I'm conflicted, I hate the art change in how it affected the show as a whole but Trix and Spud (how the fuck did I remember those names just now?) look so much better than they did earlier.

The reason that it changed was because htey found out that the original designer for the series was a furry and that he'd jack it off to the dragon designs all the time so they changed it to be more like chinese dragons than the furaffinity one.
This show had a good premise but a terrible delivery

Anyone else remember Juniper Lee? It was basically the girl version of this show and came out around the same time, despite having no connection with AD at all.
man, I remember the original theme song was sung by the guy who played Shia Lebouf's best friend on Even Stevens. American Dragon was a constant reminder that my favorite era of Disney Channel was over.

I... kinda agree with this? It was certainly better than Juniper fucking whiner Lee in delivery, but the good fantasy premise was mostly weighed down by the tired comedy aspects.
I kinda blame this on the time period, ironically given this thread, but seriously, Nickelodeon was going to start fucking over Avatar any minute at the time, so it sadly is understandable why Disney wouldn't have allowed the show to be a serious fantasy with light humor instead of heavy humor, light fantasy.
