How would a Green Lantern movie work in the DCEU?

How would a Green Lantern movie work in the DCEU?

...

Like the old movie, but done right.

Have someone thats done a few Marvel movies, make the DC Green Lantern movie.

make it about Kyle

>boring-ass Hal

Nah fuck that. Based Kyle would save the DCEU.

I never understood what people hated about the first movie, to be honest.

go find your ideas somewhere else geoff

Here's how the trailer would go
>squad of Marines patrolling a village in somewhere in the Middle East
>suddenly get ambushed by snackbars, explosions everywhere
>camera cuts to view battle from a distance, shit still exploding but suddenly there's some green flashes and the fighting stops
>camera cuts to pan in through the wreckage, with a little green streak flying past
>the camera now pans up a Marine's body lying on the ground, he's covered in blood and dirt
>you see a glowing green ring on his hand, then you see his name tape that says STEWART, and then the camera stops on his face
>his eyes open, glowing green and bright
>GREEN LANTERN CORPS

Make it about Jessica Cruz.

Make it about john

Sup Forums having terrible ideas as usual I see

Literally this movie but with John and Kyle instead

They get called to earth because the local space cop noticed a kryptonian invasion happening, it just took them awhile to get here.

alternatively the local space cop was killed at the beginning of said invasion and his ring has been floating in deep space around the moon for awhile. Hal Jordan flies an experimental space plane up there and the ring follows him back.

Don't have him go into space till the 2nd movie.

actually really we should just try and gloss over the origin story a bit to try and avoid connecting the film to the previous one which flopped, so instead we do a genre film that shows [earth lantern] doing the daily grind then at the end of the movie he/she/it hears about Darkseid's invasion (presuming the movie is set after JL, I'm pretty sure that's the plot right?) and returns home to be in the next ensemble piece

I'd be most likely about Akopolis and New Genesis
since that kinda the main storytelling of the DCEU is going with.

I wrote something some time ago about how it would be freshly recruited Lanterns Gardner and Stewart uncovering the mystery of the lost lantern of the Mogo System (like Hal did in the comics) That mystery woud take like 3/5 pf the movie so youd still have the other 2/5 to fill with origins, establishing universe, filler, meeting other lanterns etc

holy shit guys really?

its so obvious.

Make it a buddy cop movie in space. Market that shit out like GTOG. Have it be about Guy and rookie Kyle running around the galaxy looking for Hal and Sinestro, two of the top GL members who went missing on an assignment.

short kyle origin story
have killowog be like the frustrated police chief who has to deal with loose cannon Guy, he gives him rookie Kyle as punishment.
They visit a few planets following a trail of murders that are being done with a power ring of some kind. They are trying to connect it to Hal and sinestros disappearence. They bum around to a few planets, get into some fights shoot-out style. They find hal has been kept prisioner by sinestro whos gone rough and is starting his own corps using a yellow ring. The three of them burst out in a huge battle against the fledgling sinestro corp/ or parallax. They return to the guardians and inform the of sinestro going rouge. (next movie set up)

Kyle spends the movie overcoming his fears of being a human in space among other things.

Guy has a small crisis of duty and thinks about leaving the corps, but after seeing kyle man up and finding Hal, re-enforces his commitment to the GL.

Training Day in space

Rookie Hal just got the ring and went through basic with Kilowogg but now it's time for his advanced training with Sienstro. They partner up and fly through the space versions of ghetto and Hal sees first hand Sinestro's dealings with pirates, slavers, warlords, and planet scale drug dealing empires. And his crooked way of letting them continue on if they do what he says and pay his protection racket.

Sicaro in SPACE

>implying you're not samefagging for (((yous)))

With such a capable writer/director, how can it go wrong?!

I was actually hoping it'd be good, Sup Forums ;_;

Or this movie but with Hal and Sinestro.

>Shane Black Green Lantern

Fucking shit, I want this.

How does it feel to know that Jessica will make her big screen debut before your favorite Lanterns?
>Kylefags and Guyfags on suicide watch

All Ryan Reynolds movies are the same.
Hal Jordan is Ryan Reynolds
Make it anyone but Hal

nah, thats just stupid sexy hal

killowog a shit
SHIT

poozer detected

That sounds like the best idea in this thread

Just remake First Flight and change it a bit so we just have Hal Sinestro Buddy cop in spaaaace (because fuck you, if we ever set a foot on earth after the first act then it is shit already)

Just doesn't make any sense why she became a GL in the first place. How did she suddenly go from being the most fearful human on Earth, to being courageous enough to be the most qualified on (yet another) Green Lantern? It just isn't feasible. Having a single moment of courage does not make her a courageous person.
Countless soldiers out their risking their lives for the sake of others, but this girl who stood up to Volthoom once is suddenly the most worthy? Lazy writing.

Make it two Earth GLs
Veteran GL (Hal, Guy, or John)
And Rookie GL (Kyle, Simon, or Jessica)

Villains likely stick with not the biggest baddy but one of their well knowns.
Sinestro or Manhunters for example.

Perhaps a big sacrifice of the veteran near the end to give the rookie the emotional boost.

>Hal Jordan has already been off Earth for years since the ring found him
>Trench warfare on several planets against the Yellow Lanterns
>Surprisingly, John, Guy and Kyle already have their rings as well and have been fighting alongside Hal
>Basically a military space opera

>Lanterns
>Trech warfire

I say make it about Alan Scott. That way they could introduce Earth 2, and incorporate the multiverse into future movies. That also gives them the chance to crank out a JSA film, and also answers the question in every DC film: Why isn't Superman just flying in and taking care of this?
I even liked Nu52 Scott. DC managed to take an established character, make them gay, and not turn all SJW about it. It was genuine, deep love shared between two people, and Sam dying again made Alan ultimately surrendering his humanity to his duty as the avatar of The Green make perfect sense to me.

That and the comic has been playing her up as being nearly useless with the ring. Like anytime another hero or villain attempts using one and they can barely make themselves float much less a poorly formed boxing glove.

Jessica is like some random human that just so happened to get a ring for no actual reason and has zero talent for it.

With Kryptonians invading Earth, Apocalypse invading Earth, a living mother box is walking around on it, and somehow Apocalypse armies have been defeated twice, the Guardians could list the Earth as a unique high risk/High Importance location and start recruiting more lanterns from it just in case of future issues.

One lantern can be the main one recruited from Earth and has been a lantern the whole time and they train the new recruits. Like Hal or John now has to train 2-3 new Earth human lanterns and get them used to space and dealing with all the weird shit that exists out there.

Or Guy is the lantern trainer on Oa, who was recruited after being abducted 10+ years ago and has been in space all along. Abin Sur recently died either to Kryptonians or Steppenwolf and the ring went to a new human, then the Guardians recruited a second human too because of the high danger of the world. So they end up with Kyle and Jessica that Guy now has to babysit/train.

Meanwhile Sinestro is working on his yellow ring project in secret because he thinks the Guardians are corrupt and need to be removed so he can replace the GLC. Seeing Earth as some super special place of importance, he tests out an unfinished ring on a local human with paranoid schizophrenia Alex Nero. He is the main antagonist through half the movie until they uncover Sinestro's plot but then he has his own perfected yellow ring for the third act fight.

Thwy make trenches with their rings in space

Don't see why you can't make your own Doughnut steal oc donotsteal Lantern. Just let him come from NotGermanEmpire during the NotWW1.

oh wait this is Sup Forums and not /tg/

Hal, Jon Kyle and Guy are already Lanterns, then make lethal weapon in space with Hal and Jon and end it with Jessica getting her ring and set that shit up for Sinestro Corps War

She has an extremely bad case of agorophobia, her getting out of bed and leaving her house is her overcoming great fear. That's the only thing you have to do to qualify as a green lantern

That said her not being able to make proper constructs yet is getting a bit boring, but she's only been a green lantern for a year
