Tropes You Love

>antagonist is passionate and very clearly takes enjoyment in what they do
>character that has gotten shit on for most of the show finally snaps
>bad guy from previous season(s) gets outed by a badder guy, but comes back in the finale to kick their ass

>antagonist is someone from an alternate universe, and they're nigh-unstoppable
>they're just the good version of the shitty character from our universe

>The villains team up
>They're well-coordinated and hold an easy camaraderie with each other

>the rich, spoiled character is actually very kind
>bonus points if they're incredibly naive about money to go with it

what series?

>the villain is left at "mercy" of every single character they've ever pissed off or exploit

The Rick & Morty comics had one notably good part where the Jerry from the same dimension as Doofus Rick turns out to be a god among men.

The ending to his arc was complete shit, but it was mostly fun while it lasted

>villain has a mental breakdown
Never fails.

>antagonist has a weird crush on the hero

Bonus points if the feelings are rather pure and not pervy and/or rapey, even if they're really evil.

>villain shows his kind side
>hero shows his dark side
I like scenes that show the complexity/flaws in people.

I just love those actual adrenaline panics.

>Character is dangerously outnumbered/outgunned
>Looks like the odds are even now

>former underling leaves their master's cause
>still doesn't join the protagonist side

>The side characters form a band

>Main character begins a big battle with his/her's friends by their sides.

>character that has gotten shit on for most of the show finally snaps
Any examples of this?

>final/major battle
>protagonists are joined by a bunch of minor characters they've helped along the way

>>character that has gotten shit on for most of the show finally snaps

>immediately knocked the fuck back down because they are, in fact, shit, and copping an attitude isn't going to change that

...

>protagonist gets betrayed by close friend

Gash Bell did it best, I teared up a bit reading it.

>Episode revolves around sidekicks, henchmen, and other supporting cast.
>Main characters and villains are barely in it (if they're even in it at all).

Isn't that how thundercats 2011 ended?

....Jesus fuck, has it really been 6 years?

>Protagonist's number 2 guy fights antagonist's lieutenant
>number 3 guys fight each other and so on

Bonus points if some or all mismatch, and the underdogs hold their own

actually
>underdogs/side characters holding their own

another similar trope that could be awesome if done right
>hero is dying and needs support
>a presumably defeated ally gives the hero a chance to fight back
>both work together and push the unstoppable villain on the edge

>ESTABLISHED HERO ROCKIN IT DOIN THER THANG
>SUDDENLY, ONEDAY, EVIL/ALTERNATE/NEGA VERSION OF SAID HEROs APPEARS
>THEY BECAME RECURRING/MAIN CHARCTERS.
>ULTRAHARDCOCKBONUS- RELUCTANTLY TEAM UP WITH HERO AND ARE AMAZING

...

character is completely deluded that they will survive as they're bleeding out and reassuring his comrades that he'll be fine.

>not shadow

Scourge is the best recolor and it's a crime against humanity that he was taken from us.

From the latest Spiderman
>blue collar villain
>rough around the edges but a strong sense of honor and a good sense of humor

>Character knows they're mortally wounded, but pretends to be fine for others' sake or keeps going because the mission is that important
Someone post the comic where the guy dressed as Superman gets shot in the hospital, I can't find it.

Legit disappointment right here

>mon

>Villain sincerely happy or excited for the hero with no malicious intent
>Show has a cooking episode and everything actually looks pretty good/doable IRL.
>Friendly hooker fucks a protag and then gives them a life lesson for pillow talk
>Hooker character loves hooking because she loves sex and gets paid to have it

Shadow is more of an antihero, not the villain anymore

>dark, brooding villain/anti-hero goes up against kind, all-loving mentor figure
>kindly mentor calmly reasons with them, tries to talk them down, wants to bring out the best in them

Bonus points if it drives the villain/anti-hero nuts.

>Teammates who hate each other's faces at the start but eventually grow to accept themselves as compatible, unstoppable forces
>They still call each other names, but out of being bros

>Hero is out of action
>The Villains do his job and save the day

>Protagonist walks in on villain fucking his sister and she gets mad at him

>cryptic shaman/mystic/wise man is dismissed early on, but everything he says comes true
>villain ignores the showboat bullshit and just systematically takes apart the heroes
>last stands by heroes to hold the line for their friends
>last stands by villains who refuse to surrender
>love interest who isn't dark or brooding or edgy or anything but is just a genuinely nice, loving person
>sexy imperious woman holds a major character's leash, whether villain or hero

>Hero decides to take the day off
>Villain actually succeeds for once
>Finds there's no fun in it without the hero
>Constantly tries to get the hero back into the action for the rest of the day

>good guy tries to make bad guy see the error of his ways
>bad guy refuses just because he loves being a cockhead

>Time spent fleshing out supporting characters and making them centerstage for a while

Bonus points if they don't die immediately afterwards

>hero(es) out for the day
>weak villain takes opportunity and strikes
>weak side characters have to defend the town
> they dress up and pretend they're the main heroes

>retired super villains trying to live a normal life
