no. it was amazing
As a David Lynch fan I was in heaven. As a Twin Peaks fan I was a bit disappointed.
Overall I feel mixed, but am glad that it exists.
Friendly reminder that it's been confirmed that Eddie Vedder recorded a song that plays during the Twin Peaks finale. It confirms Agent Cooper never gets his mind back. (Pic is evil Cooper) Listen youtu.be
It was shit
there are times when I really worry about you user
Funny you lost Albert, seeming as he was only in The Return for 10 minutes at most
Audrey best girl I still love you even though your actress is crazy
*post
Albert was in it a ton for the FBI plotline. I think he was in season 3 more than S1 and s2 in fact
Albert had a bigger role in the season than most people what are you even talking about
I loved it. It made up for how awful season 2 was.
it really was disappointing
>It made up for how awful season 2 was.
whats the matter cuck?
couldnt take all that frosting huh lil boy?
People who thought there was going to be a conclusive ending are fucking morons. Lynch described Twin Peaks as a continuing story. The original series was never meant to "end", it was meant to go on and on and never wrap up. The whisper from Laura to Cooper was never meant to be revealed, Laura's killer was never meant to be revealed and plot lines were meant to weave like spiderwebs. The Return is Lynch & Frost attempting to restore Twin Peaks to its original intentions.
was kino
get lynched
...
hmmmf
Twin Peaks truly is the "ideas guy" of kino
i watched tp like 3 years ago and barely remember anything other than kyle maclachlan being taken over by bob and never getting to see audreys ass
i like lynch in general
can i just watch this and enjoy it with that in mind
Yes
Naomi Watts
Like almost everything Lynch does it was a case of him taking a coherent plot and randomly cutting out important chunks of it to try to create an artificial sense of mystery.
His only watchable project was Dune.
watch fire walk with me if you haven't
or don't you'll probably still enjoy season 3
>watch fire walk with me if you haven't
i have and thought it far superior to the show
As sexy as she is, it made me deeply uncomfortable to watch her rape that mentally retarded man.
It was great, ton of fun to pick apart and try to solve, if you like lynch I don't see how you wouldn't like this
She didnt know she was raping him
No. I watched it because it was the most interesting visual thing that has been done in decades. Television and movies suck these days. I was waiting eagerly each week to see something new and different. If you don't like new and different, there is always 2 broke girls for you
...
C
i really disliked the attempts at comedy in the first 2 season of TP, i´m glad the took that shit out of Season 3
I mean, I'd let her rape me.
Having that guaranteed hour of beautiful television every week made my summer.
I want to say yes,
But after seeing other TV shows from that year, yeah, if that was bad, then the other tv shows are x1000000000 worse
Someone is booty blasted
I liked it. Loved certain parts. Unlike most I felt it was a bit too long (basically there was a lot of fluff and fat in the middle that dragged), and a lot of the technical incompetence and bad editing really bugged me. Some of it straight up looked like a Neil Breen movie.
both life and the world are more disappointing than fucking anything real
Now that the dust on this thread has settled, can we all agree that OP is a huge faggot?
Op started out with a good premise but made to many compromises along the way
I think that if it was edited down to be 2 or 3 episodes shorter, it would have been better. But as it is, it was a very solid season with some great moments.
Albert was in it way more than that. He was one of the main characters and was virtually the center of episode 12.
Technically Cooper wasn't retarded. He basically had Locked-in Syndrome and could remember everything.
U
It was great. A "flawed masterpiece". I loved it even more a second time. I'm still thinking about some of it.
I was never expecting it to be perfect because Twin Peaks in general is not perfect. It's messy and even FWWM, one of the most visceral and sensual experiences ever, had some trying moments in it. But the more I sit with the series' tracjectory as a whole the more I love how different each iteration of this show is. Each one uses the same setting and characters to push a different tone and style, or message. It's really fascinating, almost like a thematic anthology
wow it was so good lynch did it again
Who’s the tits?
She knew, that was pretty much the whole point of the Dougie subplot, most everyone knew he wasn't the same guy but we all stay locked into our social roles where even when someone stops being himself everyone does the work of making up the difference for him.
You see something similar in the original series where Bobby flips out about everyone knowing Laura was in trouble but choosing to ignore it.
I think it all goes back to that anecdote Lynch mentioned a while back about the realization he had as a child that no matter how perfect everything seemed he could always look under the surface and find insects. Like we always build our dream worlds on top of nightmare conditions that we learn to stop noticing.
>It was beautiful old houses, tree-lined streets, the milkman, building forts, lots and lots of friends. It was a dream world, those droning airplanes, blue skies, picket fences, green grass, cherry trees. Middle America as it was supposed to be. But then on the cherry tree would be this pitch oozing out — some of it's black, some of it's yellow, and there are millions of red ants crawling all over it," he says. "I discovered that if one looks a little closer at the beautiful world, there's always red ants underneath."
Objectively it was masterpiece.
Return > FWWM > Season 1 > Season 2
The Return is objectively one of the best piece of media in XXI century.
Bold, Unique, Original, Unpredictable, Funny, Sad, Scary, Atmospheric i can go and go...
It didnt pander to SJW, it didnt pander to normies from Season 1&2..
Its fucking great. Its a fact.
Wrong. The thing is that u can only understand Dune with ur 20 IQ. The Return is perfectly coherent and understanable, like most of his movies.
Same with movies... The Return shits on most movies and tv shows... This is how u make continuation... Its the best "many many years later" continuation ever.
You didn't watch the show, did you?
>retarded
He spent 25 years in an interdimensional acid prison, he was just getting his bearings.
>tfw no mommy gf to take you to all her Twin peaks events
cringe
It was probably dissapointing only for faggots who are used to generic hollywood crap.. Every fucking year we get same movies, same tv shows. With different names. Creativity is dead. The Return was experience, it was something that stay with u. Also it gave us /TPG/ which was perfect until russian leaks.
It's the best thing shown on TV in the last decade or more you simple minded FUCK
Friendly reminder that Dougie Jones is the best fictional character, and he easily shits on Agent Cooper.
Sup Sup Forums? Just finished season 2 today and I'm currently watching Fire walk with me. Started great but now it's boring as fuck.
Extremely excited to start season 3 after this. Am I going to be letdown? Pic of me watching fire walk with me.
It struck a strange balance that left out aspects I liked but introduced ones I didn't know I wanted.
In the end, I enjoyed it, as it was still a roller coaster of tones like the original series.
I loved it, the first and last 3 episodes were absolutely perfect. Pure, and I mean this with no memes, kino.
I wish it was longer, more development of Bobby would have been good.
It wont be letdown uf are not expecting Season 1&2 or FWWM. The Return is different than both of them. Just enjoy the ride. its absolutely fantastic if u are watching it with open mind. Also its slow-burn and its slow paced. But i didnt have problem with that because every second was great for me.
You’re not gonna like season 3
what a shitty baseless opinion
Well, last 3 episodes are the best. So he is not wrong.
Thanks for the replies
I've already spoiled myself a bit by watching a few clips, not split related but so far I've seen
Wally Brando scene and Charlyne Yi screaming on the floor of a club after two bikers pick her up from her table booth. Found both those scenes really charming in their own way. If I like that stuff will I like most of season 3 or were those cherry picked scenes that just happened to be interesting?
no
I think you'll enjoy it.
cringe about something he thought of when he was 9. Like, we get it, your a big 12 year old now
*you're
fuck my life FUCK MY LIFE
What you want me to go point by point?
>music was absolutely perfect
>directing was beautiful, people thought using the digital would hurt Twin Peaks, but it only helps
>the characters may have aged 25 years, but they slip into the plot just the same, including Coop
>the plot was bare bones most of the show, but it remained entertaining, seeing Dougie blunder perfectly through danger was amazing
>the power of scenes flipping from cute, to funny, to terrifying just like the original show is still in this revival too
>Goyum unironically falling for my Twin Peaks The Return scheme. Only further falling down the rabbit hole and looking into my Transcendental Meditation services. When will the goyum learn.
David Lunch
none of that makes any sense you cant even tell me why it was good
>not liking sheryl and ray kino
Get a load of this pleb
Can we finally admit that only the first season of Twin Peaks was any good? Or at least as soon as the initial Laura Palmer plot ended.
lol
I don't have any brainlet wojacks saved but just pretend I posted one ok?
I will concede that season 2 was bad, but season 1, FWWM, and season 3 are very good. The only good part of season 2 was Earl disguised as log lady.
I wouldn't say he shits on Coop but he was the best part of season 3
FWWM was kino
Season 3 was interesting even if it didn’t answer much
It was ok, no Wayward Pines though.
We cant, because FWWM and The Return are better than both seasons.
>watching films on a laptop
>pausing films to shitpost on Sup Forums
>can't appreciate kino
Lynch would hate your guts. I know I do.
Kek
Daily reminder rhat there is much more filler and uninportant scenes in S01&02 than in The Return.
Wheres wrong with watching films on a laptop? Weren't television sizes in the early 90s pretty fucking small?
I know that he doesn't like people watching film on smartphones but why would he care about laptops? Screens are big enough on a laptop and they have speakers.
I wish Frank Silva was still alive
Do u guys think they should make another season? They were writing return script 4 years so yeah...
One of the best parts of the movie is the amazing cinematography and use of sound in scenes like the Pink Room, which can’t be replicated on a laptop
>they have speakers
Jesus Christ... Sound is one of is not the most important components of Lynch's work, and you're listening to it thru shitty laptop speakers. You might as well not bother. Would you print off an image of the Mona Lisa and say you've been to the Louvre?
I heard of this show, but never saw it. My friend always raved about it though. One day I'm driving down the road and I see a restaurant called Twin Peaks and I was shocked. I thought to myself, "No way! A themed restaurant based off of that one show?!" So I went in to investigate. I was pretty upset to find out the truth.
Much like the restaurant, Twin Peaks is full of sexually attractive young blondes
You two are making a pretty compelling argument about sound, I'll moving from the laptop to the television.
Who was the best villain?
I have a huge TV with a great sound system and any time I watch FWWM I think it’s a tragedy I’ll never hear the Pink Room scene in a theater
I can’t imagine using tinny laptop speakers
Do you think the original vedderposter killed himself after episode 16?
Happy memories
The one you forgot.
Does anyone think Laura teleported like Jeffries did at the end?
