Dumbing of Age

Last night, we got another terrible episode of "Leslie the Lesbian and Becky the Babygay!".

I'm starting to forget what major plot we were even waiting for a conclusion to at this point, but even if/when it is eventually addressed, I'm sure Willis will find a way to make it extremely disappointing.

Whole lot of words not about Amber hard-murdering a guy with a knife.

So when do baby gays go into their cocoon stage?

I believe it's sometime right after their eye-beetles take over their body and begin to fill the host with egg sacs.

after college graduation. if they are true gays they metamorphosis into a dyke. if not they revert back

Seems like she would get along just fine with ol' Robin "Twizzlers for breakfast" DeSanto.

Also, I guess Leslie is another picky eater. There's a lot of those in this comic.

If you think Willis doesn't have the same hangups about food, I envy you. He probably lives on carbs and candy.

>I guess Leslie is another picky eater. There's a lot of those in this comic.
You realize of course that Willis is so far down the sperglord tweaker hole that he probably doesn't even realize there's such a thing as a healthy attitude to food or what it looks like? He probably thinks everyone has these hangups and they're just different ones from person to person.

This is just the kind of shit you get as a matter of course when a severely damaged, impaired person writes a story.

I'm surprised he doesn't even fucking like fruit though.
I'm a fat fuck but I love fruit, it's nature's candy.
Whenever I read about Willis's actual circumstances, it makes me incredibly sad. He really shouldn't be making this comic- it only gives him an excuse to obsess on his bitter obsessions and reaffirm every deeply unhealthy choice in his life. I want someone to help the poor schmuck.

It can't be stressed enough - this is a married man and a father of twins. The worst might be yet to come.

I pity his chillins.
Can't you feel the tension building, in this tonally flat faff?
What do you mean boring segues aren't tense?

>Willis's views on parenting
>he is a parent
So is he just going to up and ask his kid to kill him someday for his dad crimes?

It actually makes me envision a Robin that is shifted away from the processed food sugar fiend of the other universe. She'd be great at cooking/baking and the only reason she made such weird stuff (twizzler breakfast, weird muffins) for Leslie is because all she had stocked is candy and easy-to-prepare meals. But there's enough other bits of her being the same kind of womanchild as before that I'm sure that's not the actual case.

Yeah, I've gathered between original Walky and recent Joyce, Walky and Dina that it's not far from him.

I reeealy hate to go Devil's Advocate on Willy's shit, but here we go...

I've been at the point where I said "fuck fruit" because it costs a lot more than other foods, it usually doesn't sate your appetite, and it doesn't keep for very long if I forget to eat it. That's a reasonable stance towards the stuff for a poor 20-something to have, in my experience.

I get that Willis should know better, having kids and everything, but he's writing 20-somethings who don't have kids. It's not unreasonable for him to write them not wanting to spend money on fucking fruit.

It also doesn't mean he doesn't buy his own kids fruit. Hell...with the money he makes on Patreon, I bet those kids eat the most succulent grapes and strawberries the world produces.

>it costs a lot more than other foods
Like apples and bananas? Cheaper than other sweets.

>expensive
bananas are like $0.50/lb

>bananas are .69$ a pound
>Local fruits usually 2 to 3 dollars

What the sam hell are you talking about. Do you live in arizona or some other barren wasteland?

Did patreanon get b& again or something?

Eat a dollar's worth of bananas and then eat a dollar's worth of pasta, and tell me which let you go to bed not hungry.

I'm not going to bother arguing this further, but you can't tell me you can eat a bunch of bananas for dinner and feel fulfilled.

>Becky's forehead
Holy hell what the fuck
Is that tumor or something?

He would probably kick the kids out if they came out to him as straight.

>bananas for dinner and other asinine arguments
Are you actually Willis?

DoA actually takes place in a post-nuclear world. Sarah has a wig to hide the baldness from radiation poisoning, Becky had to replace one of her eyes with a magnetically levitated cybernetic multicam, and Billie had her growth stunted in a unique way.

Tonight, we have Joe being a fucking white male, and Joyce being the best at being nothing but a constant victim.

How far the original cast has fallen.

I remember when these two were actually making some progress in getting to legitimately understand one another.

There goes that, I guess.

This response seems completely out of character for Joyce.

Well, I fucking called it that Joyce would see the List. Now for Joe to say that despite the low number, he respects Joyce as a frie-- Oh, he says "Better hit that". Never mind; I guess Joe's being written as a pervert regardless of everything. On the other hand, maybe we'll actually get a third strip in which Danny and Joyce talk to each other directly soon.

Did you know: Approximately fifteen days ago in real-world time, Amber stabbed a guy on those very dorm steps. For all we know, Danny and Joe are walking in dried pools of blood.

>better hit that
i thought joe already decided hed never have sex with joyce

Oh, her wrist brace is already off, I didn't notice last time.

>Ryan gets removed from strip
>Joyce removes wrist brace
It's almost... something? The strip is ignoring that stuff so hard that I didn't even think about it.

Also, I thought Joe didn't want to fuck her anymore. Why didn't he update her notes?

Also, also, Joyce straddling a wall is alright.

Why is he getting dragged?
>Oh, he says "Better hit that"
I don't get why he would, if he rated her 0-. And this strip is about the level of discourse they had in the pizza shop.

I'll dig through to see if Joe has anything to say, but:

I was gonna suggest it was an art error, but you're right. The wrist brace is gone.

It would be more symbolic if Joyce had an actual role in anything that happened to her. She's been delegated to being no more than a victim, plain and simple.

>Never mind; I guess Joe's being written as a pervert regardless of everything.

It took Joe like 7 years to develop Joyce-lust in the Walkyverse, where everything was universally better.

>Now for Joe to say that despite the low number, he respects Joyce as a frie
He doesn't really respect her as a friend, though. He wanted to bang her, it went super south, he then decided to avoid her (kinda, there was a lot of being in her vicinity with some teasing about how much of a crazy b she is).

She's the one who initiated contact with him about "recognizing his anger" and confided in him over freaking out at home. He just kinda went a long with it because she needed someone to talk to. After she came back to school he basically had to be forced to say hi to her. He even told Jacob as much that he explicitly thinks she's a weirdo.

(And Joe definitely isn't the type to lie to her, especially just to keep her friendship)

I'm not saying it's good, but their relationship is presented pretty clearly.

I was too busy complaining about Joyce's lower body to notice at that point.

Whether or not it's in character will depend on what happens in the next strip; Joyce's response to the do-list should be rooted in Christian morality.

I want to see how Joe ranks Dina, Becky, Ruth, and Carla.

>Why is he getting dragged?
Girls found out about his To-Do List, and they're confronting him about their numbers.

He's freaking out (despite openly giving out the password to the list) and asking Danny to drag him to safety like he used to.

Did someone IM every woman on Joe's list with their ranking and description? Including collecting all the contact information, that seems like a phenomenal amount of work.

>Becky's left eye is higher then her left
Can Willis give Becky Sunglasses please? I'm tired of her eyes bouncing everywhere.

Okay.

Okay.
I got OFF of methDoA, I got CLEAN, and for some reason I've now just read the last 3-4 weeks' worth of strips. Will someone for Christ's sake explain to me how Willis still hasn't put a bullet in his head?

And also, if against all odds something actually happened in the comic, summarize that as well.

My guess is that the password and link were plastered everywhere on campus.

Well, I can't find the specific strip I'm looking for, which featured Joyce explicitly ranked as "Zero-Minus". Was it a Patron bonus?

Well, we're seven years deep into the Dumbiverse, though it's technically only been two months or so.

>I'm not saying it's good, but their relationship is presented pretty clearly.

With Willis' pacing, I don't think you can say that with a straight face. Plus, there's the time when Joyce went back home for a weekend where she was texting him, and he wasn't talking about sex stuff at all.

>I want to see how Joe ranks Dina, Becky, Ruth, and Carla.
You never will.
But you WILL see how he ranks Mary, and it'll be hilarious as it will drag down Mary's reputation.

He's got too much money and Internet clout to do that now. You'd have to find some actual dirt on him, like scamming people on Kickstarter or trading drugs for sex with his wife.

>Dina
>Weirdosaurus
0-
Notes: Cute, but likely a fucking Scalie. Do you have any idea what a fursuit for my frame costs? Also, severely autistic to the point of questioning if consent is valid.
>Becky
>Readhead Muffmaster
0---------------
Notes: I'm pretty sure that Becky is undistilled gayness, and if it was ever brought into contact with my undistilled straightness, there would be some catastrophic explosion of negative sexual energy.

>Willis
>internet clout
Is this a lie or did I end up in the Worst Timeline somehow? Is a cat president? Are we ruled by Chairman Meow?

>And also, if against all odds something actually happened in the comic, summarize that as well.
Rapin' Ryan was permanently written out of the comic with no resolution for anyone involved.

Yeah, it was a bonus.

At what point did Joyce change how she was sitting?

In the first panel, her right leg is clearly up on the wall. In the last, it's hanging down like her left one.

I actually do like her pose in the last panel, though. It feels more authentic than anything we've seen in this comic in ages.

I love how bonus strips range from "this will be super-important to a plot in the future and people who don't see it will be confused at some point" to "lol i dunno copy-paste cereal"

>this is considered a comic strip
I'd be pretty fuckin' salty if I'd paid him any money for that. I mean, I know he's a hack, presumably everyone who signs up knows he's a hack, but fuck, man.

It's more like "Here's a callback to a past strip" to "Here's exposition for a current strip" to "Here's foreshadowing ahead of a future strip" to "lol cereal".

>Plus, there's the time when Joyce went back home for a weekend where she was texting him, and he wasn't talking about sex stuff at all.

Yeah, and normally you'd think that would lead to a budding friendship, he'd show concern over if she made it through the weekend alright. Ask her if she has anyone else to talk to. But instead, pic related was their in person interaction after she came back.

It was extremely weird and incongruous, without any depiction since of whether he would be fine helping her going ahead or if he wants it to stop. They mostly just text back and forth angrily. But that's how Willis is writing him, supportive in a rough spot and then pretending she doesn't exist otherwise.

>With Willis' pacing, I don't think you can say that with a straight face.
True enough.

I have no idea what direction Joe is supposed to be looking in this comic except panel 4.

I meant seven years of in story time.

Not the endless September of this Hell.

That's what I meant. We're two months into the Dumbiverse, but seven years into "Dumbing of Age".

>I got her number.
>How do you like them apples?

>joyce is apparently unaware of the stabbening

also, I'm positive joe mentioned his list to her before.

>Joe's hand is utterly deformed, each finger half-melted or severed

I don't remember him mentioning it in front of her, but it's entirely possible.

Closest I can remember was this, but Joyce was at Leslie's instead of in class in this strip.

>that second panel
All I can think about is that Becky really wants to tell Lesbian about seat belts and how people die all the time in car crashes.

Roz is a nasty woman.

I mean I'm going to assume it's Roz. Easiest to just assume that it's something she'd do right?

What the fuck is wrong with their noses?

I hate that he keeps doing this thing where a girl overwhelms a man twice her weight in a fistfight, especially when the guy is also carrying a knife. It's the kind of SJW tardery where it actually becomes dangerous; if anyone were to feel """""empowered""""" to fight by it, Willis would pretty much be responsible for some poor retard getting stabbed to death.

Yes, but the implication is that Rachel is the one who did it.

Not that I doubt you, but where was it implied?

A few strips ago. Joe rated her to her face, she got upset, then a few days later everyone suddenly has access to the list.

Roz would destroy her own flesh and blood, so she is capable of anything.

I like when Joe an Joyce text

...

I really enjoy Joe's look of concern over Joyce's plan in panel 4.

...

>Joyce and Joe fighting again, but real fighting instead of just friend-fighting, e.g.
God damn it, if they end up avoiding each other again, that's 2 of the comic's less-than-5 likeable characters -- who also had an actual likeable, entertaining dynamic -- that will never be shown together again. Or at least not for about 6 years.

God, I wish we could just write this fucking comic for Willis. No executive control from him, we would write & decide everything, and he would just draw it until we found a more competent artist to take his place.

>people paid money for this
Tragic

...

See? Look at this. Good. Character. Dynamics.

>Even Tomi Lahren?
Yes, even Tomi Lahren, Willis; you obtuse, shallow, vindictive cunt.

...

>rifle tattoos
That better be a ten. Unless it's fucking Carla or something. Who has rifle tattoos? My only good guess is Sal.

I'd say Guns but I think that one pic of her was revolvers on the arms. Also an april fools.

It's probably Guns, who Willis is never going to put in DoA for...some reason.

Joyce is for head Pat's not for sexual

...

Who?
Was she from Shortpacked or something?

Aww, look when Willis cared to make Joe's stubble actually look like something other than a shapeless mass!

>Good. Character. Dynamics
I agree.
Did we ever find what he was upset about?

...

If Willis is not going to use Ryan again, he should at least have ONE panel saying "The police came and carted Ryan off to jail"

A shitty half-assed resolution, but at least it WOULD be a resolution

>Did we ever find what he was upset about?
This is the closest. He parents had marriage trouble, and they were doing marriage topics in class.

Ah the classic "about it age out of Tumblr/adulting is hard" scenario.

Yeah, Davey really hit a new low with that bonus strip. I mean the words don't exist that can properly convey how shitty it is. It's like Willis is actually holding his supporters in open contempt. Like "I can half-ass EVERYTHING and you pieces of shit will not only take it without question but PRAISE me for it. I hate you all but I'll happily take your money. Idiots."

How was this strip even TOLERATED?

I swear if fucking assbarfy fucks up my perfect joexjoyce ship I'll curse his sons and wife to become copies of Mary.

>assbarfy
???

Those bonus strips are for only the most brainwashed of Willis' followers since they actually pay money to support him.

Willis is a sickly manchild who semi-regularly shits himself and pukes everywhere

HOO BOY

hivebarf

>comic is literally called Dumbing of Age

If you don't think the lowering of quality over time of DoA isn't planned, you must be insane.

Guns was a minor character from It's Walky and I have no idea why Willis hates her so much. Closest i can figure her main character trait was she liked guns and guns are bad so she's bad.

Not only is a complete rip of a Jeph Jacques strip, it was actually a decent meta gag in the context of QC.

That's still a workable concept. Make her one of those hardcore ROTC types or play off the word "guns" and make her a gymrat.

I want it to just not be mentioned for like a year and then suddenly Stabbin' Amber and Rapin' Ryan appear on TV in a Bonny and Clyde/Natural Born Killers scenario just stabbin' and rapin' their way across the country.

Y'know, that's actually a good topic of discussion: What does "Dumbing of Age" actually mean? I mean, sure, it's obviously a play on "coming of age", and being set in a college environment it would make sense that this is a comic in which characters would come of age and learn or experience harsh truths about the world around them while also finding solace in others who share the same conundrums and obstacles.

But why "dumbing"? Is Willis implying that a person becoming of age is a dumb concept? Is Willis just making a childish pun? The answers are infinite and likely meaningless. I leave the ball in your court.

Also, I need reaction images for the next porn comic. Hit me with your best thot.

Look you might say it's a "new low" or "lazy" or whatever but just you wait until we get the big addiction storyline covering Riley's addiction to Smacks in a very clever opioid epidemic metaphor.

I'm joking of course. The opioid epidemic largely effects white people so there's no virtue signalling ally points to be gained from touching on it.

Expecting or seeking higher meaning from beings as banal and shallow as Willis is a pointless endeavor.

Might as well examine the complexities behind "Batman peens Superman: Dawn of Buttstuff".

Also, I realized in the shower that this storyline with Joe has a 90% chance of leading into some kind of deep introspective look into Joe's past wherein it turns out that his father was a womanizer who would sleep around while neglecting Joe, so Joe would imitate his father in the hopes of being noticed and recognized and respected and fuck all.

Unless, of course, this was all already established in the comic, in which case we're going to either get something completely different or we're going to get a rehash that doubles if not triples down on the whole "bad parenting" angle.

It's established that Joe and Joe's dad are similar in behavior and that Joe's parents are divorced because his dad is a womanizer. We don't know if he's a bad parent, just a bad husband - a fact Joe recognizes.

>that story arc where Smacks are banned and Riley has turn to smuggled Mexican cereal to get her fix

Truly the height of Willis storytelling.
