Hey Sup Forums, why is this book so based?

love this birb
lob dat birb
Interesting characters and an involving story.
I'm thinking I should try Castellucci's novels, and I normally wouldn't have any interest in Young Adult fiction at all.
A lot of the appeal comes for from the great art, but characters are pretty good as well, specially the MC.
Good writer
Good artists
Strong character PoVs and a solid hook
Accessible without needing to explain everything outright
Shade's the best, of course, but I was really starting to like River and Teacup.
You think we'll see them again?
hoot hoot
AVIAN ALIEN HUMAN BODY CONTAMINATION INSANITY MADE LESBIAN TEEN PREGNANT BY A VENGEFUL GHOST BULLY
NO THAT'S NOT FROM TIMECUBE THAT HAPPENED HERE

>You think we'll see them again?
Probably, i think both still have a lot potential to grow as characters, specially Teacup.
thanks for the recap allcaps user
Too bad it sells bad
Hopefully Way and DC will be content with letting them get to 18 issues
Good writing and art I'd guess.
She's such a flaky asshole but god do I find her attractive.
Everyone's predicting good trade sales though, much like Vertigo's line. Most people I chat too were tradewaiting for all the YA books, here's hoping they put their money where their mouth is
It sells better than most of the Vertigo. I don't think they consider it a failure.
Trade comes out this month. We will see in the September solicitations if issue 12 is the last.
Well i imagine YA cancellation threshold should be much lower than for you standard DC series.
Does any YA series even sells particularity well?
I'm personally tradewaiting. Gonna snatch up the whole YA line when the trades come out.
>Does any YA series even sells particularity well?
Doom Patrol is the best selling one
Attaching Gerard Way's name to a bunch of strange comics aimed at teenagers is the smartest thing DC has done in recent memory
I don't know if he'd have name recognition among teens. They were babies when his group was big.
Still interested in seeing how the trades do though.
She's a good birb
I'm doubtful any of the books are on the line for cancellation.
I think it's more focused on all the MCR fans that never really got into comics. The exclusive primer intro in the Record Store Day comic makes it obvious at least
You'd be surprised. The genre and style is experiencing something of a resurgence at the moment.
There's also nostalgic 20somethings into the mix as well.
Anyway, I'm too impatient for the trades. I'm gonna see if I can pick up any back issues when I go get #9 next week.
Pic related, Shade has the most gorgeous variant covers.
there's like no fan art of her and it makes me sad
not even just Variants, the regular covers tend to be gorgeous as well
there's only one thing to do
bother your favorite content creators
trips confirm time to bother some artists
>shade thread on page 1
:,)
Doom Patrol and Mother Panic are superior.
Mother Panic is the worst one though
>Doom Patrol
well, it's all a matter of which aesthetic choices you pref-
>Mother Panic
wtf are you high
But Mother Panic is the weakest of the lot
Doom Patrol is pretty good, but the ending of the arc felt rushed.
Mother Panic is honestly boring and doesn't have much of a hook beside a cool outfit.
shh no fite only birb
Woah, what is that variant from? One of the solicited issues?
It's from #4, artist is Joelle Jones
