That's the whole point of Jasper's character. She's a hypocrite as a result of her past making her feel very conflicted towards a number of things. She acts tough on the outside but is full of doubt on the inside, and despite being "perfect" physically is very disturbed mentally.

Jaspearl is the best potential ship in the show.

Jasper's sense of selfworth depends on being the strongest and best at fighting. Earth gems are generally considered worthless by Homeworld, which is why every other Earth Quartz besides Jasper has been stuck at the human zoo doing jack shit and getting nagged by Holly for their entire lives. Jasper knows that she failed her purpose just like they did and that the only thing that kept her from being thrown away like them is how she was born physically perfect, this causes her to constantly overcompensate in order to reach those perfect standards that she has set for herself. Unfortunately for her, she chooses to prove her superiority by putting others down and distancing herself from everyone emotionally, and this caused her to become a friendless bitch who is very emotionally stunted

She appears like an arrogant psycho with a superiority complex on the outside because she actively hides her fear and vulnerabilities, but as Earthlings shows, she is actually very insecure and lonely, Garnet even foreshadows this revelation about her character with the "I think you're just mad cause you're single" line

She originally did not like fusion because she saw it as an unhonorable way to get stronger, but after Garnet beat her she was willing to do anything to win, because to Jasper, failing proves her worthlessness. She is constantly beat by fusions because it represents how she is wrong in believing that you have to be strong by yourself and that receiving help is a sign of weakness. She eventually becomes a fusion whore because Lapis fusion raping her for so long caused her to feel weaker without the strength that they shared together, and the way she got sad about Lapis and the dog she raped leaving her shows that she genuinely wanted to understand fusion/relationships, but instead failed and realized how unlikable and alone she is, which just made her feel more worthless and is why she felt she deserved to get corrupted instead of letting Steven help her

I see you are a man of taste, user. It is true that they would compliment each other. Besides the points you already named Pearl could also come over Rose with this. Yes she went for the mystery girl, but that was because she was Rose down to the colouration. Jasper is still a quartz which seems to be her type but at least isn't rose exactly. Furthermore Jasper could lern to aprechiate Pearl for being strong in the real way
Also their fusion weapon would probably be a warhammer, which is awesome

People who don't like Jasper are the same people who don't like Asuka. I'm sure there are more characters lile this, but Asuka is the most popular one I can compare her to. Their fake superiority complexes and self worth issues are the same. I don't think her arc was written that well (I don't think most of SU is written well), but I love Jasper's character, and her issues with fusion and relationships are something I really want to see resolved by the end of the show. Rebecca Sugar has talked about Jasper a lot and said she will be returning so I hope she will get time dedicated to achieving some sort of closure, especially now that it is likely she was misguided in believing that Rose was the one who murdered PD
