So this is happening

So this is happening.
And they'll be the ones adapting the series now.

I liked kick ass films more than the comics. they were less edgy.

Don't like the taste of evil dick?

That is not a particularly controversial opinion.

I liked the second movie more.
The second comic took itself too seriously.

I like the first comic over the movie because I thought it was a bit more boring/wacky

Well I didn't know, I usually only hear about how bad those movies are on Sup Forums. Anyway, has Millar done anything else past Nemesis? Is it less edgy nowdays?

He's been consistently working, so he's never stopped.

He's less edgy nowadays but outside of Reborn (mostly), his latest few comics have been pretty bad (but not due to edgyness)

They don't have the balls to adapt the unfunnies.

They don't right?

Here is what seems to be on the table
>twitter.com/netflix/status/894549044927660032

>has Millar done anything else past Nemesis?
Sure, he's currently working on the final saga of the Jupiter's Legacy/Circle tale. Now that the heroes have saved the world from the villains we might get an explanation about the ayy lmaos.

can you send me a link of it? I don't know what that is.

>twitter.com/netflix/status/894549044927660032
I wouldnt mind seeing Reborn and Nemesis.

Kickass Netflix reboot when?

that's generally true for all the millar adaptations. I hope they could do the same with Nemesis. I thought it had a load of potential if they handled it like the kickass movie.

Kick-Ass and Kingsman aren't included.

I guess their rights haven't been reverted yet.

>Kingsman
wait Kingsman is a comic? A Millar comic on top of that? Ididn't even know that. And I liked the first movie.

Marvel owns both but I was being optimistic.
It isn't Millarworld right?

But the upcoming Huck movie is going to be Netflix exclusive now so that's good.

the comic and the movie are very different.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jupiter's_Legacy_story_arcs

Read in order of release, you might also want to read Supercrooks sometime before Jupiter's Legacy Vol. 2 since it takes place in the same universe but it's not essential.

>It isn't Millarworld right?
They're Millarworld, and have been promoted as such, but the rights lie elsewhere I believe.

Yeah.
The comic is getting a sequel which is going Full Synergy

Remember Millarworld has two continuities. The one where villains took over the world and the one where heroes were the bigger force.

I don't think I've met a single person who prefers Millar comics to Millar films and, honestly, I don't think I want to.

Best superman when?

Easily the best thing that came from Man of Steel.

Thanks m8.
>The comic is getting a sequel which is going Full Synergy
which is a good hting knowing Millar.

>which is a good hting knowing Millar.
It ain't.
The comic had actually interesting stuff it could build on. Going full synergy is a big waste.

if i remember correctly Millar was triggered by MoS and did this comic?

ok I'll read those too.

I'm not sure what this is. An anthology series? A collection of movies or series?

Yes, Supes killing Zod was too edgy for Millar, so he proceeded to write a story to give hope to people and remind them, that classic superheros are supposed to lift up spirits, not crush them.

this is weird since Kick Ass and Kingsman have very edgy kills

Yeah, but not by Superman.

Here's hoping for a Nemesis show.

Kingsman had "edgier" kills than the comic.

The comic was just people getting shot.

Millar a hack but a good salesman.

Can't knock on Millar's hustle. Cheeky bastard.

>too edgy for Millar
i would've never thought such a thing was possible

Womb bombing wut?

This was fucking bland. It's a good example to refute people who keep saying that Millar has become a good writer.

>this is weird since Kick Ass and Kingsman have very edgy kills
There are two Millars, the one who seems to be a very cohesive, thoughtful writer with love for silver age heroes and the one who ends books with THIS IS MY FACE WHILE I'M FUCKING YOU IN THE ASS and THIS WAS MY MASTER PLAN ALL ALONG 10 YEARS AGO I KNEW YOU'D HAVE TWINS.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out he has a ghostwriter under his thumb.

hyped, and I'm not even a big fan of Mark Millar.

(the whole goat licking thing is a major turn off)

>THIS IS MY FACE WHILE I'M FUCKING YOU IN THE ASS

Another moron who didn't understand the ending of Wanted

>Supes killing Zod was too edgy for Millar
This is the same guy that had a woman bang a fish-monster over and over right?

enlighten me

That was Alan Moore

Basically
>Silver Age comics were great and the readers killed them by buying edgy shit like this

You're welcome

That was Moore before he learned to appreciate what Lovecraft was actually about.

Ha! beat you to the punch!

If you genuinely don't know anything about comics lurk more, read some, and post less. Confusing UK writers for each other is pretty gauche.

As someone who whacks it to women having sex with bipedal monsters, I like the direction this is going.

But I know what direction it actually took, and it's not quite my bag.

>As someone who whacks it to women having sex with bipedal monsters
Son, you're among family here, no need to preface

I'm sorry I never let comics consume my life to a point where I couldn't forget who wrote what? Grow up.

is right.

Stop making excuses. You have the internet; use it.

You're being really defensive of two writers that I find sub-par.

Why buy the whole company and not just the rights for film/tv? I hate these Megacorps. Once they are done with the IP they will just sack everyone and close shop.

I AM SO GODDAMN PUMPED!!!! FUCK THE HATERS!!!!

>Why buy the whole company and not just the rights for film/tv?
I assume that it's cheaper to buy the whole company than each IP individuality. They can also just keep the company rolling so they will also make more IPs for free and also money if they are any good at managing it.

>Once they are done with the IP they will just sack everyone and close shop.
[Citation Needed]

That doesn't even make any sense. Why would a corporation (netflix isn't mega, not yet) waste an opportunity to make even more money and ips like that? They will almost certainly do it the Disney way, and keep Milalrworld running while they make adaptations.

Millar's new work isnt edgy at all.

Starlight, Huck, and Jupiter's Legacy + Circle are all fantastic and the best things Millar has ever put out.

>Huck

Good idea, insanely bland execution.
You're right about the rest.

you fucking idiots realize he killed Zod in the comics too, right? Is Millar as much of a casual as you guys?

then explain Nemsis and Ultimates

I agree, Huck isnt as good as people make it out to be, but its better than most Millar works. People fucking blow it because they are triggered by MoS though and dont actually read superman comics.

>better than most

Starlight is way better, and even that is just very good.

I agree, but id still put Huck above all of the Kick-Ass bucks, Nemsis, Wanted, & 1985. Maybe Ultimates and Red Son are slightly better.

With you

Kick-Ass books*

>all of the Kick-Ass bucks

Maybe if you're biased about tones.
But at least those carried on some semblance of a plot.

thats fair, i just thought after the first one he went too off the rails. But i can totally see how someone would have your opinion.

I can see some stuff working better as series, like Nemesis, Supercrooks or Jupiter Chronicles
Still, most of Millar books are basically sripts for movies, high budget movies.
Stuff like Empress, Reborn or Chrononauts need a big screen and lot of money.

Millar is a cancer on comics and one of the biggest sellouts of all time. Literally fuck this human being.

Maybe budgeted miniseries than one big movie?
I can see that working for something like MPH

So overrated edgy comics aimed at 16 year old man-children is coming to Netflix. Who cares?

>16 year old man-children

>16 year old
>man

...

If it's significantly less retarded than the comics plot than I can live with it just tone down the edge

Pls No

Cannot wait for the Unfunnies series.

Here's how it works

>Someone actually talented likes Millar's idea
>Dissects it into what works and doesn't
>Creates his own thing
Kick-ass is easily most faithful of these adaptations, ergo easily least successful commercially. Wanted and Kingsman are entirely different things.

Nemesis could work only if they take that story and shred it with their hands.

>Kick-ass is easily most faithful of these adaptations

>calling out casuals is being defensive

Is this how you do it in your subreddit?

huck would make a nice feel good forest gump remake

>you fucking idiots realize he killed Zod in the comics too, right

DC wanted to steal John Byrne away from Marvel so badly they agreed to something no comic book company has done before or since, give him editorial fiat on Superman. That meant they couldn't veto anything he cared to do in the book including have Superman make a porno with Big Barda.

The execution of Zod and his cohorts was literally the final issue he wrote, and the writers who picked up the pieces immediately afterward had Kal-El regret it so much he exiled himself from Earth, only returning a year later when one of his nemeses made it clear he would go there to conquer it.

But okay, keep cherrypicking things you read on social media and wikipedia and pretend you read comics.

Silly boy, I own the original issues of Byrne's Man of Steel.

And how does that in anyway negate the fact that it happened in the comics? Because someone didnt like it means it didnt happen? Also notice that the writer who didnt like wasnt autistic and go rid of it, he accepted it and made it part of his story. And him regretting is fine, he regrets it in MoS immediately after it happened.

Stop being a faggot. Are you going to try and nitpick away the fact Superman also did pic related just because you didnt like it? Or that in the majority of cuts of Superman 2 he also killed Zod (inb4 someone brings up that one cut that was only ever broadcasted once on television)? Or are you going to explain away when he killed Nuclear man in the Reeves movies? Or how about the multiple villains he killed in Smallville? Or when he killed Mixy in Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?

Don't be a faggot.

forgot pic

>Nemesis could work only if they take that story and shred it with their hands.

About the only salvageable component of the entire thing is "mysterious villain in earless white Batman costume, maybe billionaire who bought a thrill ride as a sequel hook." Everything else would have to be scrapped and started over.

I bet you thought this was a good post.

It actually follows comic pretty closely aside from Dave's relationship with that one chick.

How does this nigga keep making money?

I wish that with this in mind, Netflix can make Kick Ass 3 finally

Oh boy, can't wait to see how they'll push leftist ideas onto this one.

So which of his comics are they gonna adapt?
And what does this mean for other movies that are adapted from him like KickAss?

>Warner Bros bought DC Comics in 1968. Disney bought Marvel in 2009. Today Netflix purchased Millarworld and I’m still blinking. This is only the third time in history a comic-book company purchase on this scale has ever happened.

forums.millarworld.tv/t/biggest-news-ever-netflix-buys-millarworld/10356

the ego on this guy, Valiant, Malibu,Wildstorm,Crossgen ect ect he does know he's only one guy.

also it's time for everyone to pick up a pencil and start making comics apparently there's money for everyone.

Millar has just read a lot more Superman than post-crisis fags to differentiate between the real Superman from post crisis Superman.

Maybe you're forgetting about someone who has written both Supes and Batman very well, you fucking red cunt

You really fucked your argument my dude.

Look at this post2 of his 4 superman are killers, and Kingdom Come Superman literally abandons humanity and becomes a fascist.
Maybe you should read more comics before acting like an authority on something you know nothing about.

Morrison isn't fond of post crisis Superman either. Neither is Moore.

>even Morrison's Superman ends up using his raw strenght to threaten an alien into never returning to earth like a thug

really makes you think

source for any of that other than you projecting?

>TFW they do an Unfunnies adaption
