The book pushed Simon at first but yea Jess is getting too much push here and in JL at least the issues Ive read.

I think they made a mistake when coming up with Jessica. She's followed a "self doubt/awkward lantern" arc that is similar to Kyle's.
They emphasized her struggles too much, and the result is she seems like she really should not be a green lantern (like how it seemed with Kyle). Some other color would suit her better (like they ended up exploring with Kyle).
Between Jessica and She-Hulk, is there a conspiracy going on with green women that should be strong actually being "traditional weak females"?
also they had been changing who's arc is was before this. like the gotham one was simon. and even the arc before this was focused on them both and when the went with ramithoom the nararation boxes were more focused on simon and his problems with his brother

Captain Boomerang is a long standing character with enough popularity that he'd only die in some big event. He got his brain copied into a computer and then his body was reconstructed by some Star Trek transporter bullshit.
Kryptonian chick was a throw away character created and then killed in this lone issue to show how unstable the first rings were. Her odds of coming back are very low. If she's really lucky she might show up in that Green Lantern afterlife they showed in Hal's book.
