This is an example of a Forced Meme.

How did Sup Forums get away with this

Crowning Moment of Funny:
*user made a dumb thread
Crowning Moment of Heartwarming:
*user made a dumb thread:
Crowning Moment of Awesome:
*user made a dumb thread
Tear Jerker:
*user made a dumb thread
Getting Crap Past the Radar:
*user made a dumb thread.

No fuck off.

Work on your Precision F-Strikes user

how does tvtropes act

Dead All Along: You just got spoiled even with the filter on, motherfucker

Dethroning Moment of Suck:
*user made a dumb thread.

- Another example of the Forced Meme trope was the Milhouse Meme (although this was subverted by doing a Heel Faced turn and becoming an actual meme) on Sup Forums.

This is an egregious example: user made a dumb thread

If you want to be in a TV Tropes environment, why not just go to TV Tropes? At least go to Sup Forums. Why even Sup Forums?

Averted: People generally agree that the thread became better after [[[Growing The Beard]]] in post 147.

Nightmare Fuel: there was once a thread where user said some stupid shit and another user suggested he had a sexual intercourse with said user's parent (it wasn't downright said but hinted which also makes it a Fridge Horror moment) which is deeply disturbing when you think about it. Especially when you consider there are kids browsing Sup Forums and this could be highly traumatic for them, the mental image of a unknown man on the internet molesting their mother. I know because this was very traumatic for me, as once I read this post I shat a lot of bricks and cried and it was really really terrifying. It is a very very scary post. Basically the scariest thing I've ever encountered in my entire life.

>We act as TVtropes as possible.

what's that even supposed to mean? Should we talk only in tropes?

Troper Tales get out, REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

NoRealLifeExamplesPlease

I bet he means Troper Tales or another bunch of shit removed from site years ago.

this is too meta for me

ITT: Anons talk like they usually do but put tropes in front of it.

Wrong Trope: Horrible description of something similar to the trope but still fails to explain why it is that trope

>Headscratcher:

"So what do you guys think Pickle Rick symbolizes?"
Why he do it? btw i havnt wtched the rest of the episod yt just want to knw wht yu gys thogt.

Laconic

straight up, fuck those kinds of entries

Whenever a character description features lots of spoilers you know he dies.

Funny thing, it wasn't until the "Troper Tales" YouTube videos got popular that the site Troper Tales got removed.

I remember that. Sad neckbeards mad they're never getting any, fetishists, and other degeneracy. I admit my school years sucked balls too, but I was never like these cretins.

Also lots of "nothing personnel kid" edginess

*Deletes the thread*

Can we touch upon how autistic the Nightmare Fuel sections of the website are?

The worst Dethroning Moment of Suck in all of Sup Forums for me was when user made a dumb thread. LIKE, SERIOUSLY????? It was SO out of character for user to make a dumb thread, all for a [[DudeNotFunny]] mean-spirited joke at the expense of tropers. I made me go into a Heroic BSOD and scream and punch my pillow.

Tutorial on how to lose your hope for humanity:
>Go to a page of anything popular on there
>Go to it's WMG

Oh I remember having a good laugh at some of those

The Fallout 4 nightmare fuel section lists absolutely everything from the game except the radiant quest system.

What's your most & least favorite trope?

This shit makes me hurt, why do people do this and act this way.

*Entry about a highly skubtastic show but only fans of that show would bother to write about it so it's just showered with praise*

TROPER TALES!

I had a Crowning Moment of Awesome yesterday when my Badass Longcoat was yanked by my Magnificent Bastard nemesis. I pulled out my BFS and he called on his Five Band Band and I totally eviscerated them with Ludicrous Gibs. I was such a Badass that I made Chuck Norris look like a Runt At The End.

Afterwards, I went took a Shower of Angst to wash all the blood off of myself and began Drowing My Sorrows in an ocean of Frothy Mugs of Water. Then, I gave my Bratty Half-Pint brother a Reason You Suck Speech about how all Humans Are Bastards and that God Is Dead.

It was the best day of my life. I accomplished everything that I wanted to do that day.

Whenever a thread becomes considered "epic" on Sup Forums, it can be voted to go to the Archives. Almost every board has a section in said Archives. Each page has around ten threads on it, and page numbers vary from a few to the infamous Sup Forums's section, which, to say the least, is huge. Also note that Epic Fail Guy moments, memes, and various other categories get their own sections, and you've just taken out a good chunk of your free time trying to read them all. Oh, and there's always more coming in. Enjoy your lulzy prison...

K

So nothing about the site changes.

>That entire pantheon thing
Should I link it, or is it too autistic for this thread?

You know you're going to.

Nightmare Fuel: this totally tame thing I saw in a kids' cartoon or a bad tv show.

>Character Page
>Childhood Friends section
>FOR TROPE SENTRIES ABOUT the Brainwashed and Crazy alter ego GO TO VILLAINS SECTION!

Well okay then dubsperson, here you go with the almighty, disgusting page.

Oh God you aren't kidding.

Getting too many replies: Repost here or your mother dies in her sleep.

There used to be a section called High Octane Nightmare Fuel that had entries about diseases and Cosmic Horror. But then a bunch made an entry about Asperger Syndrome and it all went to shit.

As an officially diagnosed Asspie myself I gotta say those people were fucking faggots.

Oh, this is a goldmine. Thank you.

...

This. I learned to not take recommendations from that site. And I learned quickly.

What is it about tvtropes that attracts such [ire undiluted concentrations of cringe? Why does every single person that posts there have a complete lack of self awareness?

The very concept of being able to categorize and sort stories and interactions is something that appeals to autists innately, thus TvTropes attracts those with that disorder who commonly lack that kind of self awareness to avoid being cringe start with.

TvTropes is at its basest concept Autistic kids sorting LEGO.

No, really. Why are Nightmare Fuel pages so awful? Even if you take the whole "horror is subjective" thing into account they seem like total pussies.

>IncestIsRelative

I can't really think of a favorite trope but my least favorite has to be getting crap past the radar because they freak out about the tamest shit.

>this kids show said heck which is a less offensive way of saying hell. I can't believe the network let them get away with that.

...

This troper suffered from years of discrimination for his constant fangasming over My Little Pony and Homestuck, before remembering the wise words of Princess Twilight Sparkle and administering a crowning moment of (precision F bomb) to the haters.

Fuck you

It's full of autists women and children with a great deal of overlap between those groups.

There is nothing even remotely scary in Fallout 4. Legend of Zelda is scarier than Fallout 4. Those floaty masks in Super Mario Bros 2 are scarier than Fallout 4.

>WMG

X IS A TIME LORD

At one point, it was full of teenagers and children. They don't always know what they're doing, so they tend to make a lot of cringe. There were also plenty of furries, otaku, a kind of proto-tumblr obsessed with Buffy and other things like it, and many more.

When it comes down to it, it's a site for fans of things. Fans are communities of people and they'll support cringy things to support each other. That's how Deviantart and Tumblr got that way. You can see it from the olden days of the internet too. Fanfiction.net and Livejournal were full of cringy little stories where stuff like Mary Sue and Shipping really hit a stride online. I'm not saying it didn't exist before, but those two sites and others like it contributed a lot to its spread due to being large communities with a lot of people in it.

tl;dr Being a part of something can make doing cringy stuff seem normal. That kind of behavior lets the cringe grow and manifest in various ways.

Unfortunate Implications

There is nothing even remotely scary in most things that have Nightmare Fuel pages.

Top tier webm

WMG?

>This troper is generally a nice, friendly person until you push her Berserk Button. If you do push that button, beware. I WILL scream and insult you. Often to the point of crying.
So she's just use feminist tactics?

People spit out braindead, nonsensical theories about stuff and it gets condensed into one page.

Nightmare Fuel, just for the lol factor on the pages.

>a kind of proto-tumblr obsessed with Buffy
As an aside, I keep going back and forth as to which is the worse result of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: TVTropes or Joss Whedon's career.

I remember there being a mod that despised the videos, deleted the entire TV Tropes page on Troper Tales under the reasoning of 'fuck this guy and his videos, we're not giving him exposure'.

He also jumped at the chance of deleting the Troper Tales thread on the site the moment activity wasn't high enough to disguise it as a reason to delete a dead thread

>web.archive.org/web/20110226115102/http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TroperTales/CelibateHero
o i am fuckin laffin

Wild Mass Guessing. It's where people throw out stupid theories about various shows/books/vidya/wahtever and collect them on a page. It's like shitposting, but with more Dr. Who references

>They don't always know what they're doing, so they tend to make a lot of cringe
This is a thought I will never understand. Children and teenagers "Don't understand" that you find what they're doing "Second-hand embarassing" (Whatever the fuck that newspeak means) so you need to teach them this by calling them cringey and calling what they do (Caring unironically about media) cringey?

If you want to grow up and stop crying because some kid's TV club doesn't think like you do, feel free to visit TVtropes for the first time in four years. Take a look around, you'd be surprised. The SJWs took over and deleted all the rape-related tropes they find uncomfy.

Sorry my bad, it was supposed to be 'This Troper'

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Weboriginal/ThisTroper

I'm writing a novel where the protagonist is recovering from being on the receiving end of an extremely abusive relationship with his ex-wife. Thing is, he's a loud, meddling, free-spirited, bisexual werewolf.

>Only one poster has said "This Troper"
Shit thread

>"Second-hand embarassing" (Whatever the fuck that newspeak means)
How is this hard for you to understand?

If someone does something in front of you and you are embarrassed to be around them, that is embarrassment.

If someone tells you about something they did and you are retroactively embarrassed to know about it, even if you weren't actually there, that is second hand embarrassment.

Is it a CYBORG werewolf?

They were talking about it earlier (), they just got the name wrong.

Very triumphant.

That's a horrible idea. Make it a steampunk werewolf.

UH, THIS TROPER WOULD HAVE YOU KNOW THAT EVEN IF IT IS STEAMPUNK PARTS IT STILL FALLS AS A CYBORG ENTRY!

>If someone does something in front of you and you are embarrassed to be around them
Thank you for clarifying. Now, tell me how a child talking to his friends and being uncool in his TV discussion club a thousand miles away from you makes you unhappy, and tell me why it makes you feel so embarrassed.

Not if he's a robot eldritch abomination badass longcoat.

because while we like to think it's kids in our heart of hearts we know it's a bunch of old people acting like kids

Serious question. Do you have autism? Cause you type like you have autism.

Uh, try to call it as a AmbigiousDisorder to avoid edit wars.

You mean "feminine tactics".

>web.archive.org/web/20110225120453/http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TroperTales/BewareTheNiceOnes

>He broke 33 pencils in his life
Holy crap!

Nightmare Fuel: This troper pooped xir diaper when they learned that Sans is Ness :(

>a bunch of old people acting like kids
So it bothers you when mature adults don't act in a mature manner? That bothers me, too. But if I had to choose between adults acting like little kids in some child's TV discussion club and adults acting like retards on some forum I like using, I'd prefer the former.

"Cringe" is a buzzword, a lazy weasel word that detracts from any sentence it's used. If you have legitimate complaints about that shit site and how shit it's become, you can articulate them without needing to use a word so shallow and immature it basically just means "Ungood".
