What the fuck went so wrong?

What the fuck went so wrong?

They gave too much time to the 'team', pulled too long on doing the actual reveal and wasted a awesome villain that needed to be fleshed out and should have kept around and instead had him killed off. weirdest interaction between iris and barry as well afterward.

Barry Allen is not Peter Parker

Barry is a moron because the team needs to be useful and they keep bad guys low level power wise likely for budget reasons.

Speedster villain for the third time in a row with the most predictable twist.

Shit like his dad saying 'conquer your fears stand up and fight, my son'

And then flash stands up and punches the baddy and wins
repeat this with pretty much every other character
Maybe that was season 2

I'll be real with you I only 'watched' stuff past season one via random youtube clips, but what I saw seemed to indicate a show attempting to be serious and having the logic and subtlety of a 90's inspirational anti-drug-bullying infomercial

Like shit, I heard Arrow and Iron Fist are even worse but this was like, 'I have nothing but pity for people who stuck with this' bad

>Airs on CW, the posterboy for hamfisted teen melodrama
>Iris, Joe and HR standing around at all hours of the day
>Iris only exists for pep talks
>Caitlin refuses to become Killer Frost, the only time she's remotely interesting or capable of acting
>Third time's the charm...!
>Clumsy episodic villain-of-the week format ruined by 45 minute mark. What was done in 23 episodes could've been done in 10
>Barry's the fucking villain
I dunno, user. All capeshit on CW is a ticking time bomb. Doesn't matter if they started out decent

They built a story where the horrible thing they were trying to avoid was Iris dying. When that's my main recommendation for how to improve the show.
>Kept the reveal of Savitar far to late, when everyone had already figured it out, it had no effect on anyone in the show.
Another season of will or won't Caitlin turn evil.
>Shittest version of Harrison Wells desu.
No stakes other than Worst!Wells dying (there'll just be another one next season).
>Underuse of Tom Felton who was a better actor than most of the rest of the cast.

>Arrow

Arrow's latest season was significantly above this and Iron First

Season one was good

At this point it'd be easier to point out what went right. Too many wrongs.

The Iris character killed that season for me. The actress herself is absolutely beautiful, but god damn is she bad at acting. She is probably the worst actress on that show and had way too much screen time, which she couldn't carry. And all of it was drama, which should make you feel for the character. But I simply couldn't.

Get rid of the damn drama and go back to more easy going, fun loving adventures of the Flash. Let him face new villains every episode, even if we've seen them before.
Just stop focusing on one villain and one plot too much. Especially if it involves Iris to such a ridiculous degree.

Too many speedsters, not enough Rogues.

They stretch their main villain storyline for way too long. They should have 2 different arcs for a season, like they do with AoS.

>ANOTHER evil speedster final boss and TWO new evil speedsters total
>Barry continues to be the worst decision-maker in all of television
>too much focus on "Team Flash"'s personal problems and CW teen melodrama (the amount of times someone says "can we talk?" is ridiculous)
>Barry and Iris relationship still has creepy pseudo-incest vibes
>Barry continues to be the slowest/least skilled speedster in the room despite claiming otherwise
>plot points are dragged on for far too long to fill time/the season

It became too formularic. i dropped it, personally. It ain't wirth wasting close to 20+ hours on this shit.

Savitar was so boring that it was hard to get invested in him as a villain and by the time they revealed who he is, it was hard to give a fuck.
Even Zoom for all his faults was more memorable as a character. Savitar's personality ended at "I hate you Flash. I am God"

Time remnants

Solely because of Professor Zoom

the forty minute format. every single epsidoe would be improved by removing 15-20 minutes of bullshit plodding along

This.

This.

Not all villains can be Dan "The Man" Kuroto in terms of quality.

20+ episode seasons that didn't need more than 10 episodes.
A supporting cast that doesn't deserve the time they get on screen.
Too much time spent on Barry bumbling about instead of doing good.
Overacting.

>what went wrong
CW writer's pool and soap opera mandates

The show collapsed under its own need for drama

Also Iris has zero chemistry with Barry and that's a problem in a show that's half soap-opera

"Legends of Tomorrow" killed the Rogues and it's time to move on.

>Expecting anything on the cw to be good after season one.

The Flashpoint story-line utterly destroyed the characters and the drama.

For all the talk about Barry facing "consequences" for his decision, he doesn't face shit. Savitar wasn't created because of Flashpoint, it was Terminator time loop bullshit. All the bad things that happened to his friends in the new timeline were resolved in two episodes due to the show being unable to show Barry as actually in the wrong. It turned Barry into a colossal asshole and the side characters into a gaggle of sycophants who have to sit around sucking Barry's cock every time he throws a temporal tempter tantrum.

And the flash-forward with Iris' death was a complete disaster. It renders everything that happens before that utterly meaningless, literally every single episode about Barry trying to save Iris (which ended up being most fucking episodes) was totally worthless because you KNEW nothing was going to work, the show had already set up its stakes for the season and we already knew the show wouldn't have the balls to change them before the finale. It was quite literally a season of padding when it wasn't actively destroying the characters.

You could watch the season up until the "flash-forward" is first revealed and then just skip right to the finale and not miss anything.

I didn't know Vordt of the Boreal Valley could stand on two legs.

Arrow S2 > Arrow S1

This show has always been shit. Next you're gonna come around and say the DCEU Flash has a better costume too. Flash fact, buddy. Everyone but you CW retards knew this months ago.

> Next you're gonna come around and say the DCEU Flash has a better costume too

o i am laffin

I'll take the cheap CW cosplay over that unfinished armor nightmare.

>Barry is fast enough to travel through time in the first season and still is in seasons 2 and 3 but every conflict is STILL "you have to go faster Barry"

The true problem with the show?
>Character storms out of room
>I'll talk to them
This literally has become a meme, I hate it.

Neither remotely qualify as Good.

Hey man the phone's ringing

Caller ID says Legends of Tomorrow, should I pick up?

I can almost unironically say that this is the best live action Flash costume, but there's probably a better Porn one.

Depends on how low you have the bar set.

>what went wrong
Barry fucks everything up, episode after episode, season after season.

That's relative. In this case, it's season 2's versus season 1's, and LoT and Arrow both disprove your point.

>tfw no patty
