That's been obvious for a while though. She's extremely clingy with Bobby yet multiple episodes hinted that Clyde is actually her only her only real backup if the relationship doesn't work out. The fact that she can be reduced to dating a child just gives the impression that she's not very popular or liked at school. She probably considers herself lucky to have a boyfriend at all, and is desperate without him.
