ITT, character design elements you love

ITT, character design elements you love.

Doesn't matter how under- or over-used they are

Pumpkinheads, for example. A character with a jack-o-lantern for a head always manages to catch my interest

Pumpkins you say?

Chevrons are also really cool (and by extension, those pointy masks like Hawkeye and Wolverine wear. Same effect)

And big metal underbites

pointed teeth, especially on females

I'm an absolute sucker for skull masks.
They just look cool.

Hood/Mask combos.

I feel you OP

Characters with metal skin who aren't robots.

extra limbs

Fire "hair" usually looks nice

Girls with cartoonishly long hair, reaching past their waist or to their ankles.

Jackets over traditional superhero costumes.

Yellow shining eyes on an orange mask are always welcome.
It's too bad I hate Samhain as a character

Mouth mask make my Willy wet

Best super boy

Creepy masks in general.
Bonus points if you can't see the eyes.

That's why Pumpkinhead movies were such a disappointment to me.

Tacticool when it's done well.

Proportionally huge hands/gloves/gauntlets.
Don't really have any examples on hand.

Black robes/robe-like clothing.

It's just classy, and it always looks good on villains.

Mouthguards- Scorpion/Subzero from Mortal Kombat type design, Winter Soldier after widow shoots his goggles, Faora helmet, Loki @ end of avengers, etc.

I know it's rather mundane, but I really like it when a character, especially a villain, wears a gold watch and a ring.

I hope that pun was intentional

what is this

I've got to hand it to you, that's a pretty good pic

Full face masks.
Basically any time that we never get to see the person's face or even their eyes. Especially on villains.

Human faces actually look comical on super villains. They're way more imposing when they're just an idea behind a mask.

Fairly simple, undertoned and underwhelming characters that suddenly go full dakka with some unpacking mode

Theatre characters that dance in a non-friendly manner and/or rely on masks for expressions. Actual wooden masks with facial expressions, not superhero sock masks.

>skull masks
my nigga

The humble chest harness.

I'm a sucker for the classic pulp hero get-up. Coat, hat, mask.
And I like how the characters had to wear an additional iconic item on top of these, like Wesley's gas mask, or The Shadow's scarf and opera cape, or The Spider's vampire make-up

Yes
YES

Muh niggas.

I've been naturally drawn to Staff fighters from a young age for some reason

Honorable mentions: Gambit, Aang, Kilik

Thigh highs

What about Ünderbheits?

The baldness + the fucking lightning neck + the scars
This is the BEST design Electro ever got, and what did they do with it? Used it for one arc, then a game and then just forgot about it

bump

Johnny Blaze

oops wrong thread

Those sideburns are a pretty awesome character design, thouggh
