HIS NAME IS MYSELF HE PLAYED US LIKE A DAMN FIDDLE
>Never listen to the devil at a crossroads
“A curious fact – the Institute of Fractal Archivists insisted to me today they had found a peculiar period of history prior to the Second Conquest that according to their ontoscopes does not exist. Nearly two centuries to which a huge host of historical inaccuracies and inconsistencies have been attributed – I am familiar with the period myself. They theorize that this is because the period only existed for some people; that is to say the flow of time itself, the turning of the great wheel, was tampered with. It is, of course, a preposterous explanation, though so very convenient I am inclined to believe it.” -Payapop Pritram, personal notes S.C. 2420
>missing time I see Abbadon continues to lift concepts wholesale from The Elder Scrolls.
Ryan Powell
Great artists steal
Oliver Lopez
Of fucking course his name would be "MYSELF" and not "HIMSELF". It makes perfect sense.
Adam Davis
Seems like Allison newfound's attitude can only take her so far.
Levi Fisher
Everyone wanting to Kill You is part and parcel of being a King. Better get used to it. You'll never be able to trust anyone again. But with the power of a King used correctly you'll never have to.
Easton Wright
>that eye in the last panel spooky
Lucas Williams
The best get away with it
Oliver Kelly
okay, now i am imagining MYSELF's voice as freaky fred.(from courage)
Alexander King
will be interesting when devils use faces stolen from humans as masks, which define their personality but shape and corrupt that personalityy turning its slowly into devils own identity which will explain why they change colors and slowly degrade back to original devil form. stolen "myself" mask forced upon devil is consumed by devil and the less "colors" it soges down the more dangerous and wild devil grows back to his hunger.
Kevin Hernandez
He calls himself Myself. We call him Himself.
It's one of the interesting aspects of the YHWH phrase because you have to interpret it through your first person perspective.
Joshua Hughes
explain the himself my self thing I don't get it
Justin Allen
To understand that you are yourself and you are the universe is a main theme in the comic. It's basically the main thing of royalty.
Leo Bailey
His name for himself is "HIMSELF". what else whould it be? isn't your name for yourself your name?
William Howard
>the other devils are his captors >metal box pierced with dozens of glowing needles >wrapped in and suspended by chains >bloodstains >scratches or marks caused by the needles all over it >that fucking eye in the last panel Guys I'm super scared right now
Nathan Roberts
>royalty.
droped. leaving this thread..
Jacob Miller
>the speech bubble slithering its way around the bars in the bottom left panel
FUCKING, COMIC-KINO
Connor Lee
He has no actual name so what you call him is him aka himself for formal address, and he can only call himself me, or myself by the same regard. Therefore he seems to have two names but in reality he has no name.
Dylan Kelly
>KINO Please fuck off back to Sup Forums and never come back.
Austin Powell
>capitalizes pronouns referring to him nice touch
Jackson Hughes
That eye in the last panel, though.
Jose Gutierrez
>that fucking creepy little eye
Isaiah Myers
He's only in there because HE TOLD THEM TO DO THIS TO HIM. Granted, I'm sure he did a thorough job and they are his actual captors now, but I also get the impression that if somebody sneezes too hard against that thing he's free and just won't be able to stop himself.
Bentley Lewis
This and the obvious biblical parallel aside (I am that I am). He's a devil, without a mask, that still has a name. One he gave himself.
A piece of pure chaos that can still have an identity. A contradiction. We already know there is great power in such things.
Julian Davis
So He knows Incubus is also inside her head isn't He?
Leo Morris
I can hear it too, pretty fitting.
Alexander Jackson
>He's a devil, without a mask, that still has a name. One he gave himself.
Zachary Rodriguez
didnt the alt text one or two pages ago say that his imprisonment was just a formality as well?
Asher Cook
I mean, thats also a real thing. Crazy retarded thing, but a real thing.
I imagine it's both. Like, he really is imprisoned right now, in that he cannot escape under his own power. I feel like he wouldn't have done the job half-assed he really did intend to be imprisoned.
But he could say "let me out" and his "captors" would be fighting to get their first.
Charles Parker
Assuming to a Dragon Break, that's something similar but different. This bit from Sandman sums it up in a few sentences pretty neatly.
Kevin Gomez
How is it used in TES?
Mason White
There are these things called Dragon Breaks, basically where time got fucked by something, and they play a role in the history of the series. In the second game, Daggerfall, the protagonist gains control of the Numidium, an artificial god, and uses its power to cause a Dragon Break. This Dragon Break allowed the multiple, conflicting endings of the game to all be canon simultaneously. Another example of a Dragon Break is the one used to defeat Alduin that sent him forward into time to get Skyrim's plot rolling along.
Blake Sullivan
That's pretty cool
Jacob Sullivan
...
Blake Torres
There is no way TES was the first to use this.
Charles Smith
The most dangerous devils cut with words, not claws.
Henry Phillips
I am I, you are you but you are I, when you say I, and I am you
Carson Walker
he's talking from both grates.
Hunter Collins
wait, better yet
the most dangerous devils cut not with claws nor teeth, but words from sharpened tongues
Chase Ortiz
Ok, what is this and is it any good? Cause it looks really cool.
Matthew Gray
>Ok, what is this and is it any good? Cause it looks really cool.
Kill Six Billion Demons
A web comic
And yes, it's as good as it looks
Go read it. then read it again, then read all the clever hidden bits and easter eggs and essays and short stories.
It's really that good.
Landon Hernandez
Probably not the best time to be hopped up on godly goofballs, allison.
Jose Mitchell
I'll be sure to do that, thanks!
John Wilson
Probably but I doubt he cares too much unless he wants to manipulate Allison. Incubus is probably staying the fuck away from Allison's mind right now.
Ryan Hill
That fucking eye is scarier than nothing at all, jesus christ.
Colton Bailey
I really really like that the grates are irregular.
Easton Morgan
>I got my peeper on you
Isaac Brooks
So what's his angle here? I now he doesn't want to help Allison but will give her aid. Does he want the key? Does he just want more chaos? Does he want all the angels fucked and dead?
Oliver Rivera
maybe he's sick of an existence where he has to be trapped permanently or risk destroying everything and wants allison to enact the hard reset like metatron
Jacob Bailey
Just a mere formality, like a seal of approval.
Blake Edwards
He may want to get rid of the current demiurges. He may want to see a cool battle. He may want nothing at all.
I wonder what the purpose is of having Himself there to sign off on devils. What do devils gain by having him tell them what to do?
Jayden Cox
Ironically, organization.
Ian Price
he could probably get all of those things by some means without allison's help, or so i believe. maybe im overestimating how powerful he is based on what abaddon has said about him in the past. but he seems like the kind of guy who doesn't really want much besides a few/single very specific thing(s). especially not worldly possessions or power or anything
Sebastian Hernandez
But why do they need it?
Jordan Mitchell
He's apparently as strong as a prime angel, but since he's locked up and chained I imagine his power is more innately consuming of the world around him. A fire has to have oxygen afterall,
Benjamin Evans
Devils shed sapience by removing names and becoming closer to formless chaos
Myself is like a living paradox both named and nameless, in essence He is His own name
Jaxon Russell
They dont need it but he likes to be organized and since hes the most powerful dude around everyone is gonna be fucking organized.
Chase Wright
>the business of all devils is my business Could it be that Himself knows everything devil related no matter the distance or the individual ? Like seeing their thoughts or seeing the world through them ? His last guess on Allison is an easy read since she's facing him, his first is easy too knowing Cio is a power-hungry slut, but the middle one involves knowing what Allison said.
Carson Williams
I don't know. He may feel that he has a responsibility to keep the devils in check because he feels a stronger connection with all of them. Maybe he is in tune with the black flame. That would kind of explain how he can read Allison's mind.
Kayden Lewis
What exactly "Magus Gates" do? Regular red ones, like Cio stole, not cool white ones. Are they only keys to stationary portals?
Christopher Gonzalez
First off, Cio stole a Key of Kings, one of the white ones. Second, keep in mind I'm not sure I'm remembering this right, Magus Gates let you travel along Ley Lines but don't give you the ability to open gates to other worlds.
Brandon Robinson
Opens a portal to 1 world. And also lets you align your will with the voice of 1 god. Makes you very very powerufl. Cio stole a Magus gate, a key of the demiurges, which is a white one, from Mammon. The red ones are leystones which are kind of a much much weaker version of the same thing.
David Russell
PANEL SIX
THE CLOCK JUST STOPS
>hold me
Mason Martin
>clock stops >text under the page about time shenanigans >cio warns Allison not to listen to Himself Did he literally stop time or merely put Allison in another time just to introduce himself properly?
Michael Wright
Yeah, that's what I don't get. Cio clearly have red one, not white one, in here forehead. If she stole Kings Key from Mammon does that mean 1) Mammon don't have any Key now (unlikely); 2) Cio should have white shiny thing in here hade, not a dull red one..?
Jayden Bennett
Probably anybody can get a leystone. She stole a key from Mammon when she was ebon. You weren't paying enough attention. The angels killed Cio and took the key back.
Nathaniel King
>1) Mammon don't have any Key now (unlikely); She stole 1 key out of 111,111 that he had and he replaced that key with another >2) Cio should have white shiny thing in here hade, not a dull red one..? She did and she used it for a while until Mammon paid off a shitton of people to help fuck her up; as a result her mask was smashed and Preem Nand, the giant, gold-faced cat from way back, had to have it put back together to get her back. The red one in her head is just a leystone.
John Davis
...
Nicholas Russell
I see. Thanks, guys,.
Thomas Carter
and nothing of value was lost.
why not both?
Ryan Murphy
So when are we going to see who won the devil contest?
Joseph Powell
As soon as we get back to Oscar and see the team he's rounded up; so in like 2 pages.
Charles Lewis
>2 pages Try at least 5
Brody Russell
>>tfw abbadon doesn't even post your entry
Ayden Miller
He'll get to it. There were like two million.
Elijah Long
Nah it'll be sooner I bet.
Jaxon Bell
...
Christopher Hernandez
Nice catch
Eli Russell
Nice detail that Himself's speech bubbles come from different parts of the cage
Kevin Reyes
>I also get the impression that if somebody sneezes too hard against that thing he's free and just won't be able to stop himself. I get the feeling that if HIMSELF decides to look crosswise at the lock the whole fucking thing and everything around it will explode
Caleb Allen
>a friend
OUCH. Fucking KEKED.
Carter Jones
See guys, it wasn't rape. Cio just wanted to murder her!
Bentley Miller
To continue on that, akatosh the god of time is represented by a dragon hence 'dragon break' which happens when it doubts its own existence and time goes wonkey having multiple converging timelines that merge into one when Akatosh rearranges himself. You make Time have an existential crisis essentially.
Isaac Brooks
I wonder if thats personal hubris or just to reinforce his own self and keep his identity.
Jayden Sullivan
Oh no, if he wanted out, he could get out, after all Himself can literally fuck with reality on a whim. I doubt there is any prison in existence that could contain him, I mean he's on par with Prime Angels.
Michael Reyes
Why would a being whose so self conscious that he broke reality to exist, want to undo it all? Devils are selfish creatures, they are hubris and desire incarnate, and Himself was so greedy he named Himself without obeying the rules
Andrew Peterson
I'm imagining it like Sauron's eye in Allison's head, a giant burning fucking gaze scanning all around her mind, and Incubus hiding in the shadows.
Leo Ward
because his existence has been reduced to being trapped in a shitty box for all eternity
Thomas Wilson
I miss when he drew fat porn
Thomas Fisher
But the whole thing is SELF-IMPOSED. He could bust out and defeat all of his "captors" any time if he felt like it
Carter Bell
Just noticed that Himself speaks in handwritten instead of typed like other characters. Himself is Abadon self insert confirmed.
Jeremiah Wilson
Are you sure they're the only one? Seems more like a stylistic choice.
David Moore
Oh this is going far better than The user who hypothesized that Incubus wanted her there to bust Himself out, I think you're right.
I feel like posting this just because.
Joshua Morgan
He says he is a being of formality, and his imprisonment is a formality. I don't think it's a matter of "wanting to" but something more.
What I get from it is that perhaps, ritual is formality in a sense. He has been ritually shut into his box, and even though he has the ability to leave it, the formality of it binds him regardless. He DOESN'T leave because he SHOULDN'T leave.
Jose King
than I had hoped*
Don't know what happened to the rest of that first sentence.
Jaxson Jones
Yeah, reach power through violence baby!
Aiden Scott
REACH HEAVEN THROUGH VIOLENCE BABY
Oliver Reyes
But Himself doesn't follow rules, his very existence is breaking the rules if the world not to mention he is still a Devil. Should and shouldn't s go as far as the Devil wants, I mean, you shouldn't break into Mormon's bank and steal a key from him, but that didn't stop Cio. And it won't stop Himself.
Luke Bailey
I can see Allison saying "Myself" questioningly and Himself correcting her. Himself's name could very well not be the word "Myself" nor is it "Himself", but the very concept of the "self" itself.
