Super.

He's a true romantic.

He's nice and down to earth.

Confident

Honorable

Assertive

Optimistic

Heroic

Fake ass motherfucker like Tom Cruise

He puts on a smile and an optimistic persona, but deep inside he knows he is just playing a character for the sake of his reputation

...

Grown up boy scout.

Gotta disagree; Superman can be pretty naive at times, and often sees good in people when it just isn't there.

I'd say he's humble, though.

beef bourguignon

There should be a drinking game for the first season of Justice League that has you take a shot every time Supes goes down like a punk ass bitch or gets electrocuted

Superman has a strong sense of justice. He believes in doing what's right, no matter what anyone says.

He's friendly and always there to help, but when it comes to protecting the defenseless, he can be very serious.

He's the ultimate samaritan. He puts others fully before himself.

Boy Scouts always follow the rules and the law, like Batman. Superman doesn't give a fuck about laws if they get in the way of helping people.

thats a good way to get alcohol posioning

Different guy, but one of Superman's nicknames is literally "the blue boy scout". It's not about laws, it's about helping little old ladies across streets

I always thought the average DCU citizen would see it something like this.

>Superman
>Charismatic, but distant, seems to keep everyone at an arm's length except Lois Lane
>Handsome, but in an uncanny valley sort of way
>Kind, but condescending
>Optimistic, but naive

It's a stark contrast to his counterpart.

>Clark Kent
>Kind of awkward, but only until you get to know him
>Good looking, in a down home sort of way. Frumpy dresser, but gives the impression he could clean up nicely
>Cool, bit of a sarcastic streak in him
>Less of a hardass than Lois Lane, but enough of a realist to roll up his sleeves and do the hard investigative journalism when he needs to (how else would he get those great stories?)

The kind of folk who actively chooses to believe that life is good after all and must be protected and lived.

Be the best person you can be and don't be ashamed of it. There's literally nothing wrong with that.

I like think that he speaks with a fairly prominent twang. He DID grow up in the Kansas heartland, after all. After moving to Metropolis, he'd take effort to disguise the twang while acting as Superman by adopting an "Accent-Neutral", cable newscaster sort of way of speaking, but he wouldn't bother with it when living his life as Clark. After all, he's from Kansas, so it'd be expected to a degree- and it'd add another layer to his disguise that might not necessarily occur to anyone.

I also like to think that when he's in the Justice League Watchtower, or when he's just at ease around friends and family, he sometimes drops the act when he's still Superman, totally weirding out the people that don't know he grew up in Smallville.

He has literally never been depicted to speak with any form of twang in his animated and live action forms.

I'm not even sure how you describe his accent... I'm not American be he sounds like what the average city dwelling Americans sound like.

>He has literally never been depicted to speak with any form of twang in his animated and live action forms.

I'm aware of that, user, that'd be why I said "I like to think that." I think the kids are calling it a "headcanon" these days.

chad.

Go to bed lex

How does any of that stop him from or negate him being nice and down to earth?

...

Why can't actors be bothered to put contacts in any more?

Down to earth: to have no illusions or pretenses, to have a realistic take on things.

Superman is convinced that, deep down, everyone has a good side. I'd say that falls under the category of an illusion/pretense.

He is nice though.

Not Billy Batson, so stop trying to shoehorn him into somebody he isn't.

Stoic. Kind of a dick.

>Boy Scouts always follow the rules and the law,
Clearly you've never met my illustrious troop. The laws of god, man and fire safety meant nothing to us.

Stop using that shit coloring job

headcanons are cringey

I wish we got a series like BTBATB but with asshole Superman

>shit coloring job
>implying yellow on red logo isn't sexy af

As others said, down-to-earth and easy to talk to. All bets are off when injustice happens, though. I like to think the quintessential Superman still gets pretty Golden Age at times and gets tired of evil's shit and won't hesitate to pimpslap and beat them into submission.

FUN

the aw-shucks humble good ol' boy that all racist fuckhead good ol' boys like to imagine themselves to be.

Inteligent, optimistic, with a noble sense of humor.

Not if you drink orange soda.

ALTAR BOY

Same with my troop. Being assigned to fire marshall on one camping trip was an exercise in futility for me. We had more lighters than a group of smokers.

Why? In DCAU his eyes were black (=brown), same as Aquaman's and Wonder Woman and Batman had blue eyes. In DCEU it's vice versa.

Down to Earth, humble, kind and strong willed, but often naive, a little preachy and losses his cool in extreme ways if he somehow loses his patience. There's also a little bit of an ego or overconfidence in him: Superman sometimes thinks he can do almost anything and that his teammates should never take the front of an attack. That he should be their shield and take anything that could hurt him because he thinks he can take it no matter what. It shows a little bit of his character in a realistic way. This is a guy that can tank a fucking supernova; I would be a little overconfident too if I could survive shit like that to the face.

Self-righteous. The more powerful a character is, the more righteous they become.

That's pretty much every superhero.

Homely, charismatic, fatherly, kind of dorky

enjoys a bit of banter

Man of Murder

He has a massive cock

huggable

Deeply confident, charismatic defined by his faith in himself and by extension his projection of that faith on people around him and humanity as a hole. Somewhat solitary and reserved and at times overconfident and stubborn.

Momma's boy.

So Batman?

>Has detailed plans to take down all of his major allies
>Created Brother eye
>Created multiple identities in case his main two fail
>faith in himself or humanity
nah.

He only did those things when his friends raped his mind.

I am pretty sure no one forced batman to stockpile kriptonite or to build the anti-JLA mechsuit. In fact batman's trust issues are kind of his defining characteristic in contrast to Superman who is often seen as naive or a "boy scout."

He was trying to protect Superman and the JL helped him create the Hellbat armor.

But i agree with you, i'm just messing around.

If we are going with Bruce Timm's works.
He is the most humble troll to ever exist.
youtu.be/d0QVvbhMm24

dubs of truth.

Confident

Handsome

Aesthetic

Daring

comfy
literally the ideal man

So this is were that comes from.

I could go on and on about it myself, but I'll let his better half do it for me.

Weary, lonely space immigrant. He accepts his new home, flaws and all, but knows he does not belong. He is optimistic about Earth's positive attributes, but unsure about the negatives.

That's terrible.

lois looks like she's been going a little too hard on the cake

So do you.

Any iteration where he can hear the whole world and isn't constantly saving people is wrong
his journalist persona ONLY makes sense as a tool to find out about disasters to help with

I noticed little people mentioned his sense of humor, which to me is one of his defining qualities. Not only is he known to mess with Lois and the Daily Planet staff, but he's usually confident enough on his powers that he'll find a way to prank most crimedoers while he brings them in. That's why Mr. Mxyzptlk stories work so well- Mxyzptlk has even more power but a rotten sense of fun, and the only way Supes can beat him is by out-pranking him.
Add that to his optimism andcheery disposition, and to me what becomes a fundamental of Superman's personality is that, even in spite of all, he's a man who really enjoys his job.

Superman is the archetypical superhero. It is not that he is like every superhero, it is that every superhero is in emulation of him.

Describe Clark Kent's personality.

Um...stern?

>Flash, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman are having a good time
>Superman and Batman look like they're ready to kill a nigga.

Nigger Batman only exist because Superman exist.

That page is pretty everything that's wrong with post-crisis Supes. Whiny, pathetic, and constantly needing someone to cheer him up. He was literally Charlie Brown with Super powers. He's pretty much the definition of not inspiring.

post-crisis basically skull raped his sense of humor. His sense of humor sense then has been pathetic. But yeah prankster Supes is awesome and the opposite of boring.

Morrison wrote him some great bants in ASS, shame most writers aren't even capable of that nowadays, let alone filmmakers.
Personally I blame Kingdom Come, which is almost Watchmen levels of miscomprehension and taking the absolute worst message from it for the nostalgia crowd.

It's pretty simple:

Power without corruption.

...and?

You almost spelled out CHAOS. Superman confirmed for chaosfag. one more god rejected.

George Washington

Yes, because they derive those qualities from him. The original can't be a cliche.

Doesn't post on Sup Forums

fuck off tumblr.

I do wonder how a meeting between Superman and Frank Castle would play out.

Confident

Honorable

Assertive

Optimistic

Strong

Courageous

Open

Noble

Tenacious

Radiant

Outgoing

Levelheaded

Guess you can say he is the ultimate hero.

>trust issues

You are a fucking clown if you believe the plans relate to trust and not just a normal attitude. He is proven right every single time someone is mind controlled or in alternative timelines.

That's clark, not superman.

without a shadow of a doubt

You mean like SMT?

Reminder that the OG "asshole socialist" Superman is still GOAT.

Not that I don't like the more boyish +1950's moralfag Supes, he's still great- but it's just fun as fuck to see him cut loose and kick the crap out of some douchebag who's more than earned their comeuppance. The shamelessly indulgent Jewish wish-fulfillment aspect of the character is just a lot more engaging in his own right without needing to rely on gimmicky villains or science fiction craziness to carry his stories, at least imo.

Messiah Complex resulting from abandonment early in childhood.

HEE-HO!

Moody
Angry
Sad
Childish
Confrontational
Insecure
Low on patience
Rebellious against authority

You know, Superman!

Superman has been all that before, though. Nu52 Superman was pretty like that.

A bit of a mess of contradictions, he is confident yet very anxious all the time. He is funny and brash yet safe and nonthreatening. He is capable of so much yet he choses to limit himself.

A bit of an old fashioned farmboy with a heart of gold but definitely nice, he is an optimist at heart trusts people he meets almost immediately.

Superbro was a gem

Thats's Batman

...

You forgot "literally Jesus get it he's Jesus do you see the Jesus imagery he's Jesus"
