New Yorker crap

Why is it always the New Yorker the makes the worst comic strips

>No meat touching ma'am.

>Bourgeoise feminism

Somebody forgot to tell this guy that the New Yorker's comics are meant to be charming and quaint.

Yeah, plus it fails the New Yorker universal caption test, wherein all New Yorker cartoons must be able to use the caption, "Christ, what an asshole!"

What nu-male is responsible for this?

T H I C C

...

>catwoman
>fighting supervillains

nah, i say it works here. They're clearly walking away from someone or at least 3 monster looking things

he signed his name right there on the art, you ass

TOM

or maybe it says FOIL, I can't tell

How kafkaesque

How did I know this was going to be Wonder Woman-related. Can't have an actual New Yorker thread, has to be company wars bs.

If it's not a jew I'll be shocked

The asshole should to be the center of attention, like in pic related.

Sexism is ingrained in Usa. Removing it, is removing America.

>catwoman
>not an anti-hero
Nigger, do you even read comics?

>How did I know this was going to be Wonder Woman-related

the thumbnail?

That's not what he said at all.

>A paper nobody reads anymore on the verge of death hires progressive millennials that work on the cheap.

Somebody make a cartoon about that.

There needs to be an edit where Captain underpants is in the background and the caption reads "Christ, what an asshole. "

Booth is the only good New Yorker cartoonist left alive, and when he goes there will be only god awful hacks like Roz Chast left

i'm pretty sure she has been a full blown mob boss since nu52

explain

...

Why are their boobs all flopping out.

With Booth there's nothing to explain, his comics are only occasionally possessed of a punchline, the "joke" is that the guy's life is shit and hes telling this banal nonsense to a dog that doesnt understand or give a fuck. Like Charles Addams before him he usually crafts a weird, offputting situation to poke fun at daily life rather than trying to be ha-ha funny.

This is the only New Yorker artist I'm acquainted with, because I'm a philistine who doesn't read newspapers.

>Charles Addams Hivemind

Forgot the image.

Like, Booth has this whole series of comics, spanning literal decades, about his loser who sits in a bathtub pontificating loudly while his wife ignores him to do chores and an ever increasing number of cats lay about the house.

...

Didn't she murder a bunch of people?

Please tell me this is an edit.

I'm sure they were all misogynists, so it's fine.

>I wanna

I think that works better the actual caption they chose.

>ever increasing number of cats

That sounds amazing. Is there somewhere with the comics compiled?

This is actually funny to me. I view the caption as being ironic. It's like a shit-covered grin to feminists.

If you're talking about recently in Batman where she was accused of killing 200 something people, no, it was revealed she just took the blame for Holly.

No, she wanted to take the fall for her adoptive daughter/protege and they were terrorists.

Lasted like 10 issues, it wasn't like Black Cat, she was doing it as a Matches Malone style "keep your enemies close" schitck.

>Christ, what an asshole

That's because the man is telling the truth and, rather than accept that truth has no gender bias and that women don't have a monopoly on it, you label it mansplaining.

Mansplaining is just code for "you have a Y-chromosome-argument invalid".

he has a few collections out there, check libgen

>(((New Yorker)))
What do you expect? That city is the end result of the cultural marxist game. Soulless, dirty, crime infested, liberal, and devoid of culture.

this

>Sickos

I don't know dude. This thread seems to be making their case for them.

I remember my dad had an enormous book with literally every New Yorker cartoon ever made up until the early 2000s. I would spend entire days reading the whole thing cover to cover. It was interesting seeing how the comics changed over the course of almost a century.

Oh really

Is that the actual dialogue?

You sound triggered.

yes

Aren't you just adorable.

...

Does he also write Heathcliff?

that clearly says "Torb"

"Mansplaining," "manspreading," anymore quirky non-issues I should know about?

Mansplaining is a real issue with a retarded quirky name that hopelessly dooms any argument it's used in.
If you're talked down and undermined, the constructive reaction isn't to try to do the same to your interlocutor. You just end up creating an endless cycle where the argument centers on itself without seeking a solution.

Based Uncle Fester

>and Catwoman too!
This is the type of comic that occurs when you have to make one every day.

All that power and you're still hurt by words.

>All that power and you're still hurt by words.

that would unironically be a better and more poignant caption

It's disingenuous to say that only men do this.

The wind doesn't carry away words. They linger forever. It's impossible to oppose them for they don't have a physical body you can attack. In a balanced community they are the deadliest weapon.

...they say as they weaponize language

Yes, but it's a problem when there's significant nepotism and tradition placing men in higher positions of power and then denying women the ability to climb up by unconciously treating them as inferior.
It's a very specific issue that doesn't really apply to "stop mansplaining to me how superpowers work", but it might be good to even argue about it at the level since it sets a precedent.

Ideally, it'd be nice if nobody was an asshole, of course. But that's the one thing that trascends all barriers.

>"YOU DIDN'T PROTECT A GOD DAMNED THING!"

no one here is saying that.
the core complaint, when you chop away all the shitposting for reblogs and self-aggrandization is that putting men in charge of women's health issues is like putting someone who has never had a job in their life in charge of worker's rights.

we're also saying that putting a 'quippy' label on it and letting than be applied to crap like internet arguments over if getting kicked in the cunt hurts more than being kicked in the nuts or not has completely undermined the capacity to talk about the actual legislative issues that can effect a woman's ability to be a healthy and fully contributive member of the workforce

As they say, "The pen is mightier than the sword". Words can influence how large groups of people think, feel, and behave, and in that sense, they're extremely powerful.

Yes, but they quickly realised it was stupid and didn't continue with that sort of garbage in mainline Wondie comics.

>crap like internet arguments over if getting kicked in the cunt hurts more than being kicked in the nuts or not
One of those is objectively more painful, though.

Sensation Comics was an anthology book. So it never affected Azzarello's Wonder Womanin the first place. Also, depending on when that issue was published, the next writer may have used that sort of preachy dialogue anyway. DC was pretty open about the title being an opportunity for people to use Diana as a mouthpiece.

>user goes to watch a animeted movie alone

Only the first black mask that I know of

Feminist always need to inject their agenda.

>fighting misogyny

I don't get it, do publishing companies now just hire literally anyone, including those who don't know the definitions of the words they use?

I don't like crazy people hijacking Wonder Woman but at least she's a success.

The sword can remove those same people from existence
There's a reason no great conflicts are solved with rap battles or poetry contests

That's why America and the USSR nuked each other.

The New Yorker in a shellnut

Reminder

Sensations Comics were a mistake.

A lone guy with a sword can't do much. If he wants whatever cause he's fighting for to succeed, he's going to have to convince other people to join him. Violent coercion is one way of controlling people, but it's not the only way, and often not the best way even from a self-interested standpoint.

And anyway, in Western society, interpersonal violence is almost never accepted. That makes ideas the main means of influencing people.

Pretty much. Amusingly, Donald Trump in a way is living proof of the power of words.

What the fuck.

Kinda spooky

Because they're mostly done by out of touch old guys.

Is this a meta joke because the artist drew Wonder Woman with massive tits and Catwoman with plunging cleavage, revealing it is in fact impossible to fight misogyny in the realm of fiction because the artist/writer will always be in control of their characters thereby depriving them of the agency needed to tackle real world problems?

Or is it just bland uninspired unfunny shit? Either way, those are some nice tits on Wondy.

This is a "lol fags" type of joke, isn't it.

Yes, yes it is. Batman and Robin gay jokes will never die.

>reading comics

This is why Damian is necessary. No one would joke about Batman fucking Robin if Robin is his actual son.

Most people don't know who Damian is, and they probably never will.

> needs it's own word to explain exactly what's going on
> non issue
Kek

>No one would joke about Batman fucking Robin if Robin is his actual son
No, they'd probably just find it hot.

I know this is probably bait, but those things don't need specialised descriptions. "mansplaining" is the same as "talking down to someone" and "manspreading" is the same as "sitting down when you have a cock and balls between your legs"

there another comic where some guy hero calls an alien baby a he and some female hero gets triggered about how assumed its gender. think it was marvel

>Feminism being Cancer again?
>Feminism being Cancer again.

"Look who has come out of his cave!"

Man, hold on to that innocence.
