Has Obamacare saved your life?

Has Obamacare saved your life?

No, this guy did.

No, this guy did.

None of those will make you healthy.

No. I don't live in America.

Is medicaid part of Obama care or is it purely a state service? That has saved my life.

No, but it wasn't meant for me. It saved the life of some of our most vulnerable, but also most precious, who through no fault of their own faced emergency procedures every time they swallowed and entire fucking hog.

No but it impoverished the country.

g-good job guise! w-we reformed health care :)

I wouldn't have insurance if it wasn't for Obamacare, so possibly.

saved many bank accounts from growing too large

It saved me from wasting my money on junk food so I guess you could say so

My Blue Cross insurance used to cost about $110. My policy was discontinued in 2014, my 2015 policy went up substantially in 2016. I'm currently paying about $250 each month. I got a letter this month telling me my policy is being discontinued at the end of the year. Based on the news and analysis I've read, premiums will go up between 20 and 60 percent. Based on past experience, the plan that replaces mine will have less coverage and/ or a higher deductible. In a few months, I will no doubt be paying around 3 times as much for less insurance as compared with just a few years ago. I didn't have these problems before this law went into effect.

To add insult to injury, I'm currently working part time after losing a job I loved a couple of months ago. I asked the boss for more hours after two guys got fired; he needed shifts covered, and I have time to cover them. It's an evening shift, so I don't even have to use sick days to go to interviews. He told me that he wished he could, but that more shifts would make me full time and that he can't afford more full time guys right now. One of the managers ended up covering the shifts until they hire new guys.

My insurance keeps going up, and I can't fucking afford it because this stupid law prevents me from working full time until I find a new job.

On a related topics, I'd love to hear about jobs for ship captains with 250 ton commercial licences. I'm willing to relocate anywhere the continental US.

As someone who works in a hospital it's made my life considerably worse.

Raised my taxes, yes. Saved my life, no.

It was made to fail. Dont be tricked into thinking they failed. They intended it to fail so the next step can be started

>guise see this failed, we need to just go straight to single payer

They couldnt get single payer so what better way than to start a fire and convince the people that the only water around is single payer?

I'm fine with single payer, since our government already spends more per citizen on healthcare than anyone but Norway. If they want to spread that around and make that money cover everyone I say go for it.

They won't, of course, but if they did...

I usually get a small refund but I had to pay 1k in taxes extra this year for the first time, so not really.

it's made healthcare unaffordable for me. Ill keep kicking this bulging disc down the road.

Obamacare lowered my monthly by about $120 and the new plan I got has much better coverage.

ITT: Manchildren who don't know how to select insurance like an adult.

Grow the fuck up and learn how to tie your fucking shoes.

>Needed insurance before I got kicked off my parents' plan
>Salary was just over the threshold for subsidized care
>Options were as follows: Sign up for Medicaid, pay about forty percent of my salary out-of-pocket for an overpriced shit plan, or work hard for a full-time post so I could get company benefits
>Worked through tremendous physical pain
>Got full-time, but the timing was slightly off
>Needed to go on Medicaid for a month as a temporary stop-gap, as the program was meant to be used
>Tried to get an HMO so I could see a specialist
>It takes two months for a Medicaid HMO plan to kick in
>Still in pain
>Still working
>Finally get insured and see an orthopedist
>Co-pay is disgustingly high
>Likely to get higher as Obamacare takes its toll

Thanks Obama

I have insurance and have not been to see a doctor in over 4 years
