What went wrong?

What went wrong?

Writer forgot to write a comic with actual characters in it, instead of Girl A, Girl B, and Girl C.

That's a workable setup. Nadia grabs all these teen supergenius girls to form a little club only to realize they all share the same personality and traits and has to discover why they're like that.

The concept is stupid and destined for failure. A girls only science club but they're all brown girls in New York and are smarter than everyone else was a bad idea.

You know who did it better? Future Foundation.

because you take a legacy character, have all the potential and backstory to do, well, anything, and instead use it to create yet another booster rah-rah girls can do anything storyline when you already have 5 of those currently ongoing
oh and you fucking cheated to make your painfully uninspired acronym work

At least it's over. Unless they shuffle her off to Champions I guess.

They already have

She was an ill-conceived idea inspired by movie synergy, and given to a male feminist with zero writing talent.

Well, Champions is already tanking, so it's not like it'll make much difference.

Only one more chick and the Champions will have an even gender split for the porn artists to work with.

are you counting she-chapulin?

>Movie Synergy

But that isn't Hope.

Agree that it was poorly thought out and that the pushing of spectrum traits as "cute" isn't a proper thing.

She could have worked but not the way it was doing with was near as bad as America.

Nadia is means "Hope" in russian.

Whitely is a shitty writer, he can't even write a book that the ponyfags like, and those faggots eat up tons of pony shit.

Still won't make me put up with Waid's current shit-tier writing.

She's only had one appearance, so no. It'd be like counting the Muslim schoolgirl.

well count her in too. Porn can always use throw away, non-descript holes to fill

She's still on the Avengers.

Schoolgirl with an AK is a pretty interesting concept for a superhero. After all, what problems can't be solved by a burst of 5.45mm? Not many.

With the upcoming Avengers vs Champions story arc they've announced? Not for long she isn't.

she should have been the character from the movie complete with the movie costume, and they should be building an actual rogues gallery for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

instead she's just another generic teen smart girl in another generic comedy book who doesn't actually fight crime in her own book who only stumbles into problems.

>brand new character nobody on earth could possibly give a fuck about
>bland, boring writing
>overdone and unoriginal girl power theme
>supporting cast full of brand new original characters nobody could give a fuck about
>potato faces
>mediocre art in general
>no hype

That and marvel just terrible at getting this stuff in front of the audience that would eat this shit up.

The comic was obviously aimed at young girls. I guess they wanted another scholastic comic to go with Moon Girl.

Man, Marvel really likes lowering the expectations of their future readers.

Hii i am using jio card is this. Harmfull for me

I forgot to add
>writer with no name value
>artist with no name value
When you have both of those, AND a character with no name value, no shit the book won't sell well, regardless of quality, unless it's one of the best comics EVER and even then it's not a guarantee. The book being bad didn't help but if Bendis was writing it it wouldn't have been canceled.

Marvel has too many fucking books

There should be a limit at 80 for the dc and marvel, 50 for image, and who even cares about the rest

>make a group of girl geniuses
>they're all from new york
if you're going to go for diversity or whatever atleast be somewhat creative about it

but user, glorious Jew York is the national beacon for diversity in the world.

>destined for failure

Sure and not a mystery to be solved as to who or what is creating super intelligent girls that are practically clones of one another.

Didn't you make this thread earlier?

Everything else wasn't 1/4 as good as that cover. You know the one.

Not insane enough. None of the mental anguish that Pyms are known for. Instead, she's a sassy gurl who wins through friendship and gurl power because womun are funny and powerful guys, get over it. She's so deserving of receiving a big party at the end of her run just because she's so smart and talented, like all gurls. She deserves to be empowered, because womun deserve it guys. They're oppressed enough already, why add to that with actual challenges and weaknesses for her character to overcome?

What went wrong? The core premise of the book was just male-bashing. Not even pro-female but focused anti-male. It went wrong from the very start.

The "smartest" list didn't come out of nowhere, we didn't start with the list and work from there. We started with Hank Pym talking to ants, with Reed flying into space, with Doom inventing a time machine. The list came after the fact by the writers and fans who went, "here are all of these characters accomplishments, now where would they be ranked?"

The new "smartest" characters flip the script. Just *declare* them the smartest ever without ever showing any accomplishment. Nevermind you have a team of these girls building technology that Reed invented by himself in the 1960s, just accept the proclamation. Also, accept the "fact" that all the writers and all the readers for the past 50 years are a buncha sexist asshats.

Why in the world should I pay money to be insulted? This book was so bad I didn't even *pirate* the last few issues.

Show, don't tell. Want me to accept these new characters as the new smart kids on the block? Have them prove themselves. But that can't be done, these books must be cheerleading sessions of everyone hugging each other over how awesome each other is while not actually doing anything.

As far as I can tell, feminist literature lacks any form of conflict which is a fundamental aspect of storytelling.

Marvel shitting a legacy character out of nowhere and giving it an ongoing months after debuting like always.
