OH BOY! I can't wait for 2 hours of Deadpool shitting on all the other characters and how they aren't as popular as him!

Cable, Deadpool, Domino and who else? Gambit?

they couldn't lure Jackman out of retirement with a dump truck full of money?

The Deadpool spinoffs begin.

>Fox has set Drew Goddard to write and direct X-Force, the X-Men spinoff film that revolves around Deadpool and Cable leading a Black Ops force of down and dirty mutant warriors who are far more ruthless than their X-Men counterparts. Kinberg, Ryan Reynolds and Lauren Shuler Donner are producing. Goddard is next directing for Fox Bad Times at the El Royale with Chris Hemsworth and Jeff Bridges, but he has already cracked the script and will roll right into X-Force when he is finished.

>Reynolds’ Deadpool will for sure be the centerpiece of X-Force, and when Kinberg discussed the property publicly, he added Cable as a major component. Josh Brolin is playing the character in Deadpool 2.

>Getting Goddard is a coup for the studio. He has been destined to spearhead a superhero franchise for a long time. Aside from launching the Daredevil series for Netflix, Goddard wrote to direct The Martian, but stepped aside for Ridley Scott to instead direct his script for the Spider-Man villain spinoff The Sinister Six, until that film was scrapped for the new iteration of the webslinger. Now Goddard has his franchise.

Sony must be fuming right now

Wow, it took absolutely nothing for Fox to fold completely to Reynolds.
I'm glad for him Deadpool panned out after everything, but now it feels like an empty victory. Fox could have used it as a learning experience and stepped up their game with the rest of their properties, instead they're just doing another Jackmanverine and handing over the steering wheel to whoever's already successful.

GIVE THE RIGHTS BACK

What gets to me is...what if Deadpool 2 is a letdown? People are already overhyping the sequel, and let's be honest, a good majority of sequels to comedic properties tend to fall flat. The original director already left the set, and they got a stunt woman killed. I would not be surprised if Deadpool 2 is Reynolds letting the fame get to his head and he just goes "People want more sex and violence, and that's what we'll give them!"

>Logan
>Deadpool

Disney is NEVER going to get the X-Men and I'm glad since Fox is actually embracing the characters in a way Disney never would.

>Even though there are hundreds of great stories about producers and showrunner’s I rarely write about them unless they also involve some celebrity because it’s hard to describe a showrunner to a point where you could even garner a guess. This story was so crazy though that I had to write about it. The show is an almost television show. Did really well so it was renewed for another season with some conditions. The studio wanted it to be less depressing. Honestly, that was probably a pretty good note. They also wanted production to move at a little faster pace. The showrunner said sure and shooting began. Except that it didn’t really begin. Our showrunner, instead of speeding things up was actually running things even more slowly. Entire days of filming were wasted because of the sets he was having built. Massive sets from scratch built in public places that were taking days to build instead of hours. The scripts were no less depressing and if anything, were even more of a downer than the previous season. This led to a confrontation between the studio and the showrunner.

>After lots of yelling and screaming, things seemed to have been worked out. Nope. Our showrunner just kept doing what they had been doing. So, after another week of this, the studio started e-mailing the showrunner. No response. Calling. No response. texting. No response. That left other members of the production team to deliver all of the messages which put the team on edge. Then, the suits came to town again to talk personally to our showrunner but he barricaded himself in a room on the set which was inside a television studio. He stayed there for eight hours refusing to come out. Finally he emerged, but only because he had to use the restroom. He was escorted off the set and fired from the show. A replacement was brought in, but the showrunner had destroyed so many files about the show it took a long time before everything could be pieced back together as close to the original way as possible.
>Show: "Daredevil" (Netflix)
>Showrunner: Drew Goddard
>Replacement: Steven S. DeKnight

Maybe Fantomex. Everyone loves Storm Shadow.

So, Drew is difficult to work with, and yet he put out the best Netflix season?

>What gets to me is...what if Deadpool 2 is a letdown?
It already is.

They've folded completely to Reynolds and his own take on the character was already verging on cringe.

They've already sacrificed a human life on the altar of diversity. For a Domino who doesn't look like a domino and wears an afro. As a special ops wetworks figure.

Gambit will probably be part of X-Force.

Josh Brolin isn't going to be a good enough Cable, because the character doesn't really have much to him in the first place, beyond connection to Apocalypse and Cyclops/Jean, which won't be in the movies.

No Cannonball in X-Force?

X-Force led by Deadpool, or more exactly led by Reynolds cringe humor (at this point no one will be able to tell him that whatever jokes he chooses aren't funny).

No Wolverine in an Uncanny X-Force.

Whether Psylocke is on the team or not, they've already muted her character.

What is there to look forward to, exactly? What exactly is X-Force and what are they fighting?
Stryfe? Way too convoluted. Apocalypse? They won't reuse him.

X-Force doesn't work well unless it's perceivably juxtaposed to what the X-Men are doing, but that won't work here because X-Men have been lost in time. In the comics Cable's origin mattered because we saw baby Nathan with Cyke and Maddie/Jean. We haven't seen that at all in the films.

Don't worry, though, guys. We'll get a bunch of cringe Deadpool-centric films with a lot of violence (KEWL!) and cringe jokes telling us that we're racist if we don't think black Domino is the "bees knees" or some other dad joke.

Sounds like bullshit, if they hated working with him so much why invite him back to write for Defenders?

I hate this sentiment since Fox was actively against Deadpool and Logan. The poor bastards behind those movies had to fight every step of the way to get them made the way they wanted, and now idiots on the internet are praising the antagonistic force.

Good pick, Goddard is a decent comedy/action writer. Doubt it'll be the bestest cape film ever but it'll probably be enjoyable at the least.

>What exactly is X-Force and what are they fighting?
I wouldn't be shocked if they fight Mojo.

Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if Domino turns out to be the villain of Deadpool 2 while we're at it.

>"People want more sex and violence, and that's what we'll give them!"
If interviews are to be believed, Reynolds was literally responsible for the more serious parts of the movie (the origin, Wade's insecurities) while the director and writer were behind the Memepool stuff.

I wasn't aware that Deadpool swore so much in the comics and masturbated to unicorns.

>it's a stealth Longshot movie

Wtf are you talking about. You're acting like movie studios are comic publishers. Ryan Reynolds is a bankable star. All big budget movies are anchored by them, and in this franchise Wolverine used to be that guy. Just becuase an X-Men movie does well doesn't me they can move forward with any tangentially-related X property. You seem like one of the bitter X-faggots that's perpetually upset their favorite D-lister never got his due. Go hang out with the 4 Wonder Man fans.

>hasn't read Deadpool MAX

>Wow, it took absolutely nothing for Fox to fold completely to Reynolds
You act like the original was Reynolds getting Fox to do exactly what he wanted anyway. Aside from a smaller budget necessitating a more constrained story, what exactly do you think Fox interfered with in Deadpool? The fear has always been that Deadpool was a passion project by Reynolds and his team, and it's immense success will now how Fox breathing down their neck for the sequel.

>the original was Reynolds getting Fox to do
*wasn't

No one should read Deadpool Max

But they still happened. It is sad the fox has to meddle in their big franchise movies. We end up with something like X-men Apocalypse every now and then. Though fox DID let Logan and Deadpool happen. I'll never assume fox has learned from their mistakes, but they certainly have potential to make gold.

Yeah because afros are a no-no for spec ops but going around half naked without any camo when your skin is snow white was a-ok for everyone.

>Mojo
Can't really see it happening but that would be hype as fuck.

Sony emails showed Goddard having conflicts with Marvel Entertainment during DD filming, so I'd say part of it was definitely real at the time.

But Tucker Stone said it was a good comic!

>Aside from a smaller budget necessitating a more constrained story,
Which lead to a dead stunt woman.

>Can't really see it happening but that would be hype as fuck.
I can. They are running out of big name X-Men villains.

I'm not sure you understand which movie I'm talking about.

ce serait bien

Will they use him?

I doubt that's a good enough argument to convince Hollywood execs to approve of a movie where the villain is a fat greasy caricature of them.

I find it hard to believe the person described in that post would be invited back to work on another show and given an EP credit.

Writing an episode vs being a show runner is a different thing. It's also likely Goddard came up with some ideas for Defenders so they invited him back to write an episode.

Or you know Deadpool is actually a member off x-force

This is like major bridge burning stuff though, at least as it's described, which leads me to believe there were difficulties but probably not as dramatic at this person is describing.

That's still like Josh Trank levels of throwing fits on set. I'd believe there were some difficulties between him and Marvel/Netflix, just not anything in that story beyond "took too long."

The amount of times you said cringe is more cringey than anything in DP.

>Drew Goddard attached to yet another comic book movie
This'll never get made.

Psylocke.

So what?

The only characters these movies ever got right were Xavier, Magneto, Wolverine and Deadpool. Everything else has been a complete joke.

For as formulaic the MCU can be, Fox never made anything as good as Iron Man 1 or Winter Soldier and they sure as hell never made anything as bad as X3, Apocalypse or fucking Wolverine Origins.

Like

Is he the one who kept desperately trying to get attached to a Marvel movie, or was that someone else?

Truth, bu I think X3 was the msot fun movie, it was like cartoon episode brought to life.

>Fox never made anything as good as Iron Man 1 or Winter Soldier
Deadpool, X2, Dofp, Logan, First Class.
Iron man was just a solid action movie. Winder soldier was great though.

Forgot X1. Also IM2 is pretty bad and worse than apocalypse.

What happened to the Deadpool director? The guy could direct action sequences so well that James Cameron wants him for Terminator

People really need to stop rating WS this highly. It does nothing exceptionally well and it has some ridiculous clichés.
Yeah it doesn't have jokes but come on.

Creative differences.

The new director is good with action too so it's cool.

Wouldn't be the first time a FOX franchise made fun of FOX themselves

You know what, you're right.

X3 is a piece of shit, but at least it's not fucking insomnia medication like the whole First Class trilogy.

Sure but not to the point of having them be the main villain of a blockbuster movie.

But Daredevil season 1 was good!

You know not every superhero movie has to be crazy cgi action like X3. It can push relatable messages and have memorable dialouge like X2 and Spiderman 2.

My guess? Purifiers & Bastion for antagonists. Everyone loves killing religious nut jobs, and Bastion has the time travel connection to Cable.

>It does nothing exceptionally well and it has some ridiculous clichés.
That's Deadpool.

Tell me user, what does WS do particularly well? It sure as fuck isn't intrigue, action, dialogue, or anything visual.
It's a solid movie but fuck me is it nothing more than that.

And Deadpool objectively did his costume exceptionally well.

>For a Domino who doesn't look like a domino and wears an afro. As a special ops wetworks figure
>complaining about Superhero having an impractical design
Just say you hate niggers, no one cares here

I hate niggers

or he had pitched the ideas used before he was fired and he still needed to be given credit because of union rules. The couple who produced the Buffy movie had an executive producer credit and got paid for the entire run of the Buffy TV series yet they had nothing to do with it

You did it wrong.

That was Goyer post Blade.

It's about Deknight

They were so against that they let them happen. Get a grip faggot

Ah, nice tears

Alas, there is no zoolander 3, who would threaten DP like before, amirite?

It happened recently, when they were shooting DP 2. But that's good, minor human sacrifice can only make the movie better

You basically gave me an idea how would I retcon X-Men into MCU. I would make it that they were imprisoned in Mojoworld all this time.

>Iron Man
>Winter Soldier
>good
GTFO, these movies are cancer

underrated as fuck

>Drew Goddard
meh
>X-Force
noice
>With Deadpool Leading Black Ops Force
DROPPED
