Do you trust him?

Do you trust him?

Yeah, Zack and co already promised they addressed the problems in BvS before hand
(more optimistic tone/less convoluted story/no more murderbats/etc.)
Plus this time, Geoff was there to put a leash on some of the crazier ideas

And Joss is handling Post Production, aka where films really get made
Its still going to be Zacks movie, but I think he'll clean it up, the reshoots were probably to fill in gaps that didnt make sense or could use better execution

And Danny Elfmans there too so if we get even a snippet of this original Batman theme Im sold

I think we're in for a good time

He doesn't know how to keep tonal consistency on anything that's not a comedy or a TV series so, no, I'll never trust him.

no but it's DC so who cares

not like he can make it worse

Regardless of Joss's involvement, the movie was doomed to Marveldom by the backlash against BvS

Sure, Zach and Terrio talked about how JL was always planned to be 'lighter' before BvS even wrapped, but the issue isn't that it's going to be lighter but rather that they've stepped away from attempting challenging deconstructions and toward 'fun' fluff like their more successful competitors

The fact that the simplistic nu-male sludge that blogs about movies for a living made the serviceable shallow romp that was Wonder Woman out to be anything special sealed the deal moving forward

We're basically just getting two MCUs now

Maybe Tom Hardy's Venom can try something daring, but for now the future of capekino is pretty bleak

>attempting challenging deconstructions
Oh wait, you're serious?

Fuck no, I read his Wonder Woman script

No, not a tiny bit.
>the reshoots were probably to fill in gaps that didnt make sense or could use better execution
Or make it worse by adding unnecessary scenes

Can't get any worse.

>Why can't everything be dark and edgy?

>Zack and co already promised they addressed the problems in BvS before hand

Snyder is not capable of addressing the problems he created.

>Its still going to be Zacks movie

Then it must inevitably be a failure, as always.

Pray for someone else coming in capable of cleaning up his mess as with WW.

Not really but I'm curious to see what a Zack Snyder movie half-directed and edited by Joss Whedon even looks like.

Probably either great or shit with nothing in between.

>capekino
fuck off Sup Forums

This
It's going to be interesting, at least as a scientific experiment

> (You) #
>>attempting challenging deconstructions
>Oh wait, you're serious?

Don't worry, the new movies will try to have enough Beyoncé references for you, sweetie

We get it, explorations of politics, philosophy, and morality don't play well to the cheap seats

You can tell this guy thought Guardians of the Galaxy being resolved with a dance number was applause worthy^

>The fact that the simplistic nu-male sludge that blogs about movies for a living

And nearly 100% of all professional critics.

It must be tough living in a world where there's a giant conspiracy against you.

Whenever I hear Joss Whedon, I sorta have that nostalgic feeling of "oh man, I loved Buffy and Firefly! This will be great!" but then I remember reading that fucking script he wrote for Wonder Woman a few years ago and it sounds like the most autistic neckbeard fanfiction shit.
So no, I don't trust him.

Shit math aside, that's redundant

Woosh

How does it feel to constantly smell your own farts?
Because your head is so far up your ass.

Absolutely not, Batgirl is going to be a disaster

>We get it, explorations of politics, philosophy, and morality don't play well to the cheap seats

We've reached Poe's Law territory when it comes to the DCEU

Lmao so yes then? Incredible

>Lmao
The 2deep4u crowd of DCEU.

It's him or Zack Snyder.

So sure, why the fuck not.

No, I don't. I don't like him, I don't respect him, and I certainly don't trust him to do anything.

I can only hope that the movie fucking bombs so hard it makes Age of Ultron look like a pretty alright movie. I have nothing against you DCfags or anything like that, but I want to see Whedon burn, and having destroyed his career with Marvel the only thing left is for him to destroy his career with DC, after which he might finally get some sense in his head and slink off to some forgotten TV channel to die in silent mediocrity.

He has flaws as a writer, but he also knows how to structure a movie with an ensemble cast properly. If someone else in the production crew can curb his more annoying tendencies, we could have a winner on our hands.

That said, my greatest fear is that WB will NOT do that and just let him go ham.

I trust him to make the League a team of quipping Wheadons

To kill a character? Yes! I hope it's Cyborg but know it's Snyders daughter

HAHAHAHA

References to Jesus are better than references to Beyonce now?

The product of 2 madmen is intriguing to say the least

Yes because Superman being Jesus isn't something Snyder started

I want to but the more I hear the less excited I am for JL. I still want the Zack Snyder movie I was promised and now I feel like I'm not going to get it anymore

Pretty sure thats what Geoff Johns and Jon Berg are there for
They came on to steer the ship and make sure no one does anything crazy after BvS and SS

More than Snyder? Yes.
In general? No.

Wheadon is far past his prime and needs to go away now.

Christ no.

I read his Wonder Woman script.

Jesus.

but Snyder sure strokes it over the idea eh?

>Its still going to be Zacks movie
Oh you mean dark edgy shit that pretend to be deep like TDK is is no more deep or complex than any MCU movie but without all the fun?

Not much If he happens to make major reshots Joss' touch ain't magic, just check his ww script or fucking alien 4. It worked on the avengers cause you had like 3 funny guys, one strong woman and a boyscout, he probably feels more comfortable with those type of characters. If Batman starts, pardon the word, quipping too hard then he might create a disaster in terms of tone.

And all these changes sound like they are trying to fix something that is already broken and they didn't trust snyder to begin with. But maybe they were working together way sooner than reporter so the tone might be decent. Still, expecting something like apocalypse

>Yeah, Zack and co already promised

No. I read his Wonder Woman script.

More than Snyder, but not enough.

To be fair we already knew that he can't touch female characters, let Patty work in WW part and everything would be fine

>all these Wonder Woman fake fans
kys

>feminists invade Sup Forums to kill Whedon

Well they were bound to come at one point

>Wonder Woman fake fans
Now there are a couple of ways to interpret that. What precisely did you mean by it?

I'm more upset with his involvement leading to Junkie XL leaving. I think Elfman is very talented, but I'm not sure his style is right for the film.

im not keen on his snarky style but after snyder it might be refreshing.

It's gender qualified, so you don't qualitfy

Pretty sure Snyder said the bulk of it was finished filming, but then he decided to go back and add some more "emotional" scenes. So, that's probably all that's left for Whedon to do, filming-wise.

Editing was one of the weak points of the past two Snyder films (had to trim down a three-hour movie, and they trimmed shit that made it not make sense; scenes didn't flow together).

But, that was ONE of the weak points. It still had dumb dialogue, a dumb story, dumb characters, etc. Pretty sure no matter what, this is going to be a Snyder movie.

I trust him more than Snyder

This is not fair tho, one is the guy that wrotte shit like "sucker punch".

To be fair, with enough time any movie can be saved in editing.

The original Star Wars was a fucking mess until it was fixed by the editors.

Avengers 2 sucked, so no, not really.

>We get it, explorations of politics, philosophy, and morality don't play well to the cheap seats
Wait, you really think that movie is deep?Fucking age of Ultron was more deep than this shit.

>attempting challenging deconstructions

I'll give you that they may have been 'attempting' except that's not what Terrio has ever written; Goyer has never actually reconstructed anything - his attempts are more in the line of the simplistic 'what if' / Elseworld type vision that any fan fiction fanatic who isn't writing pure porn manages while typing on their mobile during their tube ride to work. What if Superman's ship landed in Germany/Russia/Africa type 'challenging deconstructions.'

The movie was over-stuffed. Much of that was unnecessary foreshadowing and excessive call outs to ideas that likely will never be made, even if BvS HAD made it to 1B. The people who praise the Ultimate Edition admit the movie was overstuffed and poorly edited.

The only real challenging thing about it was trying to make sense of it or finding something to enjoy (and since documentaries and historical dramas are enjoying, that doesn't mean adding a Beyonce joke or quips every five minutes.

Never read the Wonder Woman script, so this.

However, in Hollywood, the first script is never what's directed. Whedon is often brought in and paid to 'doctor' scripts, especially while films are in production. I'm not sure I would trust Whedon with a complete script, from start to finish, but I think he's capable of delivering a good polish on a so-so/adequate script.

And like everyone else is saying, many movies are finished in the editing and post production. So I expect it to be a better movie than Snyder would have ended up with in that regard.

>Snyder fags constantly made fun of Joss calling him a hack
>He's tasked with finishing Snyder's baby and they're all "it's fine...."

LOL denial is a beautiful thing.

They will say it was all Zach work if it gets praised and blame Joss if it fails you know.
