itt Sup Forums villains that should have been immediately gunned down by the police before superheroes or various military organizations had to get involved at all.

Joker.jpg

He literally turned himself into the police.

Gunning him down would have made all his plans go off perfectly.

Actually if they had just shot him it pretty much wouldve been over.

Although this guy can tank spiderman punches to the face like nothing so...

well he was bitten by a miniature sun.

>Actually if they had just shot him it pretty much wouldve been over.
Then they wouldn't have any clue where Harvey Dent or the chick were, they both would have died, the gangsters would have had ALL the money they needed to control Gotham and make sure it was corrupt for good.
Two-Face was necessary to kill the organized crime bosses (and Joker killed a couple)..

>get bit by sun
>don't get nuclear fusion powers
>get more arms

Doc deserved better.

She really should have been, but then again I'm pretty sure the police are an urban legend on that version of Earth.

This fucking joke of a villain.

You'd think that in a world with constant super hero shenanigans all happening in New York for some reason the NYPD would have some kind of special unit of megacops to deal with the daily villains.

fucking green goblin should've been electrocuted immediately but instead they gave him free reign over all of fucking SHIELD

what the hell?

Fucking this.

I don't know what's worse. The many times the cops avoid shooting him in very clear cases where lethal force would be allowed (e.g. Red Hood)... or the many times he HAS been shot, only for the cops to rush him to the fucking hospital.

Seriously. If Joker got away with even a quarter of the shit he did and the cops managed to drop him, they'd wait 15 minutes to call in the paramedics and unload a revolver in his chest in the meantime.

I wonder what his game plan is when the thing runs out of power

>ITT: we complain that any villain without super toughness is weak to the cops

They are called The Avengers. Marvel NYPD union actually has rules about blues not engaging super villains.

nigga i an't gonna shoot him what if he whips back the bullet ?

With Tony Stark running around and losing shit all the time, I'm surprised that lesser mech suits like that one aren't a standard part of every modern military fighting force in the MCU by now.

That's not even remotely what he's saying.

That's bullshit though. The entire reason for why the mob turned to Joker was because they were getting their asses systematically kicked by Batman. Not once is it ever alluded to that the problems they were having with Batman was from "not enough money".

Would've been infinitely better if it was a Marvel version of the Killdozer.

They had the arms fighting him for control.

They should have had a punch from Spidey KO him but then the arms keep puppeteer his unconscious body.

He deflected Tony's repulser rays with his whips.

I was going to start posting Batman villains but then I thought; "too obvious".

...

Whiplash is not a bullet timer and he's just wearing a leather harness. Anyone can shoot him.

>With Tony Stark running around and losing shit all the time, I'm surprised that lesser mech suits like that one aren't a standard part of every modern military fighting force in the MCU by now.
Well we know they are trying since Ironman 2. And if Vulture managed to build alien tech weapons, surely government spies must have gotten some too. Damage Control doesn't seem too competent. Everything the Vulture did, foreign agents could have done.

Logically, the entire MCU would just be an ever-accelerating arms race after Iron Man, with every nation and rogue group trying to build the biggest and most advanced mech with near-future technology, but do you really want 2-3 Metal Gear Solid movies coming out every year?

>with every nation and rogue group trying to build the biggest and most advanced mech with near-future technology

isn't that whole sub-plot that has been around the chitauri technology left behind on the battle of ney york?

But Winter Soldier basically being a Metal Gear movie is part of what made it awesome.

But then we'd have to bring logic into the mix and the government could just eminent domain away Tony Stark's industry, basically giving us a completely different genre as all superheroes become irrelevant and we just have normal armies solving every problem except with some special infantrymen having the firepower and range of a fighter jet.

They *literally* tried to do just that and it ended with hundreds of nova cops dying.

>tanks a reactor explosion
I am pretty sure she'd be bulletproof

why did they form a stupid ass net made of ships?

>Logically, the entire MCU would just be an ever-accelerating arms race after Iron Man, with every nation and rogue group trying to build the biggest and most advanced mech with near-future technology, but do you really want 2-3 Metal Gear Solid movies coming out every year?
I see it like with nuclear weapons. That the nations with nukes would rather that no one else have them. So even though Ironman tech and alien death rays are slowly spreading, the major powers are doing their best to prevent it. If you are a big country you don't want weaker nations having access to alien death rays.

That actually would be cool.

I honestly think it's implied that Peter holds back when punching Ock. The extended cut makes that theory harder though.

i mean before he attacked xandar or even got the gem. they already knew he was a terrorist but the kree empire refused to do anything about it

>As soon as super villains are defeated, the state doesn't immediately execute them and burn everything about them unless their powers was technology based and can launch mankind or the nation ahead in progress.
I can't understand.

>>As soon as super villains are defeated, the state doesn't immediately execute them and burn everything about them unless their powers was technology based and can launch mankind or the nation ahead in progress.
>I can't understand.
See, the thing is in MCU the government already has advanced technology ever since WW2. They had captured Hydra weapons and flying cars. So you xan argue that it isn't that the government isn't interested in tech, it's that the tech isn't that new.

The Chitauri batteries for example, are less safe versions of Arc reactors as they explode if handled wrong. So Tony Stark just kept them stored up rather than using them.

Spidey obviously pulled his punches

Even at 50% he would've turned Ock's head into mush

More like that normal human villains whose costume doesn't include armor over their vital parts should be actually vulnerable to bullets.

I thought the implication was Batman beats their ass but he's just deterring some crime. He can't put the bosses away. He wanted Harvey to strike the legitimate blow needed to put those guys away

Bane.

I refuse to believe that a city with Gotham's population would let him ruin shit without 1 person even ATTEMPTING to kill him.

How has he not died via police brutality?

>a guy with a high tech flying suit and advanced alien weapons is beneath notice
>a half naked guy with a whip is a threat
What did Tony mean by this?

Aren't the Avengers too busy fighting space villains and having Civil Wars?

Yeah, I always thought Marvel focused on the wrong parts of worldbuilding. Like Damage Control is pretty cool, made a lot of sense, but then they write the cops out as much as possible instead of giving them a cape squad or something. They don't even make them famously corrupt and lazy like DC, they just kind of... write them out.

That was the basis of Armor Wars.

>MCU

I imagine if they have time in another dedicated Iron Man movie they'll cover it; otherwise I'd expect more allusions like the ones from IM2.

>Law enforcement in Monaco is provided by an armed national police force consisting of 515 men and women.[1] With 515 police officers for 35,000 people in 1.98 km2, Monaco has the largest police force and police presence in the world on both a per-capita and per-area basis.

Although that probably seems like a lot, when you take out the prince's bodyguard, detectives and other non-street staff such as specialist maritime patrols, there's probably something like 250 at most on the streets. The Grand Prix is one of the busiest times in the year for Monaco; it's attended in person by more than twice as many people than actually live in Monaco, on top of the local population - about 100,000 (estimated in 2010).

So that day, the Sunday, if you spread out the street officers evenly there would be about 1 in 400 people. Reduce that further because they're most effective in groups; same number of officers, but more spread out. If you see two in the movie, the next two - logically - would be some distance away, doing crowd control.

On top of that, beat officers are armed only with pistols - the chance of getting a solid hit on a human, body-armored target sufficient to knock him down is low except at shorter ranges. Where he can literally cut them in half.

Truth is, most cops would be better used evacuating the public from that situation and only challenging the attacker if there were no other alternative. Things can go from cocky desperado to dead desperado and dead crowd real quick.

They had a Capekiller squad... it wasn't popular.

He's got an asshole like the inside of Emma Frost's throat.

that happened in Monaco. Yuropoor street police don't carry guns normally. though this is the Gran Prix. So there should have been SWAT teams and armed street police near by.

It's a democrat run hell hole. so no one but the elites with connects can get permits to own guns in the city. the economic situation in gotham was still shit.

so you had a bunch of scared working poor people, a few urban elites, and bane with his personal army. then all the criminals he let out of prison.

The police in Monaco are derived from the same tradition as the French Gendarme, and carry sidearms as standard.

There are specialist response units, but since Monaco only has a population of 30,000 and already has one of the highest police-civilian ratios in the world, there aren't a lot of them. Moving to the front of the Grand Prix from a ready reserve position (which necessarily cannot be close to all positions of the Grand Prix despite Monaco's small size) takes time because of the crowds.

Typically in case of a civil emergency that went beyond Monaco's ability to respond effectively it would call upon French units from Nice or Menton, whether these were police, fire, or whatever.

I feel like you're reaching for a flaw that really isn't there, and the more people explain the problems of Monaco to you, the more you retreat into willful ignorance.

Gotham policemen are all pussies.

They probably thought it was a joke the moment they heard his voice. By the time anybody realized he was serious, his goons would have had time to disarm them.

I'm sure France's police helps out at the Grand Prix.

>Yurop=Bongland
Still with this dumb meme?

>do you really want 2-3 Metal Gear Solid movies coming out every year?

YES. GOD, YES.

Bane doesn't even need Joker gas to beat people with laughter, he has Paste Pot Pete powers.

>but do you really want 2-3 Metal Gear Solid movies coming out every year?
Yeah?

didn't they write in no man's land that outside of gotham, police departments find gordon to be a massive joke because of his known working relationship with batman?

sure you can have the flash and superman help once in a while but if most of your cases need a vigilante to solve it then people will talk.

>asking the plebs of Sup Forums if they want le mature vydia for mature children like myself adaptation and expecting a no
It's like you think this board has taste and aren't a bunch of plebs with an inferiority complex.

It's comics accurate for Spidey to hold back when fighting regular humans

The stupidest part about this shit is why did Harry give him the suit?

How does it benefit him for some retard mobster to chimpout on the streets and smash shit

He might hold back to not kill his enemy, but there is no reason not knocking him out.

I don't see why they would. Monaco has more than enough police. Even if only half of them turned up to work on the sunday of Grand Prix, there would still be as many as the US has for the same population. In fact, it's likely that there are 50% more police per head of population at the Grand Prix than are likely to attend the Superbowl.

>What did Tony mean by this?

One was being trying to be off the radar and not attract attention, while the other deliberately made a show for everyone to see so that the people would know that their seemingly invincible savior could actually be hurt.

I imagine it's not easy to dial it down specifically like that, once you're holding back because you're afraid of killing people, you're probably going to overcompensate a bit.

Because it actually stopped the Dark Aster in its tracks. The best it could do was maintain equilibrium. It gave the Guardians enough time to penetrate the hull and board. It would have lasted them long enough to assassinate Ronan and destroy the ship's bridge.

Remember that no one knew Ronan had any control over the Power Stone. Based on what they had seen from the Collector, no mortal could control the stone, so they thought Ronan was saving it to drop from orbit or something. The net only failed when Ronan blew a hole in the center of it with a blast from the Power Stone in his hammer, which they couldn't have anticipated.

Because if the power stone touched Xandar's surface, the entire planet was going to be destroyed.

Some parts like her helmet probably are bullet-proof, but tanking ham-fisted punches from Garnet and reactor explosions is different from tanking bullets. Those things are a lot of force spread out over a wide area, but bullets are a lot of force concentrated to a very small area. They'd probably go through her form a little and really slow her down, and if one lucky shot even grazed her gem she'd shatter instantly.

side note: does anyone know what the heck is going on at that chapter? like was it a fake diamond or something?

Metal gear? Yes, yes I would.

>pointlessly give him a suit
>for the last 10 minutes of the film

The movie was so baaaad.

They're starting to, as of Luke Cage.

He was wielding cosmic power and even if not he is an alien so possibly resistant to normal bullets.

Regular boxers can kill people by accident before knocking them out. Pretty hard to find the knockout zone when it's so close to the snapping neck zone. So ofc spidey errs on the side of caution

my friend i can assure you that in my expert opinion as an engineer, being at the epicenter an explosion powerful enough to restructure a cliff is just a wee bit more force per unit area than a bullet exerts

Well, how does a hunk of jasper survive such an explosion?

Gotham has anti-gun laws.

they aren't literally normal gems user

Still waiting for them to introduce Mandroids in the MCU, desu.

You see cops with submachine guns rushing to arrest him seconds after Stark subdued him. They were just standing off screen the whole time refusing to do anything. Also he wasn't wearing any armor, just the arc reactor and leather.

>just make his brain hit his skull a little bit
