So, is she the ONLY good thing about this cartoon? Whenever the show gets brought up, the only positives that I see posted are about her

and is she actually even that good, or is it just waifuism?

Waifu.

Waifu

It's a cute children's show, but it has no ambition to be anything more. The writing varies wildly - they've got some good talent, but some episodes are just weaker than others. I remember one written by Len fucking Wein of all people, that has an entire first-act set piece hinged on forgetting Windblade can fly.

Even as waifu bait, it's mediocre in that they constantly set up intriguing new female characters, like pic related, Shatterspike, or even Russell's tomboy friend Hank, then forgetting about them ASAP.

It's one of those shows that's hit-or-miss enough to actually benefit from a "best episodes" guide, that is if you don't care how the season-long arcs pay off Poorly. They pay off poorly.

...

Not even a waifufag but I find Strongarm pretty likeable.
Imo she's got a really neat design and a cute personality.
Also is it just stockholm syndrome or does the quality of animation and shading improves noticably right after the first season?

steeljaw doing a cena and stealing the spotlight from those three.

honestly i don't mind RiD's "not in a war anymore" approach. some are just REALLY picky in their hate for the show

>theme song is just the same words over and over again!
points out beast wars theme did the same thing
>but they did it better

>that has an entire first-act set piece hinged on forgetting Windblade can fly.

are you serious?

She's a big rig...

The writing is terrible. The writing for Rescue Bots blows it out of the water and that target audience is 3-5 yr olds.

She's like a baby Prowl.

...

TBF, Nicole Dubuc writes for both shows. I usually find her episodes of RiD are the strongest.

Nicole Dubuc is why Ratchet has I needed that as his catchphrase.

It also has the best Grimlock in the franchise's history.

It's fun and the designs of the decepticons and main characters are good. Grimlock is best boy.

It just falls into the trap of trying way too hard to be episodic monster-of-the-week "new characters and recoloured alt modes! gotta sell more TTTTOOOOOYSSS", so every time something interesting and overarching happens plotwise it's quickly wrapped up so they can go back to fighting a new bad guy every week.
So I mean, pretty faithful to the goofy G1 way of doing things, but a step down from the ongoing plot stuff from the series it's sequelling.

There's some really good foundations for trouble on postwar Cybertron, politics, functionism, Optimus Prime being a rebel, etc. Also the old Prime cast is doing something way more interesting than the Bee Team is up to but we never see it, just get hints and teases.

>RiD Grimlock
>better than cute G1 Grimlock
>better than angry Animated Grimlock

>So I mean, pretty faithful to the goofy G1 way of doing things, but a step down from the ongoing plot stuff from the series it's sequelling.
I actually like the G1-ness of the episodic stories, I just wish they didn't bother with the half-hearted attempts at overarching plot. Each villain having their own immediate desires and motives is way more interesting to me than a big group centered around a vaguely nefarious long-term goal.

It's what the writers seem interested in too, since the overarching stuff is always Hasbro-mandated crap.

Let's not go that far.

This. It's fun if you grew up with transformers and power rangers though.

construction grimlock BTFO!

honestly i feel they're more getting into the groove of things first then reveal a bigger story. too bad that means "filler"

strongarm is pretty much the halfway mark between the sexy robot (elita-1. arcee) and buff robot (strika)

buff but still feminine.

the type of girl you can believe that can take and give a punch.

...

Strongarm is one of those characters I hope makes the leap from RiD to the comics, to the next series.

Same with Nitro Zeus.

Nitro Zeus cucks the IDWverse

prints $$$

Not hard to do with the fire thats burning there.

Unless somehow the comics have gotten better since I last checked.

I like most of it, actually. It's very lighthearted, which isn't a bad thing. From the series, I like Strongarm, Grimlock, Fixit, Bee, Steeljaw, and the Stunticons; I can't stand Sideswipe and Windblade.

The new season is better than the entirety of tfp's run.

...

Have you seen the porn of her?
Ridiculous, I basically started watching transformers because of it, and I haven't watched it since beast wars.

...

>You'll never take Strongarm to a car wash and cover her in hot foam
>never taking her home and hand washing her

...

...

But that's Springer.

Hank looks like a fucking Digimon character

needs more Chase + Strongarm

...

...

...

To be honest I liked that.

...

...

I'm not surprised given one of the show's brains behind it is one Adam Beechen.

...

Just catching up. Was that Fort Max as the Academy boss?

Was there a new rid episode this week?

>Tumblr

supposedly but got delayed for some reason.

i want to see purple strongarm/chicane in action

I heard some people got in on demand but I have no clue. Nobody really cares enough about this show to rip it sadly.

sad really

guess it feels too much like g1 season 3 (rodimus prime in charge). bots won and the cons are mostly just a nuisance.

waiting to see if soundwave coming back leads to anything significant or not.

It's a shame because I'm finding myself liking the stunticons more than I have previous villain teams on this show but most people seem to have jumped ship by now and won't get to appreciate them.

that and their toy versions isn't exactly up to most older fan's standards.

>actual character Grimlock

as opposed to:

>boring caricature Grimlocks

You think... Autobots like getting washed?

I think it was the RiD comic that actually confirmed Strongarm likes to sneak out at night to go through a car wash.

handwash or automated?

we know strongarm likes it (sneaks off to an automated carwash but never shown onscreen ) but we do see bumblebee liking it very much.

I'd like to think the do.

I think that might depend on the 'bot and who's doing the washing.

cartoon.

hence the episode where sideswipe blackmails her into doing stuff for him (he doesn't know where she goes off to exactly, just that she sneaks out).

>Autobots
You implyin Knockout don't want a scrubdown from a guy with big american tiddies?

Much obliged.

Also, two cents re: Strongarm. I really appreciate the balance she strikes between being a by-the-book cop, an over-eager space cadet and just a young bot getting over her homesickness. Of course, not every episode gets to display every facet of her, but she has a good number of character traits that keep her from being overly two-dimensional.
Plus, y'know. Big burly police robot. Fucking nice.

>Only a couple bad guys even get releases

>Must Kill Moe
>Wheeeeeeee

She is a forced meme

How ridiculous can it get?

This is my fetish now.
