Let's talk about whoever is moderating this board.
>deletes requests from drawfag threads if he personally doesn't like them, even if they're legit requests >hands out 3 day bans for pretty much anything, the reason given often fails to coincide with the actual board rule >threads discussing a show but become too "politicized" are deleted, everyone is banned even though the discussion (and thread) is on-topic >"cheesecake threads," i.e. pictures of half-naked or outright nude male comic characters, will hit 500 replies >a thread asking about a superheroine's titties without NSFW content meanwhile is deleted immediately (and of course you get a ban) >if you go on /qa/ to complain about him he will find posts your IP made her and ban you, even going so far back as a few days to find a reason >the sort of posts you can make on any other board, from /ck/ to /fa/ to /biz/, will probably get you banned here
This board has issues, but the terrible mod is probably the biggest one, the only worse mod I know of is on /aco/ (and it's probably the same guy.) What grievances do you have with the board?
Jace Brown
>inb4 deletion Wow are you even trying?
Michael Butler
Sup Forums mods have always been fags. No surprises there.
Nicholas Martin
I think this board would be better off if OP were banned.
Asher King
>the sort of posts you can make on any other board, from /ck/ to /fa/ to /biz/, will probably get you banned here As someone who frequents other boards, I can say that the majority of boards actually allow these kinds of threads, with mods even curtailing blatant shitposting within them, and it's only on a handful of boards that include Sup Forums where these threads are either slid or deleted.
Dylan Sanders
move cartoons to Sup Forums already
Lucas Peterson
I think the worst it's personally ever been for me is when I responded to a post that was deleted by mods, but at the time did not see they were deleted because I both use 4ChanX and had not refreshed the thread to its most updated status, and got banned for a day for being off-topic.
Oliver Watson
I unironically agree with OP but this please no
Andrew Sanders
>proving the OP correct
Every board is allowed one of these threads as per Hiro himself. Then again this is Sup Forums, at least half of this board browses another certain authoritarian shithole that stifles discussion.
Julian Mitchell
nice try mod, keep being a gigantic faggot
Kayden Powell
Is it true that some webcomic (sins something) gets deleted and the OP banned constantly?
Levi Watson
>browsing some other board >error: you are banned >click on the reason why >it was for a reply on a Sup Forums thread I made five days prior >seven day ban from all boards >it was about a comic so obscure it was deemed off topic
Daniel Gray
>the only worse mod I know of is on /aco/ I've gotten tired of that place when I found out that they were some silent rule about all the porn being women-only. If you wanted to have something like Nightwing porn, they'd tell you to get fucking lost to /y/ or /hm/.
I remember one of the Villainous threads there where people blew the fuck up because it wasn't purely Dementia and that Flug/Black Hat stuff should be banned from there.
Isaiah Campbell
I've only ever gotten a 3-day for going insanely Sup Forums in some instances. And I and many others have done it many times since.
Some days I'm sure it's less annoying to see people REEing about stupid shit. If it's a slow day and there are three threads popping off, one of which is Sup Forums twinged, you'll probably see more banning.
The falseflagging, shit posting, and baiting specifically about Sup Forums topics since ANAD Marvel has been insufferable. ON MANY SIDES (i had to).
If people were allowed to be pissed about a race-swap without some smarmy faggot, coming to the one site on the internet where it's okay to voice that opinion, telling them they're racists. Or making a drumpfkins joke or something.
Nicholas Bennett
Out of all the boards I have visited, Sup Forums has the worst mods that delete anything they don't like regardless if it's breaking rules or not. Can someone tell me how this came to be?
Carson Robinson
>Talks about a cartoon reviewer >Gets banned
To be fair people on all threads are sick of e-celeb threads. Sup Forums needs a e-celeb or YouTube board.
Adam Jones
>some silent rule This is a huge fucking problem with this board and a handful of others, why the fuck doesn't Sup Forums have a dedicated sticky explaining board-specific rules like most boards do?
James Diaz
They suck a mean cock.
Isaiah Hall
>threads discussing a show but become too "politicized" are deleted, everyone is banned even though the discussion (and thread) is on-topic Nothing wrong with this, because they definitely do get way off-topic. Frankly, they don't get banned soon enough. They easily reach a few hundred replies.
What needs to happen: >remove everything live-action because it's completely senseless to keep it here >allow /mlp/ content here because it's a fucking cartoon and this is a cartoon board >normalize the rules for generals
Liam Nelson
Not an active browser of Sup Forums admittedly So can some Sup Forums anons provide some examples or screenshots of this happening?
Jack Allen
>Sup Forums needs a e-celeb or YouTube board.
No it doesn't, go to fucking twitter instead if you want that.
Elijah Gray
>I've only ever gotten a 3-day for going insanely Sup Forums in some instances. It's only really a problem when they ban you for Sup Forums discussion in threads that can't HELP but be Sup Forums related.
Such as talking about the actual stigma of "girl cartoons" in the industry and how many networks don't like them is viewed as "REEEE /pol" and might get you banned. But other times, it might hit 500 replies no problem. You also can't post political comics about modern day issues otherwise it's a possible deleted thread/ban.
It's very random to what seems like mods either trying to prevent a shitstorm before it happens or otherwise just not caring and taking the day off.
Adrian Ortiz
I only hear the complaining on Sup Forums and that's literally the single worst board on the site. I think they're cancer is a defense mechanism to shoo away normies since they have the most normalfag board topic.
Jose Martin
>normalize the rules for generals FUCKING THIS. Shit's extremely inconsistent, either get rid of them or allow them, God damn.
Justin Barnes
Sup Forums is out in full force openly making as many threads on this board unusable today. Do something about it.
Angel Gray
this
we need to filter racist, sexist bigot and problematic and all variants thereof
Chase King
Sup Forums has the site's biggest reservoir of tumblr alongside /cgl/, thus the only people who would ever apply to mod here have similar sensibilities. Granted the /cgl/ mod is a horrible psycho bitch as well, but that board is so slow that no one ever brings it up or cares.
I got this just now. You don't see these bans on any other board.
Ryder Ross
>e-celeb or YouTube board You're supposed to ban cancer outright, not give it a place to fester.
John Young
>I think they're cancer is a defense mechanism to shoo away normies since they have the most normalfag board topic. Okay that's funny
Bentley Turner
Why is everyone being such babies all in a sudden?
Jaxon Phillips
E-celeb threads are always off topic, no matter who, wheere out what. >Someone makes a political message in their show or comic >Apparently talking about that issue is off topic Wew lad >remove everything live-action because it's completely senseless to keep it here Good idea >allow /mlp/ content here because it's a fucking cartoon and this is a cartoon board Kill yourself, cartoons air on TV but we don't go to Sup Forums. Comics are books but we're not on /lit/. Anime is just japanese cartoons but they aren't allowed here. Things have their own place for a reason even if they're connected >normalize the rules for generals Just copy Sup Forums's rules for generals Checked, but Sup Forums doesn't come here, you're just a retard who thinks anything right wing is Sup Forums bait.
Owen Anderson
While I agree my point wasn't just filters on shit I feel is bait. There are people who I likely agree with in some instance that go just as overboard because "KEK its Sup Forums!"
Coming in to say "REEEE THOSE GODDAMN NIGGASRZ" is just as bad as "REEEE THE GOD DAMN RACIST DRUMPFKINS. And mainly because the people posting shit like that are falseflagging for the newfags who came here to REE about everything.
Oliver Allen
BAN THESE FUCKING THREADS
Luke Walker
A few months ago I got banned on all boards for a day for posting in a Sup Forums "thread thread", which was promptly deleted afterwards.
People have been complaining about Sup Forums's moderation for over 3 years now m8.
Nathan Hernandez
Satan demonstrates another serious problem on the board: any opinion someone doesn't like is deemed Sup Forums. Then that poster ends up complaining about Sup Forums and spamming the thread with it until the offending posts are deleted or the entire thread is gone. There's a reason this place is called tumblr so often.
There's also posters like who sound like they're quietly trying to make the entire board unironically adopt a non-written list of rules like the kind you'd find on some other internet board. The mods are issuing a lot of stupid bans and do their job badly? Works fine on my machine, maybe you should just have the right opinions!
Alexander Hall
They were asleep during that Thread where OP wanted a Star Picture
Evan Allen
Sup Forumsmblr has always had SJW mods and shit likehas always happened It is why Sup Forumsmblr is one of the slowest boards because people don't want a global ban for not 100% toeing the SJW line
Anthony Price
Mods also delete still-active threads (they don't move to the archive), apparently because they don't like them. Mods are fags.
John Campbell
Why? If Marvel is injecting retarded shit into their comic you should be allowed to discuss it, it's a comic book. Threads like that constantly popping up aren't a symptom of a "Sup Forums invasion," it's a symptom of comic book creators putting stupid Sup Forums bait shit in so much of their work. Ironically proving Sup Forums right.
Justin Mitchell
It's not sudden. This has been bubbling for a while. Threads almost exactly like this one have been popping up since meta-threads were cleared because Sup Forums is very divided. While it does foster community to keep people from talking about divisive shit there comes a point where a middle ground needs to be found between "Sup Forumsmblr" and the "Sup Forums IS FOR MUH FREEDOM" people. This is not the place to go to softly discuss the fun and joy of comics and sometimes be sad the the stories are problematic. The rest of the internet exists for that. But this doesn't need to be "I hate black people so these comics suck."
Jack Jones
>>normalize the rules for generals I'd prefer it if we had a separate board for Sup Forums generals just because generals end up being cancer. I know the dozen R&M threads are irritating to see when the show is airing, but I'd prefer that to what happened to GF and SU which is to have all non-general threads deleted in order to "keep it to the general" where there was no actual discussion and just waifufagging or meme posting.
I'd like to see some consistency when it comes to animated products with talking animals in them. I think it's ridiculous that some Zootopia threads get deleted because they count as "furry" when it's the most Sup Forums thing in the world down to being made by fucking Disney.
Wyatt White
Go back to Tumblr. >Ban comic threads Sounds like a plan m8
Bentley Robinson
>allowed to discuss it,
Where is the discussion?
Ayden Cooper
The 500 replies I'm sure that thread will get, faster than any other thread on the board, just like every other thread like it. And if that many people have a heated discussion in that thread then maybe it deserves to stay up.
William Brooks
Fucking faggot.
Caleb Carter
>reading comprehension
Jack Clark
Not like you need to give the mod an excuse, Hiro himself could post "this is okay" and the thread would still be deleted. The only reason it's not is because the fat ass hasn't woken up to delete it yet.
Carter Johnson
I usually get banned for posting my right wing opinions while liberal posts are tolerated. The moment you don't kowtow to their molochs a ban is issued, usually under the "off topic" umbrella. This is a clear double standard.
Above all Sup Forums's moderation is far too severe in general with the "off topic" thing. It's like the mod doesn't understand that a community is an organic entity, and that a thread about say Raven or Star Butterfly can very easily go into metaphysical speculation and conspiracy theories, or that a thread about a current development in Sup Forums media will INEVITABLY steer into Sup Forums territory, or that a thread about villains can go into say martial arts or history etc.
Anything is possible. This was how Sup Forums and the rest of the site operated in the glory days. Unless you're posting porn or something illegal moderation should be kept to a minimum. Currently the moderation is absolutely antagonistic to the board, its users and just plain old fun.
Andrew Watson
Explain this then
Dominic Thomas
Hey mods please make sure all the Sup Forums kiddies and Sup Forumsedditors stay in their concentration camps.
Nathaniel Cook
He's busy fellating his hotpocket and pretending it's his father.
Anthony Fisher
I do agree with this. Having black Iron Maiden is very obviously a PR stunt. To point it out doesn't make you Sup Forums. It's not the same as saying, "Nignogs shouldn't be allowed to write comics", it's saying, "Fuck this company for using race as a means to sell comics". It's practically anti-Sup Forums.
Jose Hall
>Sup Forums >One of the slowest boards
By what metric? It's at least in the top 10 fastest and can't even hold a candle to shit like /po/ in slowness.
Robert Scott
I want all threads that start with "What did they mean by this?" and "Now that the dust has settled" to be banned
Kayden Allen
Same, also >what's his/her problem >who was in the wrong here
Nicholas Powell
>It is why Sup Forumsmblr is one of the slowest boards
>there are board with threads that are 2+years old
really activates those almonds..
Colton Mitchell
That's called brigading, user.
Owen Jones
>>Someone makes a political message in their show or comic >>Apparently talking about that issue is off topic Yes it is. Just because a gun appears in a cartoon, doesn't mean you can screenshot it, post it as OP and then have a thread about IRL guns.
>Kill yourself, cartoons air on TV but we don't go to Sup Forums. Comics are books but we're not on /lit/. So overlap is allowed with those boards, but for no reason it's not allowed for /mlp/? Nice logic there. And don't kid yourself, people crossboard.
Brayden Scott
Why are you complaining about co's moderation and not all other boards? Everyone complains
Henry Robinson
I accidentally posted a large beefy man riding a literal bear into battle but I forgot his weiner was hanging out and no one banned me
Thomas Williams
A few days ago I watched a blossoming Dr. Pig thread get deleted halfway through the story.
Austin Perez
>"Now that the dust has settled" I love and I loathe that kind od OP, like reading a comic penned by Alan Moore, but drawn by Liefeld.
Joseph Sullivan
>Just because a gun appears in a cartoon, doesn't mean you can screenshot it, post it as OP and then have a thread about IRL guns.
Guess we need to ban all Punisher threads
Elijah Kelly
I second this.
Joseph Perez
i'm not really. i've mostly defended it itt. that was a clarification for user.
Ryan Brooks
Well yeah, the Sup Forums mod is gay as fuck. You will get banned for a scantily-clad (but not nude) female yet literal gay porn spam stays up. I remember posting a stock image of a little girl licking an ice cream cone and was banned immediately for "violating U.S. law."
Cameron Rodriguez
Learn how to spoof your mac address and bans will never bother you again. I agree the mod is a complete faggot. You call someone a whore and you get banned. Where do they think they are moderating?
Andrew Cook
/trash/ is for cartoons now
Xavier Carter
At least we can appreciate the fact that Redwood is no longer a moderator. You gotta think in positives user.
Nolan Nguyen
Really fucked that up.
Brandon Ross
>Just because a gun appears in a cartoon, doesn't mean you can screenshot it, post it as OP and then have a thread about IRL guns. If you phrase it within the relevance of the screenshot, you can. For example, the character has a gun, you make a thread, "How the hell did this character get away with this? Aren't there laws that would've prevented him from just easily being able to do this shit?", and it could still remain relevant to whatever the gun was present in, whether it's sloppy writing or believable.
Much like it's possible to talk about punching nazis propaganda and still have it be Sup Forums-related if you present it correctly since Sup Forums works have touched a lot on that subject.
Isaiah Russell
There was a robot jones thread and three(3) pictures of robot jones taking a dick up his robot ass and mouth stayed up for over an hour.
Gavin Gutierrez
Probably a bad example, not because it's wrong but because at least 50% of Sup Forums will support assaulting someone for exercising their right to free speech because "well he's a nazi, and nazis aren't people."
Angel Robinson
>waifu thread >people just start talking about their Sup Forums and Sup Forums waifus >some harem charts don't contain any Sup Forums characters at all
Lincoln Bell
What was the post that got you banned?
Eli Collins
do these retards not realize the day one person loses the right to free speech everyone does
Hudson Gutierrez
That's just Sup Forums being Sup Forums. Most threads that have a lot of replies and aren't image dumps, more than 50% of it is going to be trash. But it's that small percentage of actually interesting discussion that keeps some people coming to this place over somewhere like Tumblr which isn't designed for discussion, Reddit which have ten times more rules than Sup Forums and often leads to circlejerking, or ToonZone whose discussion moves at the speed of a sleeping sloth.
Xavier Jones
Made a request in a drawfag thread.
Adam Brooks
What you're referring to sounds like a relevant discussion. The Sup Forums bait threads just blatantly talk about real life politics with no regard to the original topic.
Adrian Nguyen
>posting another user's word and not the source not saying true or false but, dude
Blake Richardson
>What grievances do you have with the board? shouldn't allow generals, like literally every other boards. It creates a sentiment of exception that makes tumblrites power trip hard all over the place. Moderate this place like Sup Forums. chain ban the vermin that actually literally believe to be in charge of fandoms, and it's gonna be readable again in a few weeks
Charles Collins
And yet /trash/ exists.
Dominic Young
softcore porn images need to be deleted and banned on sight
you faggots literally had a board made for you for this kind of shit, keep it there
Nathan Baker
Remember that time Steven Universe had 20 threads up at the same time?
Isaiah Turner
Dumbing of Age threads tend to be heavily monitored. The moment discussion moves away from directly what's going on in the comic, posts start getting deleted or the thread is outright pruned. Discussing the author's Twitter or his fans' comments and reactions are usually subject to bans; posting pics of comments/Twitter will often result in a general purge. And even though the comic is highly Social Justice-oriented, any political discussion is culled as "off-topic".
Honestly feel like it's being policed by a social justice whackjob triggered by criticism of an overly-PC comic.
Carter Lee
This. The mod(s) in charge of Sup Forums deleted my thread about adult jokes animators sneak into cartoons and I'm still salty about it.
Parker Roberts
>Just because a gun appears in a cartoon, doesn't mean you can screenshot it, post it as OP and then have a thread about IRL guns. False equivalency, there is a difference between having a gun in a panel and doing an entire comic where the core theme is gun rights or gun control, or having the character say something about the gun and having people comment on whether or not what they said was true. I don't know what to say if you're too stupid to see the difference. >So overlap is allowed with those boards, but for no reason it's not allowed for /mlp/? Nice logic there. And don't kid yourself, people crossboard Overlap is very minimal because the lines have been defined clearly. The reason /mlp/ is not allowed is, besides the very clear global rule, is that the line was defined perfectly clearly between the /mlp/ board and the Sup Forums board. While MLP is a cartoon, it has it's own board where discussion of it is the topic, because that line has been drawn, there is a board for that, and a board for cartoons that are NOT MLP. In the same sense, though comics are a form of literature, there is a clearly defined board for comics where discussion is on topic and thus, discussion of them on /lit/ is considered to be off topic unless some specific circumstance connects the two.
Also there is a global rule because bronies create pony versions of everything that by your general perception of "on topic" allows them to post ponies almost anywhere as long as they've adapted the form, it was an annoyance to everyone and they were given their own board to talk about their show, to allow them to continue to post outside of it about ponies would be pointless, stupid and annoying.
Aaron Davis
I can't imagine why discussion about a cartoon artist having extreme lefty views would somehow veer into extreme lefty views being not so great.
Camden Jones
The worst part of Sup Forums is getting banned while doing storytimes. Cause, oh no, there's a nipple in a single panel! Made me give up storytiming
Thomas Sanchez
>this is ----- say something nice about her!!
Grayson Smith
What thread? what happened to Pig??
Colton Bailey
Let's talk about the real problem. The deleted Maggie threads.
Julian Martin
In all honesty, I completely agree.I just want to talk comics. I don't need faggots who can't draw posting undie pics of cartoons I don't care about.
I don't even care about the fact, but the board literally isn't NSFW because of that shit
>I don't know what to say if you're too stupid to see the difference. The difference is very clear but neither are an actual discussion about comics or cartoons and thus the analogy stands.
Ryan Campbell
>The reason my political garbage was deleted was because of tumblr :( No, it was because you're thread sucked ass. That said, both Cheesecake and Beefcake threads should be allowed and the mod has acted like a faggot many times and needs to be replaced.
Jonathan Moore
What happened to the aged up in canon thread? I was in it and then it just got deleted, it seemed fine and no one was being retarded about it.
