA part 9 Taco Tuesday.

Kubo should really just bite the bullet and be a full time character and costume designer.

Yeah, they put in a scene where Kagome pretty much is willing to fuck right on the road. Too bad it was some demon trying to get your soul and your rival which is Inuyasha comes in to help. If they had re-made this game I bet today you would be able to fight Inuyasha over her.

Were the quincies basically just fucking nazis that were also jews too?

>stupid adult swim only has it on saturdays now
they stopped showing it.

yes. and ichigo is a brazilian. half human, half shinigami, half quincy, can do fullbringe shit and half hollow

>tfw BnHA state

Feels good

Rumiko is the best slapstick artist in comic history. Her action-humor is legitimately funny, but her action-drama is either average, or just a bit above average. While she can create horrifying enemies, she can't create tense battles.

Bleach has great designs and I uninronically think the art during fake Karakura and beyond is top tier

A shame everything else is fucking garbage

i always thought inuyasha was a girl.

Yeah, BONES is doing a really good job with the adaptation. Madman soon.

I remember that ghost woman who turned into metal balls as a filler villain right after SS arc. I dropped the anime so hard because of that awful shit and stuck with the manga afterwards.

>Sesshomaru gets a new sword
>Kagome gets a new bow
>Koga gets a new pair of gauntlet claws
>Sango gets an upgrade to her boomerang
>Inuyasha gets new powers every week
>Miroku gets the ability to not feel pain from the poison that's killing him every time he uses his wind tunnel, which will also eventually kill him
Miroku got shafted hard. Rumiko just did not know what to due with him.

I'm quoting the show from back then. There was a HUGE bitch-fest on the message boards when anime got relegated to Saturdays only.

>tfw Sternreiter P is low key your obscure waifu

Miroku got Sango without any strings attached. That's as big a victory as you can get.

Miroku is OP! pls nerf
t. Naraku

But it did. I remember all the nerds in middle school loving it. Every time I went to a DVD store like Strawberries or FYE, their anime selection was either DBZ, hentai, or Inuyasha. But that was back in 2003. I'm sure a decade from now, people will be treating Attack on Titan like this embarrassing fad like they do with Inuyasha right now.

I remember when they had anime on every night. So I recorded it since I was still in HS and couldn't stay up that late to watch when it was on air. So the day after school I would watch on the VCR the anime from the night last.

>those fat lips Kubo put on literally every girl about halfway through

Kinda wish he was now.

How would you kill Naraku and keep him from flying away cackling like a faggot Sup Forums?

Because you run away more than I do and I'm blacker than the void of space.

>I think Bleach was the first anime I ever gave up on

DBZ for me. I had been watching since 99 and longed to see the Namek arc concluded. Even back then, I thought they drew shit out too much sometimes, though.

Little did I know that I had been watching a heavily truncated version. The Funimation dub almost made me tear my hair out with how mind numbingly slow it was.

The only reason I even know how it ended and all the shit that came after is because my friend was super into shonen- after I had introduced him to DBZ.

As bad as Aizen and Naraku were, at least they eventually lost. Fucking Orochimaru got away with everything.

I honestly wish he had died, if only to add some fucking drama. Or maybe have had the group get bigger and one them die. It being that same group for 100+ episodes was just hard to get invested with after so long.

because LORD FREEZA ISNT IN UR ANIME

k

Bleach would have been infinitely better if the series had been about the characters as fashion models.

You can't prove me wrong.

All that filler and they didnt have him do nearly enough dumb shit in the modern day

I mean the bit with the fire victim ghost proves that kind of shit is still around

Which long-running Shonen never went from widely loved to widely hated? I guess Yu Yu Hakusho, FMA, and Jojo's, but what else?

AYY

I was actually expecting the series to end with them going into the present to fight Naraku. I imagined he would have (in the original timeline of events) consumed every demon he could find and then laid low, hoping to find the sacred jewel again. In the present, he'd be some crazy powerful business giant and basically making human life miserable through consumerism or whatever, before finding out about Kagome's time traveling shenanigans and teaming up with his past self and using the sacred jewel to fuck with reality.

Gag spinoffs almost always outshine the original if the source material is lacking. Rock Lee's Autistic Antics was brilliant, albeit repetitive.

Wasn't there a bit where Lee finds out girls piss and shit he flips the fuck out?

...

Yes.
Some episodes are hit-or-miss, but when they hit, they hit.

JoJo IS widely hated, but mostly becaue of the JoJo fans shoving it fucking everywhere

Seriously. If Kubo was great at one thing, it was fucking fabulous outfits. If the whole story was just Ichigo and the others strutting about in cool duds with a few of the others as designers just displaying their passions, I'd legitimately read it.

>nu-uh you dint kill me, it was merely a puppet

>Went to the comments section of Roundabout a few years ago
Holy fuck

So.....

Kagome or Sango?

It was bad.
