I like the old headcanon that Drake was actually Scrooge's Son/grand son with Goldie. Scrooge is a little embarassed his direct blood decided to take the adventuring thing purely to super heroics and they don't really talk but Scrooge still sends money to support him.

That's an odd theory, but one that could be fun it if was done without a lot of melodrama. More like one of those moments where the audience realize it but the characters never acknowledge it.
How did Drake make money anyway? He never seemed to have a job and Ratcatchers don't buy themselves at the rate he goes through them.
