A magical being walks up to you and says you can have your dream Sup Forums project be made BUT the fanbase will be five times more autistic than Steven Universe's.

Would you do it?

Yes. It would be worth it to bring a masterpiece into the world.

Run, you know it's going to be monkey's paw bullshit

This was my initial reaction to the question, but then I thought: FIVE TIMES more autistic? That might cause some sort of mental health epidemic.

Is the fanbase necessarily the same size as SU's?

>Is the fanbase necessarily the same size as SU's?
Yes, the same size during SU's apex of popularity.

It could be hilarious seeing all the retarded little shits kill each other over petty things. But on other hand, I don't think I want to have my master piece savior of western animation associated with those little pricks.

I say no.

No, i'm work in my own way and don't be a nigger

My dream project is a 4 part crossover comic between My Little Pony and Sonic the Hedgehog once the latter comes to IDW working with Flynn and Yardley

So, I am fairly certain BOTH those fanbases are already five times worse than SU's.

>attempting to kill 5 times more people
fuck no, i'll work for it, thanks

Please, knowing you, it's just more fetish garbage.

I would destroy it

Only ifi could get a movie adaptation of The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck. With full budget, and in the original style, don't matter if they had to make a trilogy.

if you mean "horrible fanbase" then no, i couldn't deal with it
if you mean literally a fanbase consisting of autistic people i wouldn't mind too terribly as i'm autistic as well and there's nothing inherently wrong with that

Yes, but I want a cut of all toy and merch sales. Autists eat that stuff up. I'll be rich!

Yes, I think my fanbase would be highly autistic anyway

I have a will of steel. Bring it on.

I would probably say no because I can't imagine how a fanbase could be worse than Steven Universe's. I guess the Voltron one where some retards I think blackmailed the studio until they made a ship canon. I feel like something worse than that is me getting shot or having some strange cult based around it that kidnaps people.

There's an entire board dedicated to a Sup Forums fandom worse than SU's.

/mlp/ is nowhere near SU fanbase level's of bad

It was pretty awful during MLP's height of popularity.

well, since it would have huge tits, it WOULD have an autistic fanbase attached who would make pics of her flat as a board

So in return I just need to never look at Sup Forums again? I can live with that.

Yeah but they never drove anyone to attempt suicide over fanart.

>Zone's prank flash of MLP porn

I mean he didn't attempt to kill himself, but the backlash was just as bad.

I'm not defending it, but at least I haven't heard of them trying to push someone into attempting suicide.

>/mlp/ is now trying to brainwash Sup Forums that they're friends and can be let back in

Who said that my project was the masterpiece? The internet autismo is the masterpiece.

If I was the creator an owner of that project then hell yeah. I would also be incredibly recluse, and would never go to cons or interact with them on Twitter. I also would shut down any movie or merchandising offers so that the only product would be the comic itself.

They did try, though. They sent a lot of death threats to Amy Keating Rogers, one of the writers of the show.

Yes, with merchandizing alone I could rule the world

The fanbase couldn't possibly be any worse than the one to this. I'm sure the week or so where the fanbase is actually good before it all turns to shit would be one of the comfiest things a man could enjoy and fondly look back upon

Assuming the genie is upfront about how he will dick me over I would just include a shit ton of minor details for them to catalogue.

A work having a shitty fan base doesn't stop me from enjoying it and I can still talk about it one on one to people who know me.

What decides the fan base? If I so much as like the cartoon, do I turn into a raging autist?

He says, surfing Sup Forums.

death threats to a writer are sadly nothing new. i mean evangelion fans did the same thing to gainax once the end of the series hit, and some of those were features in end of evangelion. constantly harassing a fellow fan for being the wrong kind of fan to the point where it's so psychologically damaging and invasive that it not only drives them to a suicide attempt but causes the writers of the show to step in and tell them to knock off their shit behavior is unprecedented. i saw a post once, i forget where, that summed it up pretty well. for as bad as homestuck was, hussie never had to step in and tell homestuck fans to knock it off. as bad as horse show was, the creators never had to step in. not undertale, not five nights at freddies, not supernatural. but steven universe did. there's something evil about that fandom man.

5 times 0 is still zero user

Let's not pretend that fellow fan was a completely healthy person and not a typical overly depressed Tumblr artist girl who probably thinks one's race and sex is a personality trait.

What the other people did was still wrong, but it's not like they drove a regular person to suicide. They harassed someone who was already frail to begin with. For all we know, they'll probably try to commit suicide again in a couple more when their boyfriend breaks up with them.

It's like when Sup Forums tries to give itself the credit for that r9k shooter when it was clear he already had issues to begin with.

The capeshit fanbase has existed long before SU, it will exist long after SU. It is leaps and bounds worse than the handful of autists on tumblr who happen to give a shit about this show

There was some autistic kid on DeviantArt (don't remember the name, venom-something?) who apparently got his account hacked by other bronies who uploaded pictures of him from his Facebook with ponies photoshopped, attempting to make it look like they were uploaded by him, and they say he attempted suicide over that.

This happened ages ago and i only heard about it through Facebook, not sure if it's bullshit but it's not something hard to believe, the mlp fanbase has had enough time on the internet to be as bad or even worse.

>it's not like they drove a regular person to suicide
that should not matter. you shouldn't have to give a defense case for a person not getting the death penalty because they were the wrong kind of fan in a shitty fandom. in fact actively targeting someone who has depression and suicidal thoughts makes it fucking worse because they knew exactly what they were doing in that case and knew the end result if they kept up with their actions. this isn't some tough skinned head writer who's getting pissy letters that someone's ship isn't canon, this is fandom cannibalism and attempted murder. they could have done that to fucking chris chan and that would still be flat out evil.

Absolutely.

Yes, but only if I can consistently undermine their expectations and dumb ships and constantly get threads on here of anons calling me /ourguy/ while others call me a pandering cancer.

Yea, I would.
From a practical perspective I just need the money. What it would bring in and that would be worth whatever minor annoyances that come from over zealous fans. And I'm talking to a point of stalking and home invasion, I'd be cool with it. And second I'm just a pretty tolerant and or lenient guy to begin with so the gripes and whining and demands from fans i usually see wouldn't bother me to begin with, I don't think. I might even find some perverse amusement in intentionally fucking with fans.

>when you unironically want to be Sup Forums's /guy/
Compared to every other community or website out there, Sup Forums looks like a fucking paradise. It's one of the last remnants of what the internet was suppose to be: A place where you remain anonymous and just shout out all the stupid shit you have floating through your head with no consequence. Not "everyone shares their full name, their job, where they live, their resume, photos of themselves, and you can find out all their friends with one click".

I remember back during AOL days even so much as using your real name for a username was considered moronic.

of course i would
Autist can be easily milked for money

Remake Steven universe. The fanbase has to be 5 times autistic than itself, and infinite autism breaks the world.

My dream Sup Forums project is WOY getting enough new seasons to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion for everyone and the shows I watch right now also getting enough seasons for that so yeah, I think I'll do it as long as the quality doesn't decrease.

I would go for it and use the Hussie formula. Meme and hype the fuck out of it, shill tons of merch, and take three years to release a shitty ending I don't even work on. Then I will buy a house boat and drop out of civilization.

Of course. As long as fans are not the main audience, you can always ignore them.

Is there a mom version of this?

Nice

I'd make something trash but full of waifus and scenarios that cater to my fetishes to produce an ungodly amount of porn AND make a shitton of money to fund my actual dream project.

win/win?

Fandoms are a poison
