Be honest

Be honest,

Whether you like or hate the ship, do you think Adventure Time has the balls to make Bubbline canon again supposedly if they did date before

I wouldn't mind, but I doubt it

maybe in the last episode

Ehh, they'll probably strongly imply it. If they were going to make it explicit, they would've done it by now.

I want Finn to get a fucking girl. Don't care which one, I just want him to not be pathetic.

Finn is an independent strong male, he don't need no woman to make him good.

the only worthwhile girls in the show, from a relationship standpoint, are marceline and flame princess, and marceline is a raging lesbo and fp hates his guts still

True, but Finn would clearly like to be in a lasting relationship at some point.

You forgot Huntress.

Huntress is gonna get grassed

I hate this meme. They barely have enough time to develop Fern as is, giving him a romance arc would be a colossal waste of time.

>Finn getting being the hero and getting the girl
>Current year
I've given all hope man. These writers are done with Finn and Jake.

>I wouldn't mind,
ew

I hate this so much, neither were implied to be gay before that stupid fucking mini. They both had previously dated male prior to that, and never showed any lesbian tendancies, PB herself even had a thing for Finn when she got de-aged. Then the writers decided to throw that out because they wanted to tell an interesting and deep story, and by that I mean surface level lesbians so they could feign dpeth and complexity. It was all fucking virtue signalling to top what sugar did on the show, which was asinine and probably what got Pendleton to become distant and disillusioned with the show. Aside from that, it's been torture porn of Finn suffering with no real development till later, again, most of it was done to uproot whatever other writers had done prior.

The reson the show is ending and that it's much less popular now than it was is because of these faggot pushing an agenda instead of telling a good story. I could see if the characters started as gay, like SU, or Clarence, but they didn't. Fuck these people.

Yeah pretty much. They shutdown all the good girls being cannidates. They're going to have to introduce a new character if they want Finn to get a girl.

As long as it's not LSP it'll be tolerable but at this point I doubt he's going to get a girl at the end( though it would really be nice if he did).

>Then the writers decided to throw that out because they wanted to tell an interesting and deep story

According to Olivia and Martin Olson, it was because the writers found out that fans were shipping Marceline and Bubblegum and decided to bait them with something that wasn't their original intention and would never happen.

This exactly.

The way those two act when the writers push the ship is so completely out of character and the sad part it probably will be canon because none of the writers at this point seem to have a basic sense of who the characters were/are.

The problem exist outside of Bubbline. Almost none of the characters in the show even resemble who they were in the beginning of the series in any aspect except for visual, and the show loses so much of its character because of it.

So to answer OP's question, yes they will go through with it, and it will be as forced and lackluster as the rest of the interactions between Marceline and Bubblegum.

>All these haters
Their relationship has been handled just fine. Quit being salty that your ship didn't happen and get over it.

>Where previously dating boys
>Lesbians
Nah. That's not how it works user.

They're probably bi.

>According to Olivia and Martin Olson, it was because the writers found out that fans were shipping Marceline and Bubblegum and decided to bait them with something that wasn't their original intention and would never happen.

Sauce pls

huntress is not even approaching mentally stable and is terrible relationshjp material

It's been canon for several seasons. What show are you watching?

I would almost be more surprised if their wedding wasn't part of season eight.

>neither were implied to be gay before that stupid fucking mini
Define lesbian tendencies, how are they supposed to act? WWM was in 2011, 4 years before Stakes aired. The idea that Marceline and PB had a past relationship was conceived by Rebecca Sugar and Adam Muto. We wouldn't know either of them would have an interest in females unless they show interest in females. They still went with it up to Sky Witch, with PB smelling the shirt Marcy gave her. Their relationship actually got attention in season 7 with "Varmints." Stakes had very little bubbline shipping fuel save for about an episode. PB no longer wanting to be with Finn died in Too Old. Even well before PB showed a lack of interest in Finn in the season 3 finale. If you're going to suggest Fubblegum was killed why is it not Finn x FP? Pen stepped down as the show runner because he is an introvert and likes to do him. The shows ending because nothing lasts forever. What agenda are they pushing? There has yet to be any romance between PB and Marcy. They're just best friends.

How is PB and Marcy showing interest in each other out of character? The characters aren't identical because it was 7 years ago.

They've never even said they HAD dated, much less that they ARE dating. Are you being retarded on purpose?

Besides the fact that, no it hasn't been 7 years within the show. People don't fundamentally change nearly every aspect of their personality and motivations, much less within the timespan, the show portrays and without any motivation do so.

The support from the ship is that they had a past relationship, and the writers purposefully left out whether or not it was romantic. What show ARE you watching? If you still think the writers are going nowhere with what they've been building up for the past 2 years you're just being purposefully oblivious

> People don't fundamentally change nearly every aspect of their personality and motivations, much less within the timespan, the show portrays and without any motivation do so
You've yet to provide any example that matches this allegation

>no it hasn't been 7 years within the show
Besides the point, characters naturally change due to new writers and storyboarders.

>The support from the ship is that they had a past relationship, and the writers purposefully left out whether or not it was romantic.

Knowing each other means that they have a canon romantic relationship?

>the writers are going nowhere with what they've been building up for the past 2 years
They've NEVER done that before. :^)

>Knowing each other means that they have a canon romantic relationship?
No
>They've NEVER done that before
Correct

>> People don't fundamentally change nearly every aspect of their personality and motivations, much less within the timespan, the show portrays and without any motivation do so
>You've yet to provide any example that matches this allegation
If you can't accept the basic premise that changing the personality of characters doesn't/shouldn't just happen without some catalyst in the story this conversation is going nowhere.

>Besides the point, characters naturally change due to new writers and storyboarders.
You aren't disagreeing with him, that's almost exactly what he said "because none of the writers at this point seem to have a basic sense of who the characters were/are"
"Almost none of the characters in the show even resemble who they were in the beginning of the series in any aspect except for visual, and the show loses so much of its character because of it"

>If you can't accept the basic premise that changing the personality of characters doesn't/shouldn't just happen without some catalyst in the story this conversation is going nowhere.
No I understand, I've yet to see any examples of this.

There is still room for plausible deniability, but come on, at this point the intent is obvious. You'd have to be willingly ignorant to not see it.

I haven't had a tv in years...

what happen to adventure time pls tell without spoiler

Well, Finn met his dad, there was a miniseries about Marceline's backstory, they developed the Betty/Ice King plotline, there was a miniseries about Finn going to find other humans, and most recently there was a miniseries about the land of Ooo being transformed by the four elements, fire, ice, candy and slime. Right now, there's only like 20 episodes left, so they're wrapping up all the plot threads.

>The idea that Marceline and PB had a past relationship was conceived by Rebecca Sugar
Sugar ruins a good show with the canonization of and focus on a tumblr lesbian ship, color me surprised.

I guess I have some torrenting to do...

Not a fan but I would be alright with it. It would just be the show finally biting the bullet and confirming something they've been hinting at consistently for like 4 years. The show coming to a close is a good time to finally have them stop being tiptoeing bitches around the issue.

But it's no skin off my back if they don't, though I'm sure there will be many accusations of queerbaiting from Tumblr. And I feel like they would have a bit of a point with that.

>I would almost be more surprised if their wedding wasn't part of season eight.
Then you're pretty dumb. They aren't even willing to show a on the mouth kiss, how they hell would they jump from that to a fucking wedding?
Maybe in some comic book a year or two after the show ends.

how cancerous this post is

iirk Sugar didn't envision them as a romantic couple, she just projected in them her relationship with her former flatmate because they didn't get along but Rebecca didn't know why

Rebecca Sugar is a hack.

>"not a fan"

" there will be many accusations of queerbaiting from Tumblr. And I feel like they would have a bit of a point with that."

Why do SJWs feel the need to dictate what things they don't actually what or care about should do, just for the sake of pushing homosexuality.

Why would they be right to complain about a show they don't watch, not pushing a ship?

Because they want to see their favorite characters scissoring on TV

Bisexuals are a thing that exist, user.

Bump

because fuck bubbline it's gonna be Korrasami all over agaon. Their homo interactions are gonna be all that they remember before the next hot on the market lesbo ship comes along and they're forgotten

Rebecca shipped fincaline though

If Bubbline does (officially) get confirmed, I don't want any of this "It's Korrasami 2.0" crap, because it's not. Korra and Asami getting together was basically out of nowhere. With PB and Marcy they have shown their relationship progression to the point that they're arguably a couple already. You got to give that to AT at least, that they did flesh out and develop their relationship.

Take your agenda somewhere else!

She probably ships everything

except Lapidot :)

>Bubbline
>Fleshed out and developed relationship

Pick one.

Korrasami and Bubbline are almost the exact same ship, except Marceline and Bubblegum were interesting characters before.

>do you think Adventure Time has the balls to make Bubbline canon

They don't need to worry cause its so progressive.

The main reason Bubbline seems "fleshed out" is because there's about 500 years worth of "backstory" that's just a blank slate that the writers can cut and piece parts together at any time to make it seem reasonable to the viewer. S1-2 PB puts dents in Bubbline because she was already flirting with Finn and her personality was wildly different than what they seem to imply she was before the show took place.

They're nothing alike in terms of characterisation or execution. You're making a shallow connection because they're both lesbian pairings, but that's where the similarities end.

Early PB (namely season 1) is not entirely consistent with current PB, I don't think anyone would deny that. That has nothing to do with how bubbline has been handled in-show though. The episodes rebuilding their relationship - WWM, Sky Witch, and Varmints in particular were great. We get to see how and why they became close again, with allusions to the past that give just enough detail for the viewer to fill in the blanks. That's what I mean by fleshed out.

>because she was already flirting with Finn
She doesn't show genuine interest until Too Young, and that's it. Other than that, it's been one-sided from Finn.

>Ship that comes out of nowhere with nowhere with no actual build-up with two characters whose interactions are incredibly forced or out of character being brought together to meet modern progressivity standards
>Not Korrasami

>Sky Witch
>Varmints
>Great

>What Was Missing
>More than platonic

>whose interactions are incredibly forced or out of character
Except they aren't. I'd even argue they're more themselves around each other.
>brought together to meet modern progressivity standards
Why you gotta be so cynical? Maybe, just maybe, they did it because they wanted to. Honestly though, this is probably true for Korrasami. Bryke were obnoxiously self-congratulatory about it.
>hetero-lens

>>Sky Witch
>>Varmints
>Great
Correct, especially the latter.

>>What Was Missing
>>More than platonic
I think the song had romantic undertones, but you could interpret it either way.

Also
>Cruz
It all makes sense now.

Did you just say "hetero-lens" unironically?

Also, Korra and Asami were at least friends 4 seasons and worked together constantly. There have been less than like 6 episodes with Marcy and PB. Korrasami is literally a better expanded on relationship than Bubbline.

>Having that shit of taste in AT episodes

I think if they wanted to they would have done it already
su's got like half a dozen lesbians so I don't know what would be stopping them

>Did you just say "hetero-lens" unironically?
No, I was mocking Bryke who claimed that if you couldn't see the romantic connection between Korra and Asami you were watching with a "hetero-lens."

>There have been less than like 6 episodes with Marcy and PB
In terms of main focus, around 6 or 7, but they actually flesh out their relationship in those episodes. Korra and Asami don't get their relationship expanded until season 3 and it's pretty stagnant from then on until the finale. I actually thought that Korrasami would happen too around halfway through s4, but the execution was weak. They barely interacted in the 4th season.

>>Having that shit of taste in AT episodes
Sky Witch and Varmints are generally highly regarded, even among those who aren't bubbline fans. They've got good action, character development, direction, pacing... why the hate?

Considering this ship, thanks to some attention whoring twit fagets, sank AT. Might as well finish with it.

*sooooooo progressive(tm) XD xoxo

fix it for you

>source: my butt

they'll probably walk into some sort of portal of spirits while holding hands, vaguely implying some kind of gaylationship in the last episode.

I hope they either retcon it and say "lol, there was never a relationship, they were always just friends" at the end, or come and say that their lesbian, and trigger massive outrage both here and in overseas markets. Either way it would be funny.

The real question is, who's the top and who's the bottom? I think that Marceline would be the dominant one, because PB, being the control freak that she is in real life, would probably enjoy relinquishing control and being submissive for once. Plus Marceline seems like she'd be the assertive type in bed. Though I could also imagine PB being a super kinky dominatrix. They probably mix things up. What do you guys think?

PB dated Mr. Creampuff. Marceline dated Ash.

Uhh he meant proof that they're bi as opposed to the confirmed hetro.

The real question is which pesticide should you use to gas yourself

>Adventure Time has the balls to make Bubbline
No. I don't believe it's their style.

It'll have to wait until after the finale. Though I'll probably drown in Fubblefag and Finncelinefag tears by then.

>Fubblefag and Finncelinefag
You say that like these people still exist. They've all but stoped looking toward the show for that and just keep it alive trough fan fiction. You're going to be very thirsty during the finale yuri-fag.

>come back to this thread a day later to find someone got buttblasted at my opinions

Yeah I'm not a fan of the pairing but tell me how they haven't been consistently hinting at it fagtron, every time PB/Marcy are in an episode since like season 5 it's full of interactions that are completely "Oh look at these good friends (or maybe something more! *wink*)."
And I would like the show to stop being so cowardly with it. If they're gonna dedicate this much fucking screentime to a relationship, actually confirm it and don't pull flip flops like the show's been doing for years. Shit, I'd still be more satisfied if they shit on all the shippers and confirmed they were just friends, because at least that would be the show confirming something.

And I agree that I won't feel too sad for SJWs if they get blown out because they've probably watched like 15 episodes of Adventure Time in total just for the ships, genderbends, and sad backstories, but the queerbaiting thing is pretty legitimate. If the show wasn't going to make them lovers/exes then it's kind of shitty of them to spend years implying otherwise, all they had to do is have an episode after WWM where they act totally platonic and give an explanation as to why they were pissed at each other and bam, no one can be pissed because it's clear to everyone that they're just bros. The show sure as shit didn't do that though.

I just want to talk about how much I hate the ship.
They had no chemistry. It was only in episodes where they expressed their dislike for one another that the autistic fanbase, strangers to human emotion, decided to start shipping them, and because the crew had no qualms about it they decided to incorporate it massively.
They're one anothers foil, not partners. Opposites rarely attract this way.

Where exactly are those from?

Marcy was attracted to Susan when she saw her in Islands.

Wait what!? I didn't know this

Source?

Sauce?

I understood that reference.

THICC

The idea that Bubbline "ruined" AT is just retarded. Bubbline is not even on the show. It's not even clear what the fuck their deal is. Casual watchers aren't even going to notice the subtext. It's not in the show. Even if they did put it in the show, there's no "political agenda," they have never discussed lgbt issues or any shit, PB is a bubblegum person and Marcy is a vampire. What the fuck is wrong with you? It sounds like you're the one trying to push an agenda.

They're never going to settle it, because why the fuck would they? Their relationship is not and has never a central aspect of the show.

Besides, it's always focused much more on Finn and his relationship troubles, so the real final pairing is Finn dating both of them

>"If the show wasn't going to make them lovers/exes then it's kind of shitty of them to spend years implying otherwise"
No it isn't, the show has multiple writers and has gone on for years, you can't blame them for aborting badly written relationships.

>Queerbaiting
>Legitimate
Tumblr please go.

>see spoilers

I wish user, I wish.

The top one is from Varmints, written by PB. The bottom one is Marceline's amp. Maybe the amp was a gift from PB, but it could also just be coincidence.

>No it isn't, the show has multiple writers and has gone on for years, you can't blame them for aborting badly written relationships.
And ALL of those different writers, who have writen Marceline and Bubblegum, have left enough room to interpret them as dykes.
You figure something like "are we gonna write these two as only friends or put in enough ambiguous hints that they were together" is something the show would decide upon. If they didn't then they're just hacks but your excuse is fucking dumb.

>details of their history have leaked out over the course of the show. we still don't have the complete picture, other than that they definitely were much closer in the past and had a falling out at some point
>whenever they're in a musical number together they hijack it to sing at each other about how annoying they find one another, in innuendo-laced lyrics
>pb sleeps in marcelines shirt, later she trades it for marcelines stuffed animal because it's got even more emotional magic juju in it
>they've appeared together constantly for several seasons, with other characters even commenting on it
it's fucking canon, man

>pb sleeps in marcelines shirt, later she trades it for marcelines stuffed animal because it's got even more emotional magic juju in it
I fucking despise that. All likes/dislikes for this ship aside, that seemed slightly like bullshit. A shirt from your lover being greater emotionally than a stuffed bear from your surrogate Dad? Come on now.

>Implying any of that is necessarily romantic

>>whenever they're in a musical number together they hijack it to sing at each other about how annoying they find one another, in innuendo-laced lyrics
>One song

>>pb sleeps in marcelines shirt, later she trades it for marcelines stuffed animal because it's got even more emotional magic juju in it
>Not a shit episode where PB acted completely out of character from start to finish
Are you just pretending to be retarded?

>>they've appeared together constantly for several seasons, with other characters even commenting on it
>Not just shit writers pushing this ship
>Not realizing constantly means like 6 episodes with the exception of Staked which wasn't about their relationship

This relationship has no confirmation of being canonically romantic, and any competent writer would abort this failure.

I sort of thought that when the episode first came out. I guess the thing is supposed to show how much PB pushes down her feelings, like she feels that strongly but rarely lets it show and focuses on her kingdom instead.
But it does seem kind of shitty becuase it makes it look like a competition, "I love you more than you love your dad!" I feel like they didn't need to phrase it in a way like that or something.

Recent interview with Shada about the ending.
youtube.com/watch?v=voIYX4lVHbo&feature=youtu.be

I thought it was the sentimental 'freshness' of the shirt. Like, the emotion put into it is more recent.

This is true for Finncelinefags, but there are a surprising number of Fubblefags who still think it could happen. Regardless, I'll enjoy watching this place blow up if they do confirm it.

Or that without interacting for like 1 season or 2 that PB was magically obsessed with Marceline enough to have that fucking weird beginning scene and have a picture of her and Marceline and no one else, even any of her more developed relationships like with Finn and Jake, her knights who she relies on for basically everything and has been shown to be great friends with.

Or even that Marceline, when going on an adventure to fight an evil witch, came to get PB, who in the old seasons would send Finn to do that exact thing. Because that's literally Finn's central character trait and there was no obvious character motivation for Sky Witch to be a Marcy and PB episode except to have both of them be out of character and force this ship in the most unnatural way possible.

what if they suddenly reveal Raggedy Princess real name is Roselinen. The dream comes true

>artificial plot to get the characters to do stuff
This happens a lot in AT. The episode even bothered to show Finn and Jake knocked out by that sleeping gas so that they couldn't be involved. And Marceline came to Bubblegum specifically because she wanted PB's smarts to get past the witch's security measures, Marcelie wouldn't go to Finn and Jake for that and PB wouldn't send them out for that kind of quest.

I don't actually like the episode either but that's because whenever Bubblegum and Marceline are on screen together my eyes sort of glaze over, but these are some nitpicky reasons. The show cares more about getting the characters they want together more than contructing the plot in a way that it totally makes 100% sense as to why, who gives a shit.

>but there are a surprising number of Fubblefags who still think it could happen
yeah like all 3 of them on Sup Forums.

digits confirm.

*Listens to interview*

WEW, it's nothing.

>Marceline came to Bubblegum specifically because she wanted PB's smarts to get past the witch's security measures
I don't know which part of what happened in that episode would Finn and Jake not been capable of solving. Nor that PB wouldn't send them to do, she's trusted them with far more before.
