I was surprised by the last episode, I thought he was going to get some development, probably keep Lori as his crush but not acting in an autistic way, but they ruined in the last second.

Because the fanbase for this show died when people got bored of making lewds of it and moved on, and realized it isn't a harem anime. What makes it special is that it's actually rather simple with how it makes itself special, which leads to people getting bored of it if they're looking too hard for something more.

Clyde is a terrible character. He's literally the safest concept they went with, likely designed by a circle of purple haired illustrators who watched way too many Nick sitcoms from the 1990s. But so are the rest of Lincoln's munchkin 'friends' who are so shit they only appear in a limited number of episodes. I'm pretty sure the show would be better if Lincoln was friendless and the classmates were just another obstacle to overcome.
