Describe the following character WITHOUT saying what they look like, what costume they wore or what their profession or role in the movie was. Describe this character to a friend as if they've never seen The Phantom Menace. Can Sup Forums do it?

No one can. Even though the new star wars is total shit, that doesn't make the prequels less of a disaster.

I just realized that the blade is misaligned from the hilt.

He was a good friend who often pissed himself.

Qui Gon Cheese is above else an optimist. He is the kind of man who sees the world as is and accepts it, but wonders what it could be. He has faith it could be better and will do everything in his power to achieve it, even if it means going against norms and authority. In that way, he is a bit of a rebel (and a bit of a stubborn). Normally, people with this type of personality can be assholes, wreaking havoc everywhere justifying themselves as pursuing the greater good (the end justifies the means kinda deal), however he is also very kind and good-hearted. A trait that provides a good counter-balance keeping him grounded and providing a limit for his rebellious nature.

Easy

The character is a bit abrasive, and possibly a space racist. He considers aliens to be mostly beneath him. (see t-fed remarks, jar jar remarks, manipulating every alien he can't barter with).
He has a problem with authority, and wants everything to go "his" way.
He's also the most fanatical religious man of his order, going beyond their judgement in favor of a prophecy no one else really believes in, at his deathbed proclaiming its importance.
In a few words, Judgemental, quick to violence, cynical, loyal, arrogant, duty-bound and fanatic.

> He doesn't understand what personality is

the greatest jedi

>rlm's personality test
If you want to look at characters 2 dimensionally that's fine. Passing doesn't indicate quality writing, just a tier above being literal wooden planks.

he abducted a little boy and very badly wanted to personally train him despite everyone telling him it was a bad idea

stoic, wise, experienced and optimistic person who strongly belives in higher power, but has problems with accepting authority. he constantly argues with his higher ups and ignores their orders.
despite being a monk he has no problems with cheating or mindtricking people out of their property if he belives it will serve a good purpose or help him further his goals, ends justify the means type of guy.

What does this mean?

definitely the weakest part of the review

...

Space samurai with honeybadger mentality.

A greedy asshole, a trickster, believing he has the moral highground always and is okay fucking over anyone to make his ends meet.

Not that hard.

he grabbed for the wrong thing on his belt, user

He is a wise and patient man who, unlike the other characters, is inclined towards peaceful resolutions in the conflicts that they come by.

the prequels at least had the cheesy factor going for them
the sequels are nothing movies

This. People go overboard with their hate for the prequels.

he became the jew to overcome the jew, and he paid the price

weird hippy conspiracy theorist

Mentor and father figure

Has any movie ever been more nitpicked than phantom menace.
>slow down movie to 1fps.
>spot the the most meaningless mistakes
>literally no one noticed the blunder while watching the film.
See, the prequels suck.

He was a good friend.

That was by far the most stupid part of the review. Literally nothing but filler.

it's actually a good way to tell if you're character is well written or not.
pic related. IF YOU DON'T MENTION YOUR CHARACTER'S BIRTH SIGN, YOU ARE FAILING AS A WRITER

Sure it can, but the problem is that Mike, Jay and his friends let their bias dictate how they approached each character they were describing.

Contrarian religious zealot with mild delusions of grandeur.

Leim Nelson

you gotta admit; the fact that Jay couldn't describe Padme's sexual history/lovers speaks volume of how her character was written

its intentional to show what a maverick Qui-Qon was. He didn't blindly follow the Jedi Council or some shiieet

Imagine being this user going through these kind of mental loops to facilitate a retarded narrative RLMfags think exists to try and justify how garbage their Sequels is by downplaying the Prequels.

>Maverick
>Devout
>Headstrong
>Confident to the point of slight arrogance
>Goes with the flow of the universe, but only as he personally sees it, IE follows his own path
Why do people act like Qui-Gon is a non-character? He's the only one in the movie with any character to speak of.

Its pretty pathetic yeah.

>alright let's zoom out here and then make a nonsensical red herring about what's going on
>make everything super slow
>Oh and say the story has no protagonist

Fucking jesus.

he forgot that he doesn't have firearms in this movie
