1. It helps to instill trust back into the FBI due to Comey dropping the Clinton case like hot coals. But now that its open, he's put in a position where Hillary can still be president, but finish the case anywhere up to after her inaguration.
2. Clinton gets to assert herself to the emails. She's walking around with a big dick about the FBI not releasing them, and that sets the narrative that the FBI is merely scaring people into thinking its something bad. Sure the initial scheme was a bad headline, but it lets Hillary take an attacking roll over a defending roll.
3. I refuse to believe that CNN and the MSM are going to report on this if it was bad. They help Hillary by pushing her narrative that its all smoke and mirrors and she's the one being bullied here. Aswell as coming up for the final news cycle for the election, they'll be trying to gain trust and ground for Trump to drop him onto the floor with some inevitable scandal to come up.

The only thing to think about now is if the 33k emails someone has actually has some incriminating stuff. If it zerg rushes to the public, perhaps Hillary will be dragged into a padded car and thrown away.
