New "Treasures from the Disney Vault" on TCM, tonight at 8PM EST.
Treasures from the Disney Vault Thread
Full Schedule.
ah shit that polo cartoon is fucking good
Personally, I think this month's lineup looks a bit dry.
Bump.
So the cartoon and the first minute of Pollyanna for the boy's bare ass. This is a lousy selection of stuff.
Does anybody ever do a livestream of this?
So I shouldn't hold my horses for something better? I don't wanna put the cart before the horse.
Summer Magic has Burl Ives and stuff that ended up in Happy Happy Joy Joy because Burl Ives
Quit horsing around with puns.
I've never heard of any of these.
The only reason I know about Summer Magic is because of that one Disney Sing Along Songs VHS.
>only one of these is a cartoon
what the fuck has happened to disney
I've at least kind of heard of Pollyanna. I think it's kinda like a knockoff Anne of Green Gables/ Heidi/ Pippi Longstocking/ A Little Princess or something.
Disney produced a lot of live action stuff. For a while, it was those films and Disneyland that was actually bringing in the money.
Yeah, animation at Disney back in the day had a more infrequent release schedule and live action filled that gap increasingly starting in the 50s.
TCM's focus is showcasing the overlooked parts of the older Disney catalog ranging from some of those live-action films, Walt's old TV show, animated shorts, and the True Life Adventures.
Plus, TCM blew almost all their load with the earlier months.
1 minute till show time!
Ditto.
Have to admit that I'm looking forward to Pollyanna. Never seen it before, and I'm willing to give it a chance.
Damn. Have we really been doing this for close to three years?
Yep, and I missed almost all of the good ones.
Hey, this piece is apart of the Magic Kingdom entrance music.
Well, there's always The Black Hole to look forward to. Or more 'Disneyland' episodes about the parks.
The stuff that the ear can pick up.
I remember my jaw dropping when I heard 'The Skeleton Dance' over in Toontown
Huh, Hayley Mills was also in "A Troll in Central Park".
Kind of weird to think TCM may be dropping sponsorship of this early.
I actually am looking forward to that. I also know that they've yet to air "Song of the South" and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", and I think Tron may be eligible for airing.
I'm more curious about the comments on the wiki link. Do they actually have the unedited versions of "Melody Time" and "Make Mine Music"
...dear god, that last one is a tear jerker.
I used to listen to the entrance music when I was doing math homework.
I hope so. I don't think I've ever seen the whole version of "Make Mine Music".
Literally ran right into that one, he did.
Where's Zoro?
>A QUARTER?
>That's a lot of money
Man, inflation is a bitch.
On one of the nostalgia channels. Cozy or Antenna or something...
Well they gotta awkwardly shoehorn that Mickey ride into the park somewhere because it's not like they can just put it into the animation building and relocate Launch Bay's meet and greets to somewhere else in the park like the theater they've been showing the clip show nobody cares about in.
Oh, I forgot about that one. They haven't shown that, yet.
Did they really need to green/bluescreen that? They probably could've just mounted the camera onto the hood, or a piece of wood in front.
And now for the part most of us know...
So why not mash all those horse movies into one? Call it Mickey's Horse With a Flying Tattooed Head.
Sounds like a yahoo if I ever heard one
I swear, the more I hear Haley talk, the more she sounds like an older Kathryn Beaumont
There is a bit of Alice in her voice.
...
That portrait looks like it'd fit right in over at the Haunted Mansion
kek
I wish TCM would show reruns of older blocks.
I could stand for a re-airing of 'Third Man on the Mountain'
...or better still, the insanity that is 'Hockey Homicide'
Or "Johnny Tremain".
Cheeky
bump
hey it's the snowman from the rudolph stop motion movie
Yep.
The sweetness is too much...
Very tattooed horse moving at iNcredibly high speeds
Man this Pollyanna is such a pollyanna!
The fridge is calling for her, isn't it?
That was pretty heavy having a kid get crippled
Finally, we get to the cartoon!
We could use more of them
Time to play another game of 'Guess the Celebrity'
>caricatures of 1930's actors
Well shit, I had a hard enough time recognizing all the cameos in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Here's a list of all the celebrity cameos
en.wikipedia.org
Last June had a decent amount of them.
none of those were what I was expecting
Well, what were you expecting?
Well, I think I'm gonna go off to bed.
