Teacher fired for making pepe the frog children's book

A Denton ISD assistant principal is coming under fire for writing a new children's book that some say is politically-motivated.
The book is called The Adventures of Pepe and Pede but it's the symbolism behind those characters that has people talking.

my question how the fuck will he not be sued by pepe's original cartoonist

Didn't the original cartoonist disown pepe?

So, whats the symbolism behind Pede?

>nbcdfw.com/news/local/Denton-Assistant-Principal-Under-Fire-for-Writing-Childrens-Book-Starring-Pepe-the-Frog-439944173.html
I thought pepe was owned material, how does one publish a book with a chgaracter they have no rights to?

Lmao, liberals get to brainwash our children as much as they want but as soon as anyone wants to tell kids about the other side it's a problem. What a fucking joke.

Is still his character, I guess. Didn't he make a kickstarter to 'revive' Pepe or something? He should have just done another Boys Club.

reddit shit, which is enough for this being justifiably taken off shelves.

Ped[s]e[/s]philia

why would a teacher get fired over this?
that doesn't even make sense.

>Pepe REEEEEEs
>Pede ?????
I'm drawing a blank here.

What a retard.

Pede as in "centipede"

If you make a company look bad in any way, they have the right and even necessity to fire you. The teacher makes something controversial, so for the school to not look bad for the parents, they have to fire him and they don't need a reason for it.

I thought Texas was a redpilled dream state where shit like this never happens, did Sup Forums lie to me?

You are advocating mob rule and hysteria.

PEDEphile user

Yes.

IDK what he was expecting.

In America there are no rights, only corporate interests and copyright lawyers

a school isn't a company. pretty sure that's illegal. the teacher could be a stripper on the side. it's really none of their business what they do in their free time.

The_Donald subreddit call themselves Pedes as in centipedes.

But PEDEphile works as well.

magapedes AKA /r/the_donald fanboys

That's not an autistic screech.

There's nothing to really look into right?
Just look at the villain of the book.

What the hell is with all these news articles popping up in Sup Forums lately? It's like really efficient bait.

Teachers can and have gotten fired for their facebook photos before. Unless you've got tenure you've pretty much always got one foot out the door.

That's how it works in the US buddy. It's the free market, you hurt the brand of the company, they don't have any obligations to keep you around (unless they think you offer something that offsets any bad PR)

It was an ISD so yeah, the school might as well be a company. Free speech doesn't mean your employer/s have to stand behind you at all times. Again, they don't really need a reason to fire you more than 'you are hurting the company/school image'.

Teachers can and have gotten fired for being cornholed by their students before too.

For a lot of it yes, but the major cities like Dallas (Denton is part of the amorphous blob that makes up the Dallas mertroplex) are liberal strong holds that rival Mordor's power.

i don't get it

>the left is still triggered by a cartoon frog
I've seen one where they gave some guy hell for designing "pepe" clothes, clothes with a cartoon frog on them, despite looking nothing like the Pepe.

Speaking from 2nd hand experience, the world of an ISD can be as dirty and corrupt as a governor's office. I kid you not, I've see one guy's entire political career derailed and a plans at the state level fall apart over the results of an ISD election. There might be pressure coming down from higher ups if this gets bad enough.

Conservative politics are vile and incorrect

That's your opinion, chumbo. I could say the same about your political values too.

supposed to look like a muslim holy man

I've read about this book.
Corrupt old farmer leaves "Wishington" farm and heroic Pepe takes over.
Vaguely Muslim-like alligator and his burka-wearing mob of daughters still live in the swamp nearby. The corrupt farmer had brought them in.
They must be driven out to make the farm "great again."
"Buds of truth" (i. e. redpills) are thrown at the girls to make their burkas disappear.
All through the book, various alt-right concepts are hinted at.

Gee, I wonder what else the story reminds me of: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reynard#Antisemitic_version

You'd think conservatives would be better than their liberal counterparts when it came to subtlety.

>be rightwinger
>make pepe book for kids, which if it had featured a random inoffensive storyline would actually turn kids into pepe followers without problems
>but that's not enough, add centipede reference
>but that's not enough, add kek
>but that's not enough, add literal redpilling
>but that's not enough, be ragingly anti-muslim
>but that's not enough, rip off plotline from actual Nazi anti-Jewish children's book from 1930s

>claim complete ignorance of everything
>it won't work
>dumbass

>All politics are vile and incorrect
Fixed your typo.

Thanks, that explains it. I was wondering if the book has some kind of message that people dislike, or if the problem is just the presence of a frog called Pepe.

There's already plenty of liberal/leftist entertainment targeted at children and attempting to form their political opinions for them. If that's supposed to be just fine, I don't see a problem with a book displaying a conservative stance. It would be just fair and balanced to let kids see both sides.

IMO the biggest problem is that Pepe actually has a copyright owner, and people shouldn't be able to use that frog commercially unless the owner says so.

>There's already plenty of liberal/leftist entertainment targeted at children and attempting to form their political opinions for them.

I'm no fan of hardcore political correctness, but I've never seen a liberal children's book encouraging dislike toward anyone but racists and sexists—and even there, I've never seen a liberal kids' book with a "literally exile your enemies" message.

This Pepe book, by contrast, not only has such a message, but seems to take it straight from actual Nazi kids' lit.
That's more extreme than any number of "Jill has two daddies" type of books.

What does this have to do with the centipede?

>What does this have to do with the centipede?

"centipedes," often shortened to pedes, is slang for trump followers, it's what they call themselves on the huge the_donald subreddit.
Thus Pepe (Trump) with the help of Pede (his followers) cheerfully drives the muslim animals out of his farm.

Holy fuck

...

Compare the Muslim gator with this Jew rhino from the 1930s Nazi children's book. It really is exactly the same shit

...

...

>literally mudslimes
this is fantastic actually

It's from a cartoon propaganda piece
youtube.com/watch?v=tMyE4y5pRkM
>TFW Nazi propaganda is better than modern day cartoons

hey, you're right. the Muslim character actually becomes a kind of Jewish stereotype too. Holy shit.

I read about the illustrator of the Pepe book. She's a lady in Ukraine whom the author hired online. She was told what to draw, and sent references, without being shown the full text of the story, and was alarmed after the fact to learn what kind of story it was.

Oh lawd.
I mean, at least make it subtle.
Either that or go all out and make it balls to the walls crazy.
I mean look at , If the nazis beat you at subtlety, you're probably doing something wrong.

>I read about the illustrator of the Pepe book. She's a lady in Ukraine whom the author hired online. She was told what to draw, and sent references, without being shown the full text of the story, and was alarmed after the fact to learn what kind of story it was.

So Mr. School Principal effectively trolled his own illustrator.

And if they did encourage hate at someone, How Bad Could It Be?

The ones in the burqa are starfish.
Storytime when?

I must say, that looks surprisingly well animated, the rest of the nazi cartoon propaganda isn't nearly as good.
Who made this?
did he dead in the war?

>In Holland, the writer and politician Robert van Genechten re-wrote the ‘Reynard the Fox’ fable to feature an evil Jew-Animal / rhinoceros, and published it as an illustrated children’s book in 1941. This book became the basis for an animated color film, the most ambitious project of the Dutch movie industry during the War. Although completed after great expense in 1943 and of superb technical quality, the film was never released. All copies were thought to have been lost until 2005; its first public screening took place at a cartoon festival in Utrecht in 2006.

germanpropaganda.org/literature-for-children/
Will we ever see it?
Also
>The third of Stürmer Verlag’s storybooks for young children was “The Mongrel” (1940). It is perhaps the most evil book ever written. Each of its eleven chapters is an individual story, in which Jews are compared to drones, hyenas, chameleons, coo-coos, locusts, bedbugs, starlings, mongrel dogs, poisonous snakes, tapeworms, and bacteria, respectively. Several stories end with a demand for their extermination. Finally, in an afterword, there is a ‘call to the youth of the world’ to help annihilate Jews living outside of Germany and still beyond the Nazis’ grasp.

The Dutch

Yeah, I know you're trolling.
Still, the Lorax is up against a rich, exploitative industrialist—the establishment. I thought Trump fans were supposed to bring the establishment crashing down.

This was written by Genndy, they can't fool me.

Dam, I would have felt bad for him if he just wrote a typical conservative book about low taxes and christian values but this guy is literally spouting Sup Forums memes lmao

He wasn't. OP doesn't know the difference between 'fired' and 'under fire'.

that's disturbingly well animated.

>Van den vos Reynaerde (Of Reynaert the Fox) was an anti-Semitic children's story, written by the Dutch-Belgian Robert van Genechten, and named after the medieval Dutch poem. It was first published in 1937 in Nieuw-Nederland, a monthly publication of the Dutch Nazi Party's front, the NSB. In 1941 it was published as a book.
>The story features a rhinoceros called Jodocus, somewhat akin to the Dutch word jood; and a donkey, Boudewijn, who occupies the throne. Boudewijn, as King of "Belgium", was the Dutch name for the contemporary real-world Belgian crown prince. In the story, Jodocus is an outsider who comes to the Empire and subsequently introduces new ideas that drastically alter the natural order. The land is then declared a "Republic", where "liberty, equality and fraternity" are to be exercised. This dystopian view of socialist republics fits the Nazi ideology on equality and liberty as something degenerate: "There was no one who kept to the rules of the race. Rabbits crept into foxholes, the chickens wanted to build an eyrie." Eventually, Reynard and the others trick and kill Jodocus and his colleagues.[8]

From wikipedia

Anyone got a download for Boys Club?

Wow, that's uh, that's pretty on the nose.

Old cartoons have this noticeable archaic element to it.
The film's picture quality and context make it uncanny.
The fluid animation showing the fact that people were dedicated to it doesn't help
The animators actually did a pretty good job making the Jewnoceroses look creepy and uncanny especially at 0:25.
This shit's obscure as fuck
Hell you could trick normalfags into thinking this is a long lost Disney cartoon for the Nazis

The best part is that Alligators are native only in China and the USA

Pan's gonna talk about it now isn't he?

> The land is then declared a "Republic", where "liberty, equality and fraternity" are to be exercised. This dystopian view of socialist republics fits the Nazi ideology on equality and liberty as something degenerate
What.
Ironically, it looks a lot like a soviet cartoon.
The only thing that would immediately give it away would be the lack of cyrillic.

Also, they seem to be chilling at a swamp.
Which happens to be their natural habitat too.
And I know allegory isn't really something you have to look super deep into, but come on.

yeah, let's see it.

>In 1941, Nederland Film was set up in The Hague by a member of the NSB (Dutch National Socialist) party with the aid of the occupying Germans to make animated films with a Nazi point of view. Its most ambitious project was Van den vos Reynaerde (About Reynard the Fox), an outrightly anti-Semitic film, and one of the first animated color films made in Holland. However, Reynard was never shown publicly and in the turmoil of the war was lost; in 1991, a fragment of the film was unearthed in Germany, thus permitting us to get a closer look at this fascinating film.
>About Reynard the Fox was never released, which seems strange after so much money was lavished on its production. Why it was never shown publicly is still a mystery. Perhaps the objection to the fox's character was so great that the Dutch National-Socialist Party and the DVK decided not to screen it. Believing in Reynard's positive characteristics may have been difficult, as foxes have traditionally been stereotyped in animated films as untrustworthy characters. How can the prototype of the "bad guy" suddenly turn into a "hero"?

Found more info on this
awn.com/mag/issue1.7/articles/barten1.7.html
There's a lot more about its production and stuff but I can't post all of it.
This is going to sound stupid but this is kind of shit you'd hear from some dumb creepypasta a kid made.
At first I thought it was an elaborate hoax like Hoverboy (which still fooled people like Alltime10s) but the way the film is animated, I feel 100% guaranteed it's legit.

This is so stupid it reads just like a parody but the main thing I keep thinking is the Pepe creator should sue. This is incredibly blatantly taking someone else's cartoon character with no changes and making and selling a book about him like if some rando made a book called "the adventures of Mickey and Friends" and the main character was just unchanged Mickey Mouse. I'd be pissed.

See >The success of the book in Dutch Nazi circles led to a decision by the Department of People's Information, Service and Arts (DVK), the Dutch version of Joseph Goebbels' Propaganda Ministry, to use it as the basis for the biggest production of the Dutch film industry during the war.
>But there were other reasons. One is that the Germans were not satisfied with most of the animated films made in the Third Reich. The Nazis were charmed by Disney's films and what had been made before the war by the Pal Studio in Eindoven. In the 1930s, the Hungarian emigree George Pal made a series of beautiful puppet films advertising Philips' electronic products. Pal left for the United States shortly before the war, but many of his talented Dutch collaborators remained.
>Nederland Film was created in early 1941, at the behest of the Germans, by Egbert van Putten (1899-1996), a member of the NSB living in Berlin. Van Putten had previously been financially involved in the famous prewar Dutch avant garde Filmliga (Film League) movement. In 1934, he moved to Berlin and worked on a few German movies. In 1938, he distributed the Swedish anti-Semitic movie Petterson und Bendel in Germany. In short, he was a man with important contacts in Germany and within the NSB, which explains how he traveled from Berlin to the Netherlands with letters of reference signed by the German authorities that opened doors in the Netherlands, including the DVK. He concluded a contract for some movies with the DVK and invested his own money and that of the German dancer, Ilse Meudtner, his girl friend and future wife, in the venture.

>How can the prototype of the "bad guy" suddenly turn into a "hero"?
lol, Its like that one sketch with the two nazis, and one of them goes "dude, I think we're the bad guys".

>The moment you realize your magnum opus, the most ambitious animation project in your country is politically incorrect

youtube.com/watch?v=hn1VxaMEjRU

Since the thread was originally about Pepe and Pede, should the Nazi propaganda animation warrant its own thread?
Maybe Sup Forums?

>>The moment you realize your magnum opus, the most ambitious animation project in your country is politically incorrect

Huge difference. They knew it from the start, it was pushed on them by Nazis from another country, and the Dutch animators did it so the Nazis wouldn't send them to Germany to fight.

People make way too big a deal about PC, when really you could chalk it up to "well it was long ago" or "yea but it was the war and all" or "well the dude that made it had a personal beef".
But this, this is more like you declare war on everyone because of your ideology, and then to show how great it is you make a great monument that represents it.
Then you look at it and say "wow, this is wrong".

>Since the thread was originally about Pepe and Pede, should the Nazi propaganda animation warrant its own thread?
>Maybe Sup Forums?

Keep it in Sup Forums where we can actually talk about it without a thousand actual nazis joining the thread.

Sup Forums?

Fuck this gay world

How about /trash/ since it might result in porn of the Jew rhino

This is the story of Sup Forums.
We all think people make too big a deal about PC.
But some people trying to be as un-PC as possible basically became actual Nazis.

Way to go, far right dumbasses. Now you're exactly what the far left claims you are.

ugh. if we have to see porn, can't it be of cute jew girls, not a rhino.

What you don't get is that we are in the middle of cultural war. You can sit on the fence, you can pretend it doesn't concern you. But when your favorite character becomes a cringe soapbox of politics, you have only yourself to blame that you didn't care before

There's no such thing about becoming as un-PC as possible. You can go further.

>we are in the middle of cultural war.

I said my piece. Do whatever you want. But all your fetishes will be viliffied and banned. Enjoy your life.

Parents work in a school district and saw one of their coworkers get fired because his kid got caught smoking pot off campus. Schools are highly political and often form the backbone of smaller communities in Texas. Some "towns" are nothing but a gas station, mcdonalds, and a school. The Schoolboard in those places essentially functions as the city government.

Psst. Tumblr bitching about sexy comic book covers isn't a culture war.

Yeah, and The Shadow, of all characters, talking about white priviledge, is basically going back to the roots of the character, amirite?

Right. The widespread witch hunt over whatever's the current mental gymnastic trend is.

Just another example of spineless school administrators who will find the first excuse to fire any teacher.
I bet the admin gets paid triple what even the longest employed teacher there gets paid and actually thinks he does more work on any given day than the teachers who have to take their work home daily and grade papers for 4-6 hours a day just to keep on top of it.

is this eagleeye or whatever?

this is a cute bait thread. Really clapping for you right now.

8/8 go and teach about that h8.

>But all your fetishes will be viliffied and banned.

Jokes on you faggot, my fetish is pure vanilla sex between a man and a woman who love each other.

Joke's on you, that's slut shaming.

Jokes on you, I could report you to FBI for that fetish, if I was an asshole.

haha jokes on you my fetishes are femdom and pegging
HEIL MATRIARCHY

Oh my god, he said "Heil"!
