Fuck you it was good and the current regime would screw it up

Sword in the Stone, squirrel end

explain to me what the Horned King actually did in the movie, he did almost nothing.

>Disney movies that ACTUALLY NEED a live action adaptation with minorities.

i had a crush on the girl. can't remember a thing about the movie other than it spooked me a little

aren't the working on live action adaptations of the books?

They probably wouldn't hamfist in minorities. Frozen and Brave didn't have any so they seem pretty good about that.

>Sword in the Stone, squirrel end

Nice.

song of the south

A bit more than what Sauron did in three movies.

...

The only thing I didn't really like was Gurgi. Otherwise it just did poorly because it was more grown-up. Sure, it had some plot issues, but I found it entertaining. Disney's dark age isn't nearly as bad as people like to put on. Great Mouse Detective and Oliver and Company are two of my favorite Disney films. Shame that Black Cauldron sort of ruined the chance of Disney going a bit darker ever again.

That'sss... actually kind of a good idea. Sword in the Stone doesn't get the credit it deserves.

>watch that with family last week
>grandpa asks why Merlin didn't turn the squirrel to human

For reference.

God I hope so. The chronicles of Prydain where my jam.

I would watch it JUST for a creepy CGI Horned King. That would easily make up for the irritating CGI Gurgi.

>make a movie based on a book series
>base it on the second book
>using a sub-villain that only appeared in the first
>clumsily cram the two together
Also, personal opinion, but Taran Wanderer was the best book. This is one of the few series where the annoying little shit character actually grew into a mature and reasonable adult.

Agreed, that was the best one.

Maybe not need, but deserves.

It would be nice if Gurgi wasn't a horrible little moppet but actually more towards his canon appearance. Which was more of a furry, cuter Gollum.

if you want King arthur falling in love with a ginger just read F/SN

Gurgi had a magic wallet with an infinite supply of food.

He could literally make spaghetti fall out of his pocket.

This, but don't half-ass the darkness. Make it like the live musical: the talking gargoyles are figments of Quasimodo's imagination, and Esmeralda dies.

I'd say Pocahontas purely for a better story and characters, but its production would be a sociopolitical nightmare from start to finish.

...

It was already perfect though

I'd like to see more films like Saludos los Amigos, only set in other world regions. I hear that movie did a lot to change how American think of South America, and it'd be nice if they could do it for Africa or maybe even the Middle East.

It always throws me for a loop just how old some of these are and how good they still look.

Imo, a lot of the oldest stuff looks better than a lot of what we get today because of the more 'handcrafting' process that went into it.

Song of the South.

I don't want a live action remake of this.
I want an animated remake done in the style of the 2011 movie.

>grimy 80s fantasy
>needs a 2010s bright CGI-laden remake

No, it needs to be remade in Laika-quality stop motion because stop motion rules.

Then why did it fail?

Because audiences have shit taste.

Evidence : the people who made the Emoji Movie weren't thrown to a pack of starving wolves and it's making tons of money

I mean..it's made for fucking kids. A lot of them don't exactly have great taste, in case you haven't noticed.

Dark Cauldron did poorly because it is extremely flawed, not because it was "grown-up".
>Annoying henchman contrasts dark tone
>Fairies are added then dropped
>Plot and pacing inconsistent
The only redeeming part of that movie was the Horned King. Other dark family 80's movies like Secret of NIMH and the Dark Crystal did fine.

...

Black Cauldron needs to be put in Kingdom Hearts

Niether was live-action, and Brave was shit regardless.

It was good, but production was a nightmare and the film suffered major cuts which show in the rushed climax. I've never read the books it was inspired by, but supposedly Disney did what Disney does best and bastardized it, so what would be so bad about a new faithful adaptation?

Owned.

Gramps knows what's up

He wants a good end for King Arthur, not some overrated Nip Bastardization of it.

>It always throws me for a loop just how old some of these are and how good they still look.
Because good artists cost the same in any era. And good art doesn't age at all. Art styles might change, but new art still costs the same to make now as old art.

The only thing that changed is the cost of replicating art is now cheap. While back in the day you had to hire someone to redraw it.

Hail, Brother!

The Lion King

but make it live action.

Unreleased cut with partial Eilonwy nudity when?

...

Can't unsee it

Not even the best porn of her I've seen desu

I want a Chronicles of Prydain movie NOT made by Disney

>Because good artists cost the same in any era. And good art doesn't age at all. Art styles might change, but new art still costs the same to make now as old art.
If this is true, why is hand-drawn studio animation dead in North America?

Why would there be minorities in Celtic Britain m8

>If this is true, why is hand-drawn studio animation dead in North America?
Because cheap CGI is bad art.

Expensive CGI is good art. Cheap CGI is bad art so it is cheaper than good hand drawn artists.

A..Are the mods asleep?

Fuck no, no more live action disney remakes. They spit upon the legacy and foundation that made Disney what it is.

Kids can't buy their own movie tickets. If their parents didn't take them to shitty movies those movies wouldn't do well.

>Norasuko

I would say Aristocats could use a remake. It's such a boring movie. Like make Duchess' owner a young rich woman. Make the butler actually competent and get rid of Duchess' uninteresting kittens who no one remembers or cares about.
