Did he ever technically stop serving the military?
Who, Donald or Popeye? In Donald's case he probably left becuase he had to raise three orphaned nephews and didn't want to have to leave them with a Nanny all the time.
...
I was talking about Popeye.
He's always consistently been a sailor, which leads one to wonder how he can get up to so many hijinks.
Was Popeye a mlitary sailor or just a normal sailor?
He could just be an ordinary sailor; ie someone who works on a ship.

He was also a Rear Admiral and a member of the air force (a tail gunner, of course.)
Interesting story with Cap.
In Gruenwald's run, Steve gets a million dollar check from the government, because though he was declared MIA in 1946 he was never declared dead for propaganda reasons, and was owed decades of back pay.
When a government auditor finds this out and brings it to the attention of the council on superhuman affairs, they track down Steve and tell him that since he wasn't in service to the government during all that time, he'll have to "make it up to the American people" by becoming a government operator. Steve doesn't want to answer to a government agency and feels he better serves the people by working directly with them, so he resigns from the military and is forced to forfeit the Captain America name, costume and shield because they're copyright of the US military.

wasn't that what led to his tenure as USAgent?
that is some terrible trigger discipline for a four star general
still one of the best things this site has drawn, need a pic of them beating up Hitler or meeting Captain America or something
...
Clearly Ross is an armchair general who sucked a lot of dick to get to his position. I mean he clearly has no concept of tactics.
>let's continually pursue and antagonize this guy who only wants to be left alone and provoking him turns him into an invincible monster and use the same damn weapons that have failed to kill him a million times before, all while holding these battles in high population centers on US soil!
...
Far more obligatory:

Popeye was civillian, merchant marine, navy, coast guard, and also a privateer. He also was in the army and possibly in the marines at one point.
Pic also vaguely related. It's olive Oyl and Alice the Goon in the Army.
If it floated he served on it.
...
>ex Navy SEAL
Didn't pickles serve in the Pacific, though?
...
...
He was just called the Captain. The guy who would become USAgent, Super-Patriot, temporarily became Captain America.
>captain
>wants to burn down the ship
crunch was trying to desert the battle
>just joining the squadron already makes you an Ace
Damn.
...
for real?
I really want that shoulder patch
i don't get it.
>rolling your sleeves in dress whites
The nearest Chief would literally murder you.
...
Sylvester the Cat served in the USAF, USN, and Italian Navy.
...
does being a spy count?
...
Didn't notice he was already posted
>for shooting down the enemy, and all that kind of jazz, the iron cross!
Read the Flintstones comic (search Sup Forums archives)
>Tfw not part of the vulture squadron
Its from the recent flintstones comic.
It was really fucking good.
Wasn't he in the Navy though?
How are they gonna work her backstory next reboot. They let gays in the military now.
They participated in a genocide.
GET THAT PIGEON!
>60+ posts
>no Seymour Skinner
His 'Nam PTSD was one of the highlights of the early seasons
Does imaginary service count?
Felix flew combat missions for the Navy too
I much prefer cap to still be an active member of the military myself.
On the other hand that sounds like an interesting plot.
...
As do I. I would get a purple bomber jacket just for that patch
Medical condition of popeye arms sir.
>didn't read Flintstones
You need to remedy that as soon as possible.
You say that like the Navy isn't a branch of the US military.
...
Hey, thanks Mr. Gazoo!
Hey thanks mr gazzoo
She was an Imperial stormtrooper.
Fred, you're a caveman,
You didn't commit genocide,
You invented it! be a little more proud!
lol, good luck on beating popeye.
Might as well change regulations so that rolling them up is the norm.
...
Get outta here, Gazoo.
If it was imaginary, then who shot down the Red Baron?
This implies that fucking pigeon was working for the Axis ...
Fucking love this, isn't there an Aces High tribute poster like this too?
youtube.com
>Fred is clearly Homo-Sapien or Homo-Neanderthal
I doubt it. Humanity probably had already genocided more than a few of it's own by that point.
Every time I see this or an edit I tell myself to get to reading it but I forget the name. Is it part of punisher MAX?
lol wut
This isn't even a joke: the real United States Marine Corps officially registered Bugs Bunny as a Marine in 1943 and regularly "promoted" him, until he was given an Honorable Discharge at the end of World War 2 with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Arthur Roy Brown. The Red Baron always shot the shit out of Snoopy, remember?
well yeah that does count even if it was a special
>Not the "derriere force"
APPLY YOURSELF
Thank, mistah Gazoo
His neckerchief's all fucked up too
Okay so
>Navy
Popeye
Donald
so on so forth fuck I can't think
Anyone ever actually do airforce?
...
The Shadow was a WWI pilot
Not even a conscript but somebody who volunteered just because she hated Rebels.
This thread had me thinking, what if there was a Advanced Wars game but centered around Sup Forums characters?
Which characters would you guys wanna see? What would be their CO Power(s)? Strengths? Weaknesses?
Holy shit what's a champ
