Why is a black kid the "ultimate" spiderman while the white guy in the movies is not?

Why is a black kid the "ultimate" spiderman while the white guy in the movies is not?

Not a racial question just why? I actually like this costume better but why is someone else "ultimate?"

Is this bait? Peter was Ultimate Spider-Man before he was.

Ultimate was the name of marvel's alternate universe, of which spider monkey was a part of. They abandoned that entire continuity and moved him to the main universe instead.

Those adjectives in the titles don't actually mean anything.

Don't read much comic books, do you?

I wanna hear a justification of having two heroes sharing the sane name. Dude needs to get his own identity. Arachnid or something.

but there's allowed to be 3 guys named The Flash, like 5 people called Green Lantern, 4 guys called Robin, 2 Captain Americas

>but there's allowed to be 3 guys named The Flash

currently 2, one was mentored by the other and you don't lose the title once you earn it

>like 5 people called Green Lantern

where do you live where only one guy gets to call himself a cop?

>4 guys called Robin

there is only one Robin

>2 Captain Americas

similar to the Flash in that it was directly passed on to someone important to the other guy

Honestly the problem is the universe merge. Miles having the same name made sense before but he is just a ripoff currently. It's not a proper legacy.

Meh, your points are weak, it's not unprecedented to have multiple versions of the same character.

That being said.....Miles was sort of a token character, but he was relatively well written in an era where they were just gutting the Ultimate universe.

The writing is crap now of course, and the character doesn't serve much purpose in the 616 universe.

No, thats a problem too. Talk about lazy writing, I hate this is becoming more common

Boy wait til you hear about Perfect Spider-Man, the gay arab transsexual. Marvel think they slick.

That was the 6th Green Lantern.

..Which makes him Penultimate Spider-Man! Fa fa fa fa!

Except he is not Arab, gay or trans. He's an American of Arab ethnicity.

Mind you.

Seven Green Lanterns from Earth.

And they are ALL Yankees?

The Peter Parker in his universe was dead when he took up the name.

did the black one kill him?

Even worse, three of them happen to be from the state of Michigan.

No it was Norman Osborn

Read comics shitposting idiot

They're using Peter Parker for the movie because that's the only Spider-man that non-comic fans have heard of. Your picture is of Miles Morales, a relatively new character who also goes by the name Spider-man. "Ultimate Spider-man" was the title of the comic he originally appeared in, but that isn't his name.

You fucking baka ass motherfucker. Leave this fucking board and then neck yourself afterwards you fucking waste of human life.

But hes alive in he one hes in now idiot

Because making it official that he's the secondary guy would get either Bendis or the PC audience/media mad. Remember that people care about his skin so much they thought he deserved to be the "Spider-man" from the new movies

This silenced truth is hilarious. Just think of the toys marketers that have to come up with their own names just to be able to sell him

So now he's suppose to change his name because he got dropped into another universe? The same universe also has two Captain Americas, two Hulks, two Thors, and two Hawkeyes.

Spider-Boy, Boy Spider.

Why are peopel taking this Sup Forums bait?

Ultimate is the name of the universe he comes from

There's no significant difference between this and there being 2 Flashes

>So now he's suppose to change his name because he got dropped into another universe?

Yes? He shouldn't even have gotten dropped in 616 in the first place. Miles should have died off with the rest of the Ultimate U. But because Bendis has to be Bendis and likely threw a shitfit over not having his special snowflake Miles survive, he got to carry over. There is literally no justification for Miles continuing to exist, other than Bendis being a bitch over having his OC die.

This. Sales cannot even justify Miles continuing to exist. He's had declining numbers since his inclusion to 616. The last few months, Miles' book barely even broke 30k in sales and is still declining.

Technically speaking bring a Green Lantern is being a member of the Nova Corp. It's more like a job title than anything else so there's like a gorillion Green Lanterns.

7200 at any given time. Plus 'honor lanterns'.

To be fair, the white guy is also spectacular, amazing, and a friendly neighborhood.
So not being ultimate is no big deal.

Don't forget Sensational and Unlimited.

No one actually cares in universe that much so it isn't like some continuous bitch fest where people spend 20 issues wishing for a new name. Miguel is confused for classic Spider-Man and shrugs it off, miles says he is one of many Spider-Men, etc. The Scarlet Spiders dislike it but seem to be the only ones (Kaine just doesn't want to be seen as the hero and Ben recently seemed insulted by it).

Isn't this the 3rd time this topic has been posted in like 4 days? The others were completely different wording but all asked the same thinf

Miles was a legacy too, he just got transplanted to a universe where the OG Spider-Man is still alive.

If your examples are okay then so is Miles.

Any way it takes to escape Michigan.

And when that happened, he lost the Ultimate title.

>you don't lose the title once you earn it
Which is the exact reason why there's two Spider-men.

>Sales cannot even justify Miles continuing to exist
>62 54 Spider-Man 15 $3.99 Marvel 34,013
That's higher than most of Marvel's current comics. It's higher than Dr. Strange, Avengers, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Daredevil, Iron Fist, or Iron man.

Did you not read the entire post? The universe merge is was wrecked it and they need to establish it again. It makes no sense why he would randomly name himself after a hero who hasn't retired or disappeared.

Like when New Earth happened over at DC they still went on to explain why Jay and Alan had the same name as the other Flashes and GLs. They didn't just slap everything together have characters with same names coexisting confusingly.

>universe merge
There was no universe merge. Molecule Man copy and pasted Miles over as a favor. Miles is still from the Ultimate Universe.

>universe merge
The universe merge that never happened?

The cartoon called him Kid Arachnid because it would have been too confusing to have two guys named Spider-man in the cast.

It's a merge when he has a history in the main universe now. He has to have a reason for having the same name now because the original one doesn't apply.

>like 5 people called Green Lantern
That's a job title, user. That's being a space cop.

Well people are still being dumb this far into the week, and I expect it to continue

How does it not apply? The events of the Ultimate Universe still happened to him, for the people of 616 he just sort of showed up one day and Peter basically said "cool, whatever, great responsibility and all that shit".

Yes, it does apply if you paid attention you'd realize Miles still remembers the ultimate universe.

Alan Scott isn't a space cop.

Is this bait or have we finally hit maximum Sup Forums?

he's also not in the main universe right now but when he was his ring still came from corps shit

Ultimate universe is coming back it Ultimates 2 100 my friends so miles might remember that his mom died and the mom he's living with is a fake that MM created for him. Also Spider-Men 2 is happing in July so we'll get the real 616 miles vs ultimate miles

hes also probably dead, in mr.oz's jail or wherever doctor Manhattan has the rest of the JSA. their forgetting that the earth 2 new 52 run happened so Alan might no be a gay old man when he returns and we might get Jade back

No that actually makes Peter the penultimate spider-man, and Miles the ultimate spider-man.

They don't have to forget it. It's just a separate universe. Superman being black on Earth-23 doesn't make him black on Earth-0.

Learn to fucking type moron.

kay user I will

I know.
