I unfortunately missed this in theaters so I decided to wait until it reached Netflix to see it. I decided to bring it up again since it is the start of a new year and everyone's still looking back at the movies of the past year

I liked it, but the actual power rangers stuff was the worst part of the movie. I'd like to see a sequel because I enjoyed all the kids and their interactions, but dear god they need a design overhaul on everything.

I kinda agree. When the trailer came out everyone was expecting weird designs because it's kinda hard to make an adaptation of kid superheros like power rangers for a larger audience. The designs do kinda make sense considering this is alien tech based off an alien planet
A single throwaway line where she sort of passively acknowledges being a lesbian is hardly "shoehorned". Also considering it's a source of conflict for her since she comes from a super traditional hispanic family it works.
