It isn't too difficult if you think back to the talent show and certain comments that were said by characters leading up to the end. Pas's entire story is about sacrifice.
>Sacrificing the world (by causing the apocalypse) so he could be with Aurora.
>Sacrificing his friends in Hell and Heaven to go restore Aurora.
Pas removed himself from universe 2 to allow Aurora to live a life without ending the world. He sacrificed his own happiness for his friends and former lover.
