Marvel was the 2nd company and will always have an inferiority complex about it.

MCU (and MU fans in general) fans reward Marvel for being petty. Go take a look at CBR Marvel board.

Everyone knows Fox is garbage so no one cares.

What? Fox has arguably made the most consistent superhero movies of the last 2 decades. The only ones that were outright bad were Apocalypse and X3.

Is that true? My comics knowledge is very little, but everyone I always met or knew, always was Marvel first, and/or bought and owned Marvel stuff.

You only met or knew casuals.

I bet they were X-Men fans.

And Fantastic 4?

And Origins: Wolverone?

Fantastic 4 is no worse than any of the Thor movies, unless you mean the new one then yeah I will give you that.

Wolverine Origins was a decent to good movie until the last 15 minutes.

Feige has said he loved WW

What are you even talking about? DC has been around a lot longer than Marvel, that's what they were saying

Marvel is the Digimon to DCs Pokemon

This IS BAIT

Do not fall for it

>Wolverine Origins was a decent to good movie until the last 15 minutes.

This. I'm convinced most of the people who rally against that movie are just being parrots, the movie was by no means a GOAT comic movie, but it was mostly fine....Reynolds was great as Wade Wilson and Liev was great as Sabretooth, and the interactions in the movie were pretty damn good

It really only became a shitfest once "Deadpool" enters the mix, which is the final part of the movie, and ironically Sup Forums hates Deadpool apparently so why do they even care about him being bastardized? Parrots

…Digimon came first

Smt came first you fucking mong.

>Liev was great as Sabretooth
>He didn't get to reprise the role in Logan and was replaced by the weird shadow clone thing
Life sucks

Marvel pettyness isn't even a rivalry thing, it's more like a 6'5 school bully picking on a kid with a wheelchair. That kid is never going to fight back at your level. Everyone knows it. The fact that he can move around is a miracle. This was essentially just that kid graduating from a wheelchair to crutches.

The average DC film isn't even that good. At this point I just want them to make billions just so Disney has something resembling real franchise competition.

This, X-24 was dumb and when he showed up the whole movie tanked

Marvel got butthurt because AOE had a bigger opening than Winter Soldier but then bend ass up for Universal when Jurassic World beat them
partly because of Pratt and partly because of the Hulk rights

>talking about the films

No one uses that as a measure of quality on Sup Forums dude. Go back to Sup Forums.

And Gunn I think. Hemsworth said WW would kick Thor's ass.

How old are you? The original Superman and Batman movies are American classics, nobody outside of this board thinks anything about MCU flicks, they are like the same as Transformers flicks...they're not iconic, they're not part of American film history, they're seen as disposable garbage popcorn shit for kids and manchildren

>but not Marvel Studios?

Huh? Feige was actually glad that Wonder Woman was a hit.

cbr.com/marvel-kevin-feige-grateful-wonder-woman/

“What it does do is go, ‘Oh, thank God,'” he told Mashable. “Because what the question would have been on this junket before that is, ‘Do you think people want to see a female superhero movie? … Are you nervous about Captain Marvel being a big, the first female hero?’ And I would always say no, because there hasn’t been a good one in a long time. There were, you know, 15 years ago, a bunch of bad ones. Did they fail because they were female-led movies? No. They failed because they were not good movies.”

“I don’t have to say that anymore,” he continued, “thanks to Wonder Woman, because it just blows that fallacy out of the water.”

Remember that Feige was the guy who was trying to push Marvel to do a superheroine film but Ike Perlmutter shot it down because he didn't feel that superheroine films would sell. So Wonder Woman's success proved Feige right.

Man it's not even Marvel Studios, it's the batshit MCU stans and certain Marvel writers/editors who keep doing this stupid ass console war bullshit.

what are you talking about fool

Then why Marvel can't get even close to Nolan's worst Batman movie after 16 tries?

The Guardians movies and Winter Soldier were better than The Dark Knight Rises, though. That movie peaks at the first scene, and then it's a steep downhill slope from there.

dont kid yourself, all superhero movies are seen that way. in fact, the dark knight movies are better remembered than the burton batman, or the donner superman films. the entire genre wont be remembered any differently than westerns. when there time is up, theyll stop getting made.

MCU directors have praised Snyder, asked on twitter for the Justice League trailer claiming to be hyped about it, Gunn is a personal friend of Snyder and Feige said he loved WW. It's just that the MCU has the Worst Fanbase in Any Medium Ever and now that their hated DCEU has a higher average gross per film, the triggering is getting bad.

The guys making these movies are good people but they have to please a bunch of absolute retards who think a CGI dancing baby tree is the pinnacle of blockbuster movie making

>That movie peaks at the first scene

You only think that because of Baneposting.

>The Guardians movies and Winter Soldier were better than The Dark Knight Rises, though
First Guardians maybe, the other two aren't even close. You can throw Iron Man 1 there too

No, it's just that TDK was one of the few modern movies to reach that level of being iconic. It gets referenced in all culture, through stand up comedy, radio, rap songs, blah blah blah

That's what being iconic means, ascending past a niche and becoming a larger meme in culture itself, the difference between Metallica and Metal Church, or Halloween and Silent Night Deadly Night

If you don't think the Chris Reeves Superman or Burton's Batman are iconic, I would assume you have a very narrow view of pop culture and how much of a staple those things have become in it, same with the Dark Knight

Can't say the same with any Marvel movies to date, they just kind of exist and are a big deal in the nerd world but not outside of it

I haven't heard any references to the Nolan batmovies in years that aren't just fucking Baneposting

"Why so serious" had a few years of relevancy before being forgotten but then again so did "Hail Hydra"

You guys do remember that Feige and Johns already basically the debunked the whole company wars bullshit as a narrative that exists mainly in the fans heads.

That's because you seem to be viewing this through what's relevant to Sup Forums, nobody in the real world knows about Baneposting anyway, that's strictly chan culture stuff

Whenever you see representations of the Joker in parody or otherwise, it's usually Ledgers. I can't think of a Marvel movie where a character from it became the dominant image of that character in culture, once again making the Transformers comparison...those movies make a lot of money, for many that is their version of the character, but if you ever see Transformers appear in pop culture it's usually referencing the original 80s series, because it's iconic, the movies less so despite being successful

When I see new Jokers lately, he's usually references to the classic purple suit bullshit, or riffs on the Suicide Squad look. I haven't seen an honest to god TDK based Joker since Robot Chicken did a parody episode like decades ago.

And are you kidding me? The Marvel versions have eclipsed the comics in relevancy by a significant margin. How many nin-fandom related people do you think know that Nick Fury used to be white?

Since they did a parody like a decade ago, I mean. Not plural.

>And are you kidding me? The Marvel versions have eclipsed the comics in relevancy by a significant margin. How many nin-fandom related people do you think know that Nick Fury used to be white?
The difference between DC and Marvel memes is mainly that DC memes are natural, but Marvel memes are forced.

Nick Fury is only pushed in media by Marvel and Marvel alone in their own stuff, things like Christopher Reeves being Superman and Ledger's Joker became memes because of the cultural significance of those movies, at the end of the day nobody really cares about Nick Fury either way though....

To compare it to a Marvel thing though, let's say Venom. Ignore the fact that Eddie Brock is back in the drivers seat, let's go back to the Agent Venom/Space Knight days, they were pushing Flash hard, if you watched the then current Spider-Man cartoon on TV, yes you would have seen Agent Venom, but still not iconic, most people still would think of classic Venom, because he was iconic

The thing about the MCU is that the characters they use/had rights to were only A-Listers in universe to begin with, but in terms of the IRL public were all b-d listers tops

How does that explain Marvel coming out with Avengers 5 years before DC ?

>memes

Multiple MCU-related people already expressed love for WW

But even then, classy? You're acting like this is a competitor admitting defeat or something. It's not. Deadpool isn't in cinemas competing against WW

Really? Fucking Tony Stark? The Guardians? You may hate it, but RDJ and DANCE OFF BRO is how the average Joe sees those characters now. if nothing else because they were the first to pull off the cinematic universe meme that 0every other company has been trying to ape since

>but le generic flicks you forget in a week

twitter.com/Kevfeige/status/610858554719895552

What the fuck are you even talking about? At least criticize an aspect that is actually debatable.

Well to be fair, RDJ as Stark didn't do much to separate the character from who he is in other media....I think most people would agree RDJ Iron Man is just...Iron Man, it's not unique in any way

As for Guardians, I don't think people even think of them as super heroes and nobody talked about them prior to the MCU like ever, it's just Marvel's Star Wars

Because Ike Perlmutter is a petty, PETTY, little man...

Apocalypse wasn't a bad movie

Quite the opposite. X-fags are more of DCfags, they don't care about anything that marvel does that doesn't have X in the name.

Your whole post is 100% wrong, probably because you are too young to know better

It's true. The thing is, whether mcu movies are iconic or not, we will see 20 years from now. I think that The Avengers might be considered iconic

To be fair, both Tony Stark RDJr and Rocket Raccoon did reach a pop-culture consciousness, albeit RR reached it more. Tony Stark RDJr already feels forgotten

Schumacher was a mistake and Superman film situation was a mess.

And everyone calls the Thor movies shit so I don't see your point there.

>classy
Yeah, cause piggybacking off of other properties' success definitely doesn't have any ulterior motives

DC is Digimon. It came first, is now made for older audience, and is more experimental.

Marvel is Pokemon: made for dumb idiot babies and "le nerd XD" girls, focuses entirely on rehashes and making money, and never does anything new.

1. Disney are highly against offering promotion for anyone but themselves
2. Marvel execs are highly against offering promotion for DC

You're combining two of the stuffiest, most no-fun-allowed corporate cultures in entertainment.

so marvel is better

>The original Superman and Batman movies are American classics,
Nolstagia fag

Isn't it fun, entering the thread hours later without reading it

>Brie Larson comments on all things feminist on her social media.
>Is COMPLETELY mum on Wonder Woman

They still make countless references about superman trilogy everywhere, superman trilogy is more memorable than many clasics

Fox and WB are serious studios with a back catalog including dozens or even hundreds of oscars winning pictures and they share talent, distribution deals and even funding all the time. Same with Universal. It's absolute trash studios like Disney or Sony who only make toy/theme park commercials for theaters and product placement flicks for their own products, studios with ZERO (0) good movies in the decade of the 2010s the ones they have issues with

So the All-New Marvel phase is the 3D era of Pokemon, and Captain Marvel is their Pokemon XY?

Wow, thats absolutely right! I'm living proof of that

Marvel recently celibrated it's 75th birthday
Batman celibrated his 75th a few years before

Why does everyone at a German party in Germany at the German high command speak English? Bugs the shit out of me.

>That movie peaks at the first scene
You realize baneposting is making fun of how badly written that whole scene is, right?

Or are you saying that the movie starts bad and gets worse?

>he didn't feel that superheroine toys would sell.

Ftfy

I wouldn't say Marvel Studios but Marvel Comics, I say that because now they have made the same joke about the "Martha" scene in BvS about 5 times now.

You mean 2. In comedy series. From different writers. As if the scene doesn't deserve to be ridiculed. As if at least the first time they didn't have jokes against Marvel movies too

Not sure about the Batman one, but the Superman one is a landmark and a cultural icon. Shit even TDK got an oscar and is still the only cape movie to gain recognition other than being a popcorn movie.

Not that user but TDKR does kind of blow its load at the very start. The plane opening is impressive because it's real and you go "how the fuck did they do that"

But then the plot happens. And it's the same plot arc condensed twice in the movie for no real reason. Batman quits because fuck it. Then he's old and busted, so he has to get his groove back, then he gets Bane busted, and has to get his groove back AGAIN. Then he quits because fuck it. Goyer's script sucks.

Nothing is more garbage than Sony.

You sound pretty defensive.

I'm just tired of all these conspiracy theories

...
