The count of monte cristo the anime was too but it's still an anime. Good movie though.

"I hate you."
"Hate away, sister, hate away."

>It's based on western source material fuck you.
>Metropolis (メトロポリス Metoroporisu) is a 2001 Japanese science-fiction anime action film loosely based on the 1949 Metropolis manga created by Osamu Tezuka, itself inspired by the 1927 German silent film of the same name, though the two do not share plot elements.

Not Western animated source material I hope that's not what you ment

>When Toonami randomly played this that one night
>When you just got sucked into it

The only western thing about Metropolis is the soundtrack.
But yeah, Metropolis is amazing.
It's beyond stupid but I'm not ashamed to admit I cried at the end

I was used to western animation always being for children so I was expecting some adventure movie like Disney or some comedy.

Little did I know that Japan considers killing dolphins ok, so obviously they'd cram in all their weird shit, terrible jokes, bad parenting and bio-mechanical crap into the movie.

I don't understand, why were the main characters children? why was the dialogue and the story so immature and shallow? but on top of it they add all this gritty shit which feels like some autistic edgy 17 year old was trying to be cool and shit by adding all the unfitting grit?

I was expecting Pokemon and Digimon, not this. This is more gritty than most anime cartoons.

Movie, old series or new series?

hey never jeard of haysen code.

Remember, the original intended ending shows that she survived and was rebuilt and they got a shop together at the very end.

Whether you accept that as the official ending or the final version that had it cut is up to you.

>jeard of haysen code

And you can't post in the other boards under the Japanese Culture category?

I remember this feel

Well if the silent film Metropolis is Sup Forums now, I gotta say I get a tight feeling in my chest whenever I get to this line. It's a very powerful moment.

Then Metropolis would fit right in there, wouldn't it now?

>Sup Forums refuses to discuss anything but moeshit
False, if you actually checked the board faggot

*they never heard of haysen code

thanks, mom. i knew we could count on ya!

shounenshit is the new moeshit

...

I miss hearing Aladdin's voice actor in things too, user. We all do.

Rock a qt

This scene always fucks me up.

Yeah, last time I checked a thread on there, they were complaining about isekaishit.

"I know you want me to be happy....but (sob)...I can't.."

Fritz Lang is the boss.

>When, I can't stop loving you, starts
Sing the song children...

ROCK DID LITERALLY NOTHING WRONG
His only crime was loving a man like a father despite not being loved in return.

>Kills a bear to save his father who just shot him, then has to wait for him to sober up for almost a day to finally receive medical attention.

>His father never apologizes.

Fucking Clay, I get he had a terrible childhood but his son never deserved any of his shit. Orel's a good kid.

Also that scene in S2 where Orel hugs him and tells him he loves him just for Clay to stay still, holding his drink.

Reminded me too much of my childhood.
