Something about this season has had me feeling pretty meh and I think I realised what it is: We're only going to see this tower setup for the whole show and nothing else of the world.
I know how people hiss at 'filler' and think the heroes should make a straight line directly for the end goal but the result of that is this. Episodes stretched thin with a minimal cast straining their dynamics because there's no way to shuffle things up or have a downtime for character development.

Wakfu and Dofus were different in their approach though.
I do wish Ankama would've saved the tower climbing arc for a second set of OVAs or a movie, and release a proper S3 instead with the usual episodic adventure-around-the-world format, even if they only had the budget for 16 episodes. At least we'll get a glimpse at the gods' dimension as a consolation prize, if the episode titles are anything to go by.

It's basically a drawn out version of the Dofus movie. Family gets attacked, family goes to 'dungeon', work their way up and end with a fight.
I will give them something, it matches their game mechanics well.

Personally, it's the yugo x amalia shit. Unlike with the iop x eva stuff, they're being extremely heavy-handed with it. Always in your face even before they officially get together. They just won't stop shoving down the audience's throat as if the audience was clinically retarded or something.

Huh, I just realized how different the Pinpin x Eva relationship developed opposed to most others in this kind of show. Their biggest conflicts were actually after they got together, and the stuff prior to it was relatively minor issues. I guess it's the opposite of how Yugo x Amalia is developing.
