Shiny
The one where the crab sings shiny
The crab that sings shiny

It's a pretty mediocre movie. Frozen is the patrician movie.

Is it true the whole movie is on pornhub?

Go back in time and fuck off to /frz/

But I agree, though I think Moana is better than mediocre

>not Zootopia

I liked it. A tad generic but decent. I'm getting tired of Disney's recent "YOU'RE A PRINCESS LOL GEDDIT IT'S A DISNEY MOVIE WE'RE BEING SELF-REFERENTIAL" sense of humor tho.

Has a villian ever btfo of a hero as good as Shiny crab did?

You could feel the pain as he crushed Maui

Overall it was meh. Maui was a fairly fun character but Moana was flat and uninteresting. The crab and shiny were both terrible and the movie could've not had them and lost nothing. You're Welcome is the best song. The story was stock but had some good parts. Visually it was excellent. 6/10. I enjoyed the short before the movie about the bird being afraid of water a lot more.

There's only one thing I have against this movie, which is:

You know the scene where she puts the sea shell on the stones at the end of the movie?

Moana basically just fucked up the family tradition for every leader that comes after her, because how the hell are you supposed to stack a stone on top of a sea shell? You better hope to god that the following leaders are good at Jenga, because they're gonna have one hell of a time otherwise.

Excellent Hyuk

gb2trash, furfag

you're welcome
the opening scene
maui

umm.. that short was before Dory, Vaiana had "Inner Workings" that were a homage/copy of Reason and Emotion short from war time.

WELL, TAMATOA HASN'T ALWAYS BEEN THIS GLAM

fpbp

It suffered from a lack of a main charismatic, love-to-hate, satisfactory defeated villain and a lack of locations. Otherwise a very good movie with amazing visuals and a hot, charismatic main girl.

I didn't really care for any of the songs, but I liked how it made me want to go sailing. So I guess the people exploring the oceans song and they end were my favorite parts.

im mostly happy that the mc was able to keep BOTH her parents. her grandma died,
but that was expected, even though she came back as a manta ray ghost

>>Favorite character?
The Ocean. Seriously.

Off yourself scum

Anyone have a webm of Maui using his full power against Te Ka? That was pretty cool

Shiny and We Know The Way
The one with the Mad Max coconuts
Tamatoa aka the crab

i didn't like this movie much, and i think it's because of maui. he was an asshole the whole movie, and in the end, moana didn't even need him to give that chick her rock or whatever.

>Moana accepting that she has to deliver the heart herself
>Your Welcome
I loved this movie.

>Moana didn't even need him to give that chick her rock or whatever

i think you missed the point of the movie

If there is, I'd kinda like to watch it. Its always really fun watching a villain totally curb stomp the hero, and it makes their defeat much more satisfying

Let's be honest as great as shiny was that song was made for Bowie, shame star man passed on.

Grandma was my favorite, but I love Moana, too. I liked everybody (and wish there was more glam crab like everyone does), but at the same time I think it could've been stronger if they focused less on the buddy adventure angle with Maui.

Favorite song/scene both:

I thought the point was that she was putting an end to the tradition since they weren't stuck on the island anymore.

But the movie has no Sjw propaganda and isn't diverse? Is it sjw to you just because it has a female lead?

Shiny

Tamatoa

>Favorite song

"Shiny".

>Favorite scene

The one with the coconuts.

>Favorite character

Either Maui or the crab. Moana's grandma was cool too.

This movie was garbage

1. Boring characters. Both of them look disgusting. Moana looks generic at best.

2. Entire boring plotline on a fucking boat

3. Rehashed backstories. Moana is an Ariel rip off

4. Jokes are flat or they trying to be meta

5. Songs were horrible, so forgetable and not catchy at all. They were mostly spewing exposition in most cases.

6. The forced chicken and little tatoo guy tried too hard as typical Disney mascots

7. The cute lovable pig was false advertising, and didn't actually go on the quest as the trailers implied he would

8. That fucking ending, good to know the main hero is responsible for the death of everyone who ever dies, and not only goes scott free, but also gets rewarded

Seriously fuck this movie. A typical production made by black suits and created out of every Disney archetype. Seriously making a main character a woman or black will automatically have critics rate this as 95% on rotten tomatoes. Fucking brainless SJW's.

Get bent you Belgian fuck.

This pasta is shit

The movie was unironically unoriginal and the graphics didn't push, or advance, the technical envelope. That said, I didn't think it was garbage but was probably the biggest let-down on animation of the 2016 season.

>Frozen = Patrician
False, you can not defend the scenes with the trolls

...

Zootopia

Ariel wanted to go somewhere else due to pure curiosity and wanting to fuck a guy, and Moana wanted to because it's in her DNA. They got held back by their fathers for different reasons too. Sea King because he hates humans and Chief because his friend died. Sea King ended up wrong, but the chief was still right, it's just that Moana gained enough skill to bypass the danger. Also, all Disney princess movies have sidekicks and songs.
Te Ka isn't a sea monster, and the fact that she's "larger than life" means nothing. This shitposting is garbage.

Good that Sup Forums still can't criticize things for shit.

That makes a lot of sense actually.

>Falling for the Sup Forums bait pasta

Yeah that's what I got from it

Prince Ali reprise

I want to culturally enrich her hard.

>Ariel wanted to go somewhere else due to pure curiosity and wanting to fuck a guy, and Moana wanted to because it's in her DNA.

It doesn't matter why they go on their quests. At the end of the day the why is irrelevant. The why is just an excuse to regurgitate the same story. Girl wants something she can't get at home. Girl goes on quest with lovable sidekick while singing pop songs.

>tfw before opening the thread I figured everyone would say exactly this, and of course I'm right
Sup Forums is old and predictable, and getting less fun every day.

Yep, the stones represent terra firma and the shell represents the ocean. First user confirmed for not grasping gradeschool level symbolism.

Look at this newfag replying to obvious bait. Lurk more, newfag.

>The why is just an excuse to regurgitate the same story.

that applies to fiction in general

I know it's bait but
>hates generic mascots
>wanted the loyal/helpful/cute/mascot archtype pig to be the mascot

i dont think i will ever get tired of the heroes journey

i actually prefer it played straight then when people try to spin it too much

Moana's intentions in the beginning were identical to Ariel's, but eventually she gets a new, stronger purpose which is reconnecting the destiny of her entire people. That's way more than "I wanna see new stuff".

Maui does a haka to disyract Te Ka, as a NZer his poor pronounciation and lack fierceness is hilarious, everyone had a good laugh in the theatres when it happened

>I want to culturally enrich her hard
Same

What is THIS you fucking retard? At least give the name of the movie if you start a whole fucking thread about your unique experience.

Seriously? It's Moana

i was too distracted by how pretty the animation was in the movie to actually notice anything else

taking talents from Pixar did them well, shame the other company is not doing so well anymore.

Whatever happened to that one user who was gonna redo that song and scene with Tamatoa as a human?

The first song was amazing and is super underrated.

Also the graphics artists did a suberb job in this film. These cg films are more often a technical rather than story-telling triumpth.

I honestly don't know if that's a compliment or not.

Damn this was a short thread.

id like to see them fuck

The scene in the cave with the visions

Moana. She's cute.

Overall I found it enjoyable, but not on the level of great. Songs were decently composed, although I found a few rhymes weird, like Sea and See, or Island and Island.

Describe anything broadly enough, and it will sound like a copy of something else.

I thought it was pretty okay, but maybe they spent too much time at the home island. Better than Frozen but probably not as good as Zootopia. Although it got extra points from me for featuring Polynesian stuff, which is what Bionicle was first based off of and was one of my favorite series growing up.
What are you talking about those rhymes are fine. I know (secondhand though) that Lin Manuel Miranda does lean on half rhymes a bit harder than usual, which is fine for rap or fast pace stuff and less so for longer drawn out singing, but most of the stuff seemed fine.

The level of detail is truly amazing

>user constructs a reality in which he is persecuted based on nothing but the delusions of a scandanavian ping-pong forum

The examples of what I'm talking about for weird rhymes to me:

...
>The trunks and the leaves
...
>And no one leaves

>I know, everybody on this island seems so happy on this island
>I know, everybody on this island has a role on this island

I mean, they're not many, I just find homonym, homophone, and same word rhymes kind of weird.

Also you find he ends rhymes on many repeated words throughout songs (like Sky and high, along with many lyrics ending with sea, breeze, me, star and are... Then again those are just motifs. Overall, me finding those rhymes kind of weird doesn't mean the songs are bad, it's just my opinion from the experience.

That musical shit talk was real

"You will die die die, and I will take apart, your aching heart"

...

>Ariel wanted to go somewhere else due to pure curiosity and wanting to fuck a guy,

The reasons they go on their quests or what they were after is irrelevant.

Besides going on a quest for dick is a more noble cause than going on a quest for muh femonizam

>Describe anything broadly enough, and it will sound like a copy of something else.
True, but some films like Moana, and The Swan Princess make it just a little more obvious

>Image very related.

Lot of scenery porn nut flexing like "The good dinosaur" Disney showing off thier shiny physics engines and algorithms.

That "song" was nothing more than a sad, and disrespectful attempt at ripping off David Bowie's style of music.

Learn the difference between ripping off and paying tribute to

It's very covenant to call it "paying tribute" or a "parody" when you wanna get away with stealing someone else's work/ideas.

Frozen is way better

You can't steal from yourself, idiot. That's asset re-use.

>Disney can't steal from Disney
You're thinking of Disney as a whole. I was thinking of the individual artist who brought life to the characters.

>Favorite character?
There's only 2 asking favorite character is like which undeveloped person fit your ideals the most?

>2. Entire boring plotline on a fucking boat
What a shit complaint, you get the most character development in a single scene

I just watched it because of this thread, and liked a lot.
It was dissapointing seeing only three enemies, though. I was expecting a montage of mythical creatures
Also, the sea looked like it didn't know what is was doing. How could it not know that the lava monster was the green god?
What a retarded piece of saltwater.
>Unghh... I want humans to sail all over me... mh, yes, use your rows...

I do get the hate though. It wasn't very original, but was A E S T H I C as fuck.
I like the direction humor is turning in Disney movies, subvering a bit the cliches, being self-aware. Not 24/7 meta, just cutting with the corniness
But if the story wasn't water-related, the comparissons to The Little Mermaid wouldn't hold, those are just common tropes.

>individual artist
wait, you think some random animation director decided to rip off other Disney animations?
Disney was low on budget. It wasn't a decision the animators took.

I never noticed the similarities. Also retarded post.

Pic related is an exception because that movie was an attempt to cash in on all the fairytails Disney had been putting out. Interest in 2D animation had been declining and Disney was the only producer in the field at the time, so animation companies attempted to emulate its formula.
