Dumbing of Age Nightlies

Due to the unforeseen death of Patreanon #27, we're gonna have to stick with posting the new strips as they arrive for a while.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter because this is still a hack job written by a con artist whose skills are a zero-sum.

Google says "Neder Issar" is a Jewish thing:
>a promise of prohibition or deprivation

Why does he think his Do List was funny? It was a catalog, not a webcomic or whatever. It was intended for him to remember women and whether he wanted to have sex with them or not.

>Your wing can keep Peter
>this guy that has never been seen in Joe's hallway, ever

Ok I get it. I didn't even need to see the strips I missed, I get what Peter's deal is. Scummy as fuck, but hey, apparently it's okay for Mary to be used for her beliefs.

Well Mary is a bad person because of those. Remember that.

Envy and Lust are sins.

Just saying.

Just sitting here

Waiting for porn

Porn of whom, user?

Honestly as soon as we get a Dina and/or Joyce Slipshine I'll have absolutely no reason to stick around anymore.

I think it was because he made it public? Probably got him thinking that he was a blogger of sorts. But it wasn't a blog, it was a private RSS feed. So fuck it.

Do you think Willis is going to recycle Mary getting knocked up? I could honestly see him trying to subvert that expectation by having it only be a scare, but fuck that too. I would rather have an endless number of hinting that Mary had a crush on Carla than this Literally Who.

Also of note: Mary was uncharacteristically happy and joyful, skipping down the halls and making flower crowns, because she was in love. Then, when she's actually WITH Peter, it's nothing but contempt for others. It's a goddamn tonal shift so hard that I think I'm back in high school.

It's not happening any time soon, according to his Tumblr.

That's happening far less soon.

You got a good reference pic for Dina or Joyce you like? I need a warmup sketch.

>I think it was because he made it public?
We still don't even know who leaked it to every girl in the dorm.

>It's a goddamn tonal shift so hard that I think I'm back in high school.
Willis failed out of college, so it makes sense that his sense of people is based on his last time in education, which mostly would be high school.

I wonder how many of the characterization issues could be softened or rectified if Willis chose to drop the college setting and make it a boarding school for teenagers.

That is, I need to do a warmup sketch tonight.

>I would rather have my shitty shipping be canon than actual canon

Jesus christ get laid please

> what if this were like my Japanese cartoons
What if you had to take the virginity of and your own

And in tonight's episode of Random Internet Person Shits Out Better Dialogue in Less than a Minute:

>I thought no one would be offended but I was wrong, so I'm stopping.

Also Willis managed to turn Mary into a total Stacy with her dating Peter.

Let me put it like this, then: I'd rather have the never-to-be-concluded tension of will-they-won't-they over "They won't, and here's a shitty excuse as to why they won't, don't @ me"

It wouldn't solve his characterization issues but it would explain why these people, several of which don't like each other, bother to hang out all the time. You have to remember that most of the cast is only 18, so rolling them back to high school wouldn't do much.

And fuck you, user, now I'm mentally hashing out a high school AU to a college AU of a workplace comedy that was the sequel to a sci-fi dramatic comedy that itself was a sequel to a college melodrama.

I like to think Becky slamming the door to reveal Dina there is a lead-in to a slipshine. Our only hint of what's to come will be when Leslie gets back home and finds the two of them on the couch naked under a blanket.

Like you said, a high school version of DOA wouldn't change much if anything at all. Just set it in a boarding school or some private academy, cut everybody's age by about four years, make everybody a female, and you've got yourself an AU.

I was hoping that somebody would say "Keep it clean", which would segue into the next Slipshine that was teased, but obviously that would have been too easy. It's probably going to end up being Walky and Dorothy fucking for the fourth to eighth time.

It will be dozens of years before Mary needs to have an abortion, anyway.

Willis should drop the college setting and go back the the toy store setting with the characters as adults. He hasn't been to college since thirty years ago (and only spent two years there) and doesn't have enough knowledge of it. He has more knowledge of mundane clerk work. Plus it would allow him to comment on popular trends like he loves. And the passage of time won't seem as weird since it's adults working in a store and not young adults trapped in freshman year.

The second year was literally just him squatting in the dorms with his friends. He failed out pretty much right away.

He is unexperienced with the setting and is also old enough that he doesn't understand what it's like to be a modern student.

Y'know as much as this general tries to push the meme, I NEVER found Mary attractive or appealing in any significant way. She was boring, plain and one dimensional. As both a villain or a misunderstood heroine she didn't have any appeal and she wasn't cute enough to waifu her. However now that she's a lusty, self assured girl who will tongue fuck her holy boyfriend while being super cocky and coy about it...
Well I think I can finally say Mary's getting to me.

Yo, here. I'mma crash now but I'll be back tomorrow night for some sketches. I need lewd practice so you guys get some free shit.

>Pros: The face looks just like Willis-style
>Cons: The face looks just like Willis-style

...

Not dead, just kept getting my threads deleted yesterday.

I'm not sure what my feelings are on "sound effects that are literally saying exactly what the sound is". Like I get that it's sort of tongue in cheek but is that enough to offset how lazy it is?

>Half-bath sink faucet
Why? Why not just use a real sound effect???
The descriptive ones only work when a character's actually doing a humorous action, and even then they're kind of obnoxious.

>Matthew 6:5-6
>And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
>But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

No, Dorothy! Don't attack Amber physically *or* verbally! You're liable to get stabbed.

Anyway, I'd be glad to get some more closure on this, except I don't expect much. I'm guessing Dotty is mad about having to corroborate that self-defense story.

>Half-Bath Sink Faucet

Okay, why? I guess the reader is suppose to imagine what that sounds like themselves? Like Willis is saying "do the job yourself."

The way that last panel is drawn makes Dorothy look like she's missing a tooth.

user should create hardcore DoA porn and distribute it online while crediting it to Willis himself.

It's a cliche at this point unless you play with it some way.

>Do you think Willis is going to recycle Mary getting knocked up?

If he is, with his normal timescale of 1 DoA week = 1 RT year, it might take up to half a decade (or longer) to get to it.

>Mary was uncharacteristically happy and joyful, skipping down the halls and making flower crowns, because she was in love. Then, when she's actually WITH Peter, it's nothing but contempt for others.
Consistency!

You're doing good work, user.

While everyone one is talking about the bizarre onomatopoeia, I'm going to mention that the joke seems a bit off to me.

Dorothy already knew it wasn't Dina in the bathroom, she didn't need to go in, especially if someone was using the bathroom. This might have worked better if the strip had all been on Dorothy's side of the door.

Pick up from the third panel.

Dorothy: "There's no such as a Cromposaurus, Amber."
[no response]
Dorothy: "Amber?"
Amber: "Wait, there's a... no, that's a Compsognathus. Shit."
[beat panel, Dorothy is glaring with irritation at the door]
Amber: "Okay, it's me."

Tbhq peters are always Chad lites.

>it might take up to half a decade (or longer) to get to it.

Using the real world average for a woman's cycle, it could up to four years before Mary misses her period.

Y'know, other than "Because I did it in Roomies", I really can't see why Willis thought to set the story at a college. He could have taken the Questionable Content route and made everybody work at some random coffee shop downtown.

Now, imagine this, but her boyfriend is a six-foot-tall redhead pretending to be a girl.

>user should create hardcore DoA porn and distribute it online while crediting it to Willis himself.
It wouldn't be impossible to do. You just have to lose any grasp you had on human anatomy and make sure that all orgasms are literally painful for both participants.

I figured that. Assuming she just had her period, 4 years, plus 1 or 2 DoA weeks to get worried and anxious before the coin drops. If she had it earlier, than we might be able to cut that down by a couple years. Of course, this is all assuming that she and Peter are already having sex and not just sloppily making out.

>Peter

Did

Did we just get cucked??????????

...

I think the worst part of Mary gets pregnant redux storyline would be that he wouldn't actually take it in an interesting direction.

Have Mary turn to Roz for help getting an abortion, let Mary and the readers expect Roz to get smug about it only to have Roz treat Mary with compassion and tact. Have Roz reveal that she had an abortion in high school. The reason why Roz hates Robin so much can be that Robin helped Roz get an abortion then immediately turned around and voted to cut access to abortions, and Roz now despises Robin for her hypocrisy.

Have it turn out to be a false positive, but by the time she realizes that Peter and the people at her church have abandoned her and are talking about her behind her back. Use that to give her a moment of empathy with Becky.

Bring it up then quit mentioning it, and make everyone think it's a dropped plotline, then reveal that Mary quietly got an abortion without telling anyone she was pregnant; eventually she breaks down a bit from the guilt.

That would work. The only problem is that it puts too much focus on Mary as a main character. She's well involved in the stories you've described here.
Willis only uses her as background noise or an easy antagonist. Hell, now that she has a boyfriend and what was left of her personality seems to have completely dissipated, we can expect to rarely if ever see her again, at least in a prominent role.

The first one can be segued into being about Roz and her relationship with Robin and the second one is just a short plot.

What argument does Willis use to draw porn while calling out people in his comics for thinking of woman as objects?

Apparently Dina and Amber both sound the same? Or is Willis such an antisocial recluse he's forgotten that people have distinct voices?

I suppose the simplest answer, from his perspective, is that he does it "right". I recall it being ladden with guys asking consent. And maybe he assumes he's showing passion rather than lust, explaining the demented faces.

Alternatively, he's purposefully making it awful because somehow that equates to progressiveness or something.

I think he claimed that he does women-driven porn, where it focuses more on female pleasure rather than male? Or something like that. I'm sure he wrote it down somewhere.

So... like 99% of every other porno out there?

"Pornlord", what a fucking joke.

>for women
>'does it right'
>focuses on female pleasure
I really should have screengrabbed and made a macro of the half-dozen various horrified responses from women and lesbians about the clit-biting scene in '88 miles' and then couple it with the indignant comment(s) Willis made about it.

I think the implication is supposed to be that Dorothy knew it was Amber from the outset or that Amber was trying to mimic Dina's voice.

Don't forget to include the Walky/Dorothy yoga cock torture pinup.

Yeah, but what about exploiting Joyce and Dorothy for no reason other than humor?

He'll probably say his wife said it was okay, by which he means his wife has always been okay with him doing porn of the characters and doesn't really have an opinion about it.

>mfw "It'd be wrong to make porn of characters who would not consent to it were they given the choice"
>mfw the Joyce/Dorothy pinup

Just because we didn't see Joyce's sweet pink nips doesn't mean it didn't fuck his own words over.

Well you see, those were alternate *alternate* Dorothy and Joyce who are into each other. Unlike every other piece of porn that someone has made, which are all not alternate at all. They're "canon" and "binding" and *must* respect canon orientation or else they are insulting perversions and erasures of characters' identities.

necrobumper

Willis wouldn't make porn of underage fictional characters, even if they don't look any different in high school. He said as much back when someone requested a Slipshine of Danny losing his virginity to Dorothy.

That's understandable given the issues that would surround making it.

Is there a Joyce drawing or edit, where's she's falling into a trash can, like that one Homer Simpson scene?

67
>I can't even tell who that is
oops

Can't even reply properly, either

It's enough of a grey area that avoiding the issue by not doing it is probably wise

And with how much money his Slipshine stuff is making, he'd be stupid to put them in an underage setting.

Doesn't make the college idea any good, but whatever.
