The Lion Guard

Scar didn't actually do anything in the television movie, so today's episode is the first one with him in it. The next episode, sadly, is over a month away.

This show is complete shit why does anyone but little kids and DeviantArt fantards give it the time of day?

I like the characters.

i like the porn

There's clearly not enough of that.

Episode can be watched here.

I feel pissed off to always see the Lion Guard bully-scaring the hungry predators from the Outlands away because of Circle of Life shit, but never actually show the two fucking predators in the Lion Guard themselves eating any meat at all.
That does make the supposed to be morally superior Lion Guard's message just too hollow.
I get it that the Circle of Life is just an educational tool to teach kids who watch this show that they should be moderate and not too greedy, but if almost half of the good guys are part of the same group that normally represent the bad guys, and they never show how to do it correctly, kids ain't gonna learn.

It's too sterile to care about. Which really is a pity.

episode where fuli and kion go feral and try to eat the rest of the guard.

>too dark!
>it's a kids show goddammit!

Fuli was shown hunting once, but in that episode, the thing she was hunting never spoke. All animals can speak in this universe, so she was literally trying to kill somebody, but they tried to make it presentable for kids.

Why is the leopard so hot?

She's a poorly design cheetah, thank you very much.

They pretty much give the message that everyone in the animal kingdom eats nothing but grass. Its really stupid. Almost as stupid as the shitty flash animation
>be a large probably close to a thousand pounds hippo
>able to keep up with a cheetah a lion and a fucking bird
>there's also a honey badger because...kids like honey badgers?
>and Kiara who was the star of the second film is in it...although she's just wall decoration along with her two brain dead friends
>and Simba who returns as being a dick to everyone

Fuli never goes at full speed unless she has to. Hell, there was an episode of her going full speed all of the time and it ended with her collapsing from exhaustion and nearly being eaten by vultures, as she was unable to move.

Hippo is the worst character, though. He's just boring. At least I can hate Bunga.

Kiara's downgrade is disappointing, but at least she has some cute loyalists who worship her every move.

In the end, it's just a silly turf-war show where Pridelanders tell Outlanders and Backlanders to fuck off.

I wish this show was more popular. It being labeled a preschool cartoon really did it in. Most people refuse to give it a chance.

If there was an episode like this then I'd probably watch it.

Like fuli looking at ono like he's a chicken leg and says "You're looking really tasty right now."

>Its really stupid.

*It's really stupid.

that statemint will be stooped

I don't have a problem with preschool cartoons. Sofia the First is a great show.
But the Lion Guard is just not that enjoyable for older people with its repetitive storylines. The bad guys are quite fun, but the heroes themselves are so fucking bland.
Little kids might be able to overlook it though, and perhaps they enjoy it even a lot.

Perhaps the main characters need more flaws, but I don't think flaws are the right way to make characters interesting. They've been playing up Kion's anger issues, which ended up bringing Scar back. Oddly enough, only the villains know Scar is even back. Maybe they're saving the revelation for another special. He's only back as a lava ghost, but still.

I think Fuli and Ono are the best members of the team. They've had some good episodes that focused on them, more-so than the other characters.

When exactly does this series take place? Scar is in it, Kiara, Kovu, how long before Timon's mother shows up as well?

They've said it takes place during the time-skip in The Lion King 2. Kiara has met Kovu, but hasn't grown up yet. Suffice it to say, The Lion Guard honors Lion King canon, but the same isn't true in reverse. I very much doubt they're going to weasel Kion into the ending for the new Lion King reboot.

Well, perhaps with a little bit of luck, the new storylines with Scar returned will somehow allow the evil outlander carnivores to win some victories, so that they can be taken a little bit more seriously.

That would certainly help the show. I think it's just hard for them to show the villains winning because they can't have characters get killed off on-screen. They've shown a dead elephant, but he died of natural causes.

>She's a poorly design cheetah

*She's a poorly designed cheetah

The villain song in this episode was pretty entertaining. Probably the best in the series so far.

Is that literally all you do? You make small correction to bump threads without reason.

>You make small correction

*You make small corrections

I thought they were setting Kion up to be similar to Scar and Kiara would be more like Mufasa.

In the first episode movie when we meet Kion he's an asshole to Kiara paralleling the antagonistic relationship we first see with Mufasa and Scar. In that same scene he even does that evil scar grin when Kiara asks him what he wants to be when he grows up, and he replies "happy." It has that same sarcasm to it like in the first film when Simba says to him "your so weird" and Scar replies "you have no idea"

I thought the show was going to give Kion Scar's power and then have him be conflicted about using the roar. His main arc in the show would be that he was tempted by evil and need to eventually make a choice similar to in El Tigre, Manny has to choose whether he will be a hero or a villain.
