--song of saya.
this is also a spin off of the dreaming, same lead writer as well, have I read it? No, but you will feel pain all the same.
This comic won a glaad award...apparently.
...
This comic is so 90's vertigo.
...
...
NOoooo...stop.
...
...
...
>90's vertigo.
>Dean Ormston
Yep. He looks good sometimes, but terrible most of the time. His Sandman stuff was not very good, but his cartoony look worked well for one issue of Unwritten and House of Secrets.
His Lucifer issues were pretty bad
...
His stuff doesn't bother me as much there but yeah here's it's one of the reasons this story falls apart.
wait till we get to the bathtub....
Man I can't wait for a peachy keen appearance by Death.
Oh Blanche is so crazy. She has a future I tell you.
...
looking up this comic the first results your going to get are from Scans Daily.....from Insane Journal....sigh.
arg forgot image.
...
...
ISSUE 2 now two to go.
now we spend two issues...in a bathtub.
...
now you may wonder why I don't censor this....I don't think it possible to tell there are nipples with this art.
...
...
...
...
...
...
Bump.
...
Thank you! This might be the worst vertigo thing I read.
Next time look up how many Sandman spin-off there are and look at how many got collected....this one did not.
I was a huge fan of the death spin-offs and.....wait till we see her.
>Thank you! This might be the worst vertigo thing I read.
No problem.
...
god we get it your raising a zombie army......God Morhpeus would tell them to get on anti-depressants. .
...
Also if anyone knows anything about the Dreaming series feel free to chime in, that is the only Sandman spin-off I don't know about.
it had the same writer as this series and apparently the leads also showed up in it.
...
...
...
...
we are at issue three.
Will Eva get out of the bathtub? and when will death show up?
...
Gosh this is terrible
This isn't that bad.
wait till we get to the end...
...
Ive read it
...
What's with storytiming so many bad comics?
I would still say it's bad. From the overwrought narration to indulging all the cliche's that Neil tried to avoid with his death, his death wasn't gothic horror, it was a part of out lives we had to accept. I really feel like this series really missed the point and ends up ends up being more fanfiction.
it's tradition around SDCC to do it, i had this loaded for the first day but life happened.
I mean its bad in comparison but as a standalone it's no Marville
I like Dean Ormston, I think he's very good and I love 90s Vertigo art and coloring.
...
Look there is not much as bad as Marville this is painful in it's own way, especially if you know your gothic horror cliches. This comic is painful because man there have been plenty of good Sandman stuff by other writers too who did get it.
Like seriously that Lex Luthor issues is fantastic.
Bump
Also most of this comic is someone whining about there girlfriend and doing nothing till the end. Like seriously it is bad.
...
...
...
I have not even talked about how this does the bad vertigo writer thing of putting curse words into everything to sound edgy, I mean compare this to Ennis.
...
Ennis has some of the most creative cursing in dialogue.
...
...
...
...
Like the damn Geek comic got reprinted, so did the Prez one shot. This:? Ho boy.
Though the most conflicted book in Vertigo library for me is the Rachel Pollock Doom Patrol. Who could really follow up on that ending?
last issue will we see Death?
Now let me tell you why I think this is pain.
In most stories the climax and the clever twist is what will seal a story.
this twist is special....so very special.
...
I'm not too sure that a lot of the Sandman spin offs have actually been collected. Lucifer has had two full collections, but The Dreaming only had the first 25 issues (out of 60) collected back in 1999.
A few of the Sandman Presents were not collected
>Bast, 3 issues
>Petrefax, 4 issues
>Corinthian, 3 issues
I think there's more, like the Thessaly stuff that was collected.
...
I still found a lot of the Sandman stuff in trade to be fair, the Furies got a collection as well the Punpkinhead, but Sandman was the orignal fables for Vertigo. This one also does not have a lot written about it. For a while all I could find was a forum talking about it and a small mention on wiki. The stuff you mention I did hear of.
This is also because well this is Death, the most popular character in Sandman who get's so much stuff about her that this series stands out as why did this get lost in the shuffle, than I read it. and the reason I'm storytiming this is the next page. How does Blanche get defeated?
cosplay, we never actually see Death in this mini-series instead, we have Eva cosplaying as Death. We are supposed to take cosplaying seriously as a way to take out an evil zombie army. I mean come on?
This really feels like Sandman fan-fiction.
pffft, man I didn't remember it being this bad, damn.
the focus on a oc to the fact that the oc takes the place of a cannon character. Maybe the writer was jealous that her stuff never reached the height of Neil's work.
Fucking what
yeah the last issue is kind of a mess in a way that you are not prepared for.
This is really reminiscent of the Bleedingcool "Dr. Endless" fake news
Remember the high cost of living? Death does not have an artifact of power. Apparently her Ankh can give you super cosplay powers.
the Sandman to be fair always had queer content, it makes sense for there to be a connection. But this is really the worst thing I've seen attached to the sandman.
