I really liked RS, and I didn't care about the self insert aspects with Mordecai, but this does come off kinda pretentious. Is the character's name going to be JG? If it isn't that's just weird. If it is, it feels weird to have yourself on these wacky escapades and being the presumably straight man. I get that's what it was with Mordecai but Mordecai was really his own character, with just a few creator things like the Hm Hm Hm and Oooooohhhs, which I think was his college days.

Here in LA they were promoting TBS' animated lineup a few weeks ago and screened I think the first episode for a few days, I went to see Final Space but they were doing one at a time and I couldn't figure out when/if Final Space was being shown, so I checked out this.
JG tries to be a cool guy but also tries to be a straight man, despite being interested in smoking weed and wanting to skate again, he hides it from his friends and his wife. At the end he gets sent to the hospital because he fucked up a stunt and admits he just wants to be chill but also exciting and fun, they say K and that's it. It was a half hour but I still ended up paying the usual.

A few times, Alex and Randy have some good lines. Bridgette and JG's wife whose name escapes me were just GIRLS NIIIGHHTT and talking about weird things their husbands have done. JG can act well enough but whoever wrote it kept him mostly the straight man except when his weed kicked in. The animation in that scene was good by the way.
The only character that feels strictly unfunny is the black grandma, I've never cared for that kind of character, she wasn't in it much though. The episode suffered from being laid back and having jokes be spread out, which can be fine but some jokes don't land or feel kinda forced, plus I think I was supposed to be laughing and non-jokes because of how the characters say their lines but it just seems weird, might just be me.
They had like 3 stories in the episode which was interesting.
