Let's settle this: is he lawful neutral or chaotic neutral

let's settle this: is he lawful neutral or chaotic neutral

Chaotic. He attempts to see the world in lawful terms but is unable to cope with the realities, which drive him to break the law and hurt innocent individuals.

The Comedian is lawful neutral, ironically.

chaotic lawful

Chaotic. He exists and functions outside traditional law structures, and struggles with the paradox of Utilitarianism this presents. He's a vigilante, but hates Ozy for taking this thought process to a "logical" end (despite praising Truman for dropping the bomb, justified with a similar thought process).

He is not a D&D character so he isn't any alignment.

Those aren't really things.

lawful good played by an autistic

>Lawful
What the fuck?

Chaotic Good, idiot. Right and wrong are so important to Rorschach that after realizing they didn't exist, he decided to create those concepts themselves. That's as Good as you can get.

Note: Good alignment doesn't necessarily mean you're a nice person or fun to be around.

Who the hell would ever think he's lawful given the fact that didn't give up being a superhero like the law demanded? Plus he's murdered people, including cops.

He has a lawful neutral world-view but his MO is more chaotic neutral.

When is The Question getting an expansion?

Except he doesn't do things to help others. He doesn't improve anyone's lives. He has no real desire to save anyone. He just wants to hurt the people he deems deserving of pain. He's CN leaning into evil, until he's faced with the final expression of his worldview and violently rejects it (and his mask/face) as a result. Walter Kovacs was a good man. Rorschach is a violent psychopath with a god-complex.

chaotic good
hes basically /pol.

I wasn't aware hypocrites and murderers are "good".

he does things to help others all the time. he tries to avenge comedians death and alert his fellow watchmen that something is amiss. he avenges that little girl who got fed to the dogs. your probably just a liberal or intellectual or smooth talker.

hes not a hypocrite. manhatten snd that other guy are the hypocrites. dispencing justice is not hypocritcal.

The only people he cares about are those who have directly benefited him. He kills because he elected himself judge jury and executioner. At least Ozy has the defense of feeling remorse at his killings. Rorschach is a mad dog. He has no desire to improve the world. Just hurt others. Maybe he found a less horrendous way to do it, but he still only hurts others.

He condemns rapists and murderers, but gladly worked with the murdering rapist Comedian. He applauds Truman's use of the nuke but is disgusted by Ozy doing the same. Killing people at your own digression is in no way justice.

>Who the hell would ever think he's lawful given the fact that didn't give up being a superhero like the law demanded?

That's not how Lawful works. Lawful is not following "laws" it is having predictability, a code, and conviction. He is absolutely lawful. He does not give up his mask because he is bound to it. He has a clear set of guidelines he follows in life.

Comedian is most definitely lawful evil.

pure chaos

Alignment systems are shit!

Comedian is Chaotic Neutral. He has no ethic code and has no problem with raping and murdering despite knowing the "badness" of his actions. But he's also, ultimately, concerned about the well being of humanity and is absolutely devastated when he learned what Ozymandias' true plans were. One could argue that every asshole, almost-villain things he does throughout his life were to wake people up about what was really going on in the world. He wanted them to leave conformity for once and open their eyes.

Chaotic, a personal code isn't lawful, it has to be lawful to laws set by groups, not self

>a personal code isn't lawful

Nope. That's the wrongest description of law vs chaos there is. You can be lawful in a world without laws. Lawful good thieves can exist if they have a personal code of "don't steal from children" this a compass for their actions. They could murder people in their sleep, but they can still be lawful because of the conviction they hold.

Also, there's this entirely middle section known as "Neutral" inbetween lawful and chaotic.

chaotic lawful. he has a strict deontological code but doesnt answer to any authority figure.

>chaotic lawful
