Apparently there's a Rampage movie in the making with Dwayne Johnson in it.

But the premise is all wrong, I thought people turned into monsters after drinking the strange liquid? from the trailer, the animals themselves grow larger through a similar chemical. I guess it doesn't really matter.

God this sucked so much. I actually really really like HOTD and it WOULD have been cool to have Thomas Rogan (Eric Bana) and G (Keanu Reeves) and the others done properly

Prince of persia was sweet
>tfw I've been quoting the umbaka line but no one gets it

ANGRY BIRDS

The guy who made house of the dead says he based the look off the movie se7en so you could just watch that

Mortal Kombat and Silent Hill are the only two good video game movies.

Damn, that poster brings me back. I never saw this movie, but I remember 9 year old me seeing commercials for this paired with the commercials for Viewtiful Joe

First two people like to pretend are bad movies but are genuinely entertaining, and pretty interesting, even if they are "badly acted" and "a mess".

youtube.com/watch?v=1kh5X5CJAOU
youtube.com/watch?v=Eo2VTV3nLIo

And Mortal Kombat, of course, is a legitimately good kung fu movie.

I actually like doom, and its got rewatchability, for me at least. as for the other two I have only seen clips of mortal kombat and I don't remember the zombie movie

I just read about that. Kinda sucks. Also no mention of Boris or Ruby.

Pretty cool movie with a good soundtrack.

cool movie, cool soundtrack.

>pic related
Super mario brothers movie was cool and entertaining. Also had a cool soundtrack.
I don't know why people pretend to dislike these movies. Maybe it's for the same reason they pretend to like the shitty iron man movie or think that "empire strikes back" (a disjointed mess) is the best star wars movie.

Unironically love this movie.
>[rudy]SHOOT IT, [boat captain who was already shooting the zombies swimming towards their friend ]what do you think I'm trying to do you fucking moron.

House of the Dead
Max Payne
Silent Hill
Mortal Kombat
DOOM
Tomb Raider
Resident Evil
Prince of Persia

All are great or at least entertaining.

Max Payne especially

Zombie movie is so bad it's great

>when they randomly cut to footage of gameplay from some of the HOTD games because they have to remind you that you're watching a movie based on The House of the Dead because it has next to nothing to do with the games
>you can see a crosshair which is a dead giveaway that they didn't even bother to capture footage from the actual arcade hardware
Fucking EMBARRASSING.

>people actually pretending that the story of Rampage was important

I unironically love the first Silent Hill movie. Take away the Christopher scenes and you have a legitimately great standalone movie.

the resident evil movie series eclipsed the games creatively years ago

Yeah, however; the plot could be a lot more interesting with humans going rogue with the chemical product and using it for their own self interests rather than some generic b list syfy monster movie

Literally my favorite scene from the movie.
youtube.com/watch?v=kSAei2-c83s

"B-Movie" syfy approach will work, because that's pretty much what the arcade game was to begin with.

There's no reason a lab would create some super potion that makes things 10 stories tall.

>oh god give me the strength to stay pure
>shreds vagina with rusty barbwire

The first resident evil movie was pretty shit, but the second was basically a game... it had good scenes and all that goofy action shit.

Does anime count?
Street fighter and tekken were pretty decent animated movies.

Fun reminder that Anderson got fined over 300 thousand dollars for daring to have the movie title screamed before a single one of the producers companies logos showed or even base credits.

And to this day hes proud of it.

Silent Hill jumps to mind. Christophe Gans clearly has a lot of love for the source material, the Akira Yamaoka's score works incredibly well, and Ito's creature designs from SH2 are repurposed for the first story to keep the iconic designs without losing too much. No idea if the sequels hold up though.

animated game to movie, movies.

Which tekken movie, the 2d one or that 3d thing (blood vengance I think?) I've never seen either and would like to save time if one is godawful.

>No idea if the sequels hold up though

It doesn't. When films try and copy too much of the video games story literally, it ends up coming off as extremely awkward.

Here's a comparison

no such thing

This movie deserves more praise.

Tekken the motion picture.

I always thought the intro was pretty cool.
Animation wasn't the best, and a bit cheesy in areas, but, it did seem to make effort to try and say something about the nature of violence and anger while suggesting that love and compassion shows that there is more to life than pure brutality.

It's actually a decent little movie come to think of it, especially for young men.

>When films try and copy too much of the video games story literally, it ends up coming off as extremely awkward

While I agree with the instance you posted, I'm not sure I agree with the general premise. I thought part of the charm in the first Silent Hill movie was watching the main character gain "key" items and lose them after they had been used. It was a fun, subtle rehash of "this item is useless now, would you like to discard it?" And considering the carousel scene in the SH3 game often involved mutilating your darker self with a katana, I think awkwardness is kind of a given no matter how you play that scene.

But I also complain about blockbuster movies following video game boss structure with their antagonists too closely anymore so what the fuck do I know.

I remember thinking The Suffering would make a great movie. Although thinking on it now it might be a bit too out there

That's ok. I thought Manhunt would've made a great movie. Then I turned 14. Suffering at least has stuff there, even if some of it is kinda wild. They'd never include the main character turning into a giant, hulking prisonbeast though. Which is a shame.

hey thanks user I'll give it a watch.

The first Silent Hill film is good if you ignore the last 1/3 of it

Jacob's ladder and House on Haunted Hill (remake) are pretty good stand-ins for that.

Hellraiser 2 as well, to an extent.

based
the production company logos are cancer that never fit in with the rest of the movie

maybe we should. most americans could stand to lose at least 17 pounds.

bringing back fat shaming would be the most logical conclusion desu

>Fun reminder that Anderson got fined over 300 thousand dollars for daring to have the movie title screamed before a single one of the producers companies logos showed or even base credits.
Source on that?

it was in the interview with him discussing the lost (and found) footage from event horizon. I think it was after a con he was holding a panel at (either wizardworld or one of the smaller comicons) and he did the sit down interview. Its hard to remember which one because it was around the time he was promoting the 20th anniversery of MK and the final RE movie

Neither SH or SHR are faithful to Silent Hill at all.

I also thought it was humorous how Sean Bean's character DOESN'T DIE when he does in the original SH3.
