I personally didn't mind it, I just think people were put off by how stupidly hard they were pushing it. If they just released the episode then continued with the usual schedule nobody would've minded but for a whole 8 hours they just repeated the same exact episode. It wasn't even a Rick and Morty marathon because it implies they aired other things from the show.

April fools is a dumbass holiday and no April fools pranks are ever enjoyed by the people who have to suffer through some assholes barely excused idiocy.
I was pretty thrilled when the giant shit on my living room floor was actually 2 pounds of some pretty great fudge.
Well I have to admit last week's episode was pretty enjoyable, even if it was still predictable that Worldender would be slain and Rick would take over as villain. Even since the huge crash between episodes 1 and 2, they've steadily become better and more atune to what we're used to seeing.
Which brings us to tonight, and aside from the most obvious appeal Summer's giant ass I have high hopes. Ridley is credited as writer and Rick and Jerry have never really talked man to man. With Jerry at one of his lowest points, the big buildup throughout is most likely going to be when Jerry grows some balls and finally lets loose on Rick for what a piece of shit he really is.
Again, fairly predictable, but the proof is in the payoff. Much like the therapy subplot, it's ok if they fart around it as long as the ending is satisfying. This will supplemented by the action of whatever hijinks they get into on the alien world and of course be broken up with the Summer subplot, that looks entertaining as the family tries to figure out Rick's shit without Rick there to roll his eyes and fix it immediately (before he returns home at the end and does just that.)
Unless of course Jerry is given the standard "saved the day, gained some confidence" spiel where he gets to gloat to Rick about how he's not worthless and Rick reluctantly has to agree, and naturally it was all a set up by puppetmaster Rick, who once again manipulated everything. Which would be lame.
If they had aired the episode that Sunday I wouldn't have minded.
But nope. Some people PAID for the episode on VOD and it didn't air that week. That's infuriating.

Let me put it in perspective: Even when he finally left the house and was barely seen the entire second episode of season 3 was about the kids talking how much Jerry affected them and didn't give two shits about Beth's role in all of this. Even when he doesn't do shit he still affects the characters and plot greatly.
