Punisher

Canon anyone explain the appeal of the Punisher to me? Out of the "normal" Punisher comics I've read, they all more or less come across like this:
>Frank finds another syndicate
>Murders several members until they're operation is crippled
>Finds new connections
>Repeat
It's just so stupid and dull.

Have you read Ennis?

Also, there aren't any other characters like him that aren't knockoffs. If he's not for you, he's not for you, though.

The satisfaction of murder porn: killing people who (in your opinion) deserve to die, while effectively being invulnerable and unstoppable yourself.

In reality, or indeed in the Marvel Universe, Frank would not last very long, of course.

Shut up Whedon.

he's one of the more gritty characters marvel has made

there is literally a series where he kills the entire marvel; universe

You'll never get it if you're a woman or a pussy. Just read something else

He's an anti-hero. A big part of his appeal, to me, has been that he isn't trying to justify his actions with some moral high-ground bullshit. He just kills people who have forfeited their lives with their actions (as far as he's concerned), and doesn't think twice about it.

He also gives the "moral high-ground" heroes a compelling antithesis; even the most vigilant anti-killing hero can't argue with Frank's unparalleled efficacy at snuffing out crime. They can say they disagree with his extreme methods, but not his results.

But it's like said. If he's not for you, he's not for you.

Which one is that? I'll read that shit right now

>"what's the comic where the punisher kills the marvel universe user?'

Reading it now.

Panel related made me fucking LOL.

Read Ennis' run.

For me it's the fact he's basically the Death Wish guy walking around in a dumb comic world.

Frank does what we're all thinking. Also Frank admits hes not a hero, he does it for himself

The Punisher is simple, he's a character made up of revenge stories.

> set up criminal
> kill criminal
That's it. The best Punisher stories are typically done in one or two issues

>the appeal of the Punisher to me?
I don't know about everyone else but I adore character motivated and wholly consumed by vengeance and rage.

Is... is that a skull? Is there an artist out there who thinks that's what a skull looks like?

Ennis is what you need for your Frank needs, OP.

>punisher fans

I liked Rucka's Solid Frank. Gives you kind of a new perspective on the character.

Frank hails hydra. hes a cool dude

that's pure gold.

I feel like it appeals to the same type of people who enjoy 80s action movies. Plot is secondary, just lots of violence with an edgy badass killing people. Not bad, Ennis was awesome, but you can only do the same thing so many times before it gets stale. Also, he is kind of a conservative minded hero which balances out all the liberal heroes in comics.

All Punisher comics follow the same basic formula

>Introduce the Punisher, a man who kills human garbage
>Introduce a piece of human garbage who deserves to be punished
>Have the Punisher kill said piece of human garbage in a satisfyingly karmic manner
>Rinse and repeat

It's revenge porn. That's not to speak ill of it since I happen to be a fan of Garth Ennis' Punisher run, but that's really all it is at the end of the day: watching Punisher kill assholes who have it coming.

Hold up, why is that CAR15 mirrored?

Short answer is people feel like they have no control over "evils" in the world and would love just to gun and and kill shit.
